In Godhand, the attack commands are assigned to the face buttons while the dodge is assigned to the right analog stick. I use the thumb for both the face buttons and the right stick. This creates an issue where if I have to dodge an enemy's attack in the middle of a combo, I have to move my thumb from the face buttons to the right stick and given how sudden and fast some enemy attacks are, I am unable to move my thumb fast enough. In the base game, there is no option for changing the control scheme. Thankfully, I am playing on PCSX2 which allows me to change the controls freely. After swapping the face buttons with the shoulder buttons and triggers, the combat feels much more natural as I can now use my forefinger and middlefinger for the shoulder buttons/triggers and thumb for right stick allowing me to attack and dodge without any hassle. However, something about using the shoulder buttons for attacking just doesn't feel right. Just like how using R1 for Dante's sword instead of triangle and using R1 and L1 for attacking with Ryu instead of X and Y would feel off. It works but it just feels like something's missing.
Instead of having L2 be assigned to a useless feature like the taunt, why wasn't it made into a dedicated dodge button? You could hold down L2 and now you can tilt the left analog stick in any of the four directions you want for performing the required dodge. This would instantly make the game so much better.
And speaking of the dodge itself, 2 of the dodges seem completely useless. The forward dodge is the best as it lets you evade enemy attacks while still staying up close and personal, letting you counter and continue your combos. The trade off is the timing is pretty hard to pull off. The backflip lets you evade everything and the timing is pretty lenient with the trade off being it disengages you from the enemy and puts a stop to your combos. The side dodges however are so situational and most of the times, I just get hit whenever I use them and I end up ignoring them completely.
Another aspect of Godhand that completely baffles me is the movement or rather, the complete absence of any and all movement options. Keep in mind, this game came out after Devil May Cry 3 and Ninja Gaiden Black, both of which (especially NG Black) took movement to a whole new level. Forget about trickster teleporting into an enemy step or windpathing into a horizontal wall run into a triple flying kick; in Godhand, you can't even strafe left or right. You can move in two directions in this game: front and back. The controls are quite similar to Resident Evil 4 with the pace being much faster. In Resi 4, the controls felt intuitive and the game was perfectly balanced around those controls. In Godhand, it feels the opposite. Who thought it was a good idea to restrict movement to a straight line (one-dimension) in an action game? Going from NG Black (which allowed you to approach a fight from any angle) to this feels like I just went back several years in gaming. Seriously, tank controls in an action game?
Next: the camera. It's horrific. Quite easily the worst camera I've encountered in an action game. It's quite similar to the camera in God of War 2018 (and Resi 4), I hated it there and I hate it here too. What makes this camera even worse in God Hand is that there are certain enemies (like the demon that appears when you play well) who can just randomly teleport behind you, blindsiding you completely. In Resi 4, the game was balanced around you not being able to see what was on your left, right and back so the over-the-shoulder camera felt right for that game. This camera is ridiculous for an action game.
The only thing that stands out to me so far is the music. There is no real level design to speak of, you just move from arena to arena and beat enemies. There isn't even any interesting landscapes/geometry in the levels either. This game feels so cheap, like it was strung together using Resi 4 as a base in a year and sold for some quick cash. Honestly, this game just makes me wanna boot up Sifu again which is a better game than Godhand in pretty much every aspect.

These are serious times were in; discussion about it all is so disjointed, makes me wonder if people are perceiving the onslaught the US is under: spiritually, politically, socially. The shell game has never been better played; everyone looks one way, while the real attacks happen right under our noses.

I got asked a few times on this. It left me puzzled. In our industry I guess we are expected to show passion at our work. And contextually its not just work, its what we love.
However, I dont plan to work extra hour or expecting to do more. At the end of the day, I just treating it as work. And some studios will want you to stay and make friends, play some games together etc etc.

My husband and I had what I considered to be a blissfully happy marriage for about 10 years. We had always been a bit uneven in how we split housework and chores because he works a schedule with odd hours. I’m also a total neat freak, so when I did extra cleaning and chores I knew that was my need more than his. Still, we were super happy and I was very content in my marriage.
Then, when our oldest daughter was born, I realized that I was struggling with doing a larger share of housework and a larger share of baby duties. He did some, but it was definitely still very skewed such that I did way more work than he did and I was getting really burned out.
We had our second daughter 2.5 years later and things still didn’t change. It was still really skewed towards me doing more, and I was getting really burned out really fast.
Then the pandemic hit. I got laid off and started a side hustle from home, which was going pretty well but still allowed me the time I needed for our girls. But my husband really struggled. His work changed his title and responsibilities when he started working from home, his hours changed, and he started to be home with me and the girls a LOT more than he had in the past.
He started to withdraw from us HARD. He is a gamer and already spent a lot of time gaming with his friends online before then, but when the pandemic started he withdrew from them and just started playing solo games. He started staying up really late at night - midnight, 1, 2, sometimes later - and would really struggle in the mornings with our youngest while I drove our older daughter to preschool.
He told me he was depressed and struggling. He formed new online friends and spent hours every day playing with them. He’d often start a game right before dinner and miss meals with us. He’d be grumpy when he couldn’t game late at night, or be super grumpy if he needed to wake up with the kids. I started handling most morning duties so he could sleep in, and I pretty much took on the majority of childcare. I was also still running my website and taking care of the house. He was pretty “lost.”
I tried to be really patient and give him a lot of grace because he was struggling with depression. But he was getting tons of time for gaming and getting plenty of sleep each day while I was barely getting by.
Both our girls are older now and my youngest starts school in a few months. He seems to be wanting a lot more involvement with our girls, and he seems to be helping around the house more. Things are slowly getting better. We are still not sharing the load evenly, but things are way better than they were before.
My problem now is that I’m not sure I love him anymore. I felt really abandoned when he leaned so hard into his gamer friends and pulled back so hard from me and left me to do so much parenting by myself. I was working a new “job” and still making money for our family (which I don’t work anymore, I got hired back at my old job last year). I was exhausted all the time and he was really grumpy a lot of the time about his gaming.
We started fighting a lot and we haven’t stopped. He keeps saying how he is so stressed out with our girls that he needs his gaming to “get himself back.” I keep trying to find a way to share the load together around the house and with the kids so I don’t totally shrivel up like a raisin and want to cry.
He is trying harder now, but I just don’t have the heart for this. I want to give him time to heal. I struggled with depression when I was in college and I know how it feels. I wanted to give him space to work things out and come back to me and to our girls. But he is still struggling so much and I’m feeling so many negative thoughts. I feel abandoned. Lonely. Overwhelmed. Stressed. Scared. I don’t want to leave him - I want to go back to our happy times before our girls were born. But I don’t feel the love for him that I used to.
We tried seeing a marriage therapist, but that got too expensive and didn’t seem to be working for us anyway.
I don’t want to hear about his gaming. I don’t want to talk about his online friends. I don’t want to keep telling him how much this is weighing on me and feeling like it doesn’t matter. I don’t want to have sex, I don’t want to spend time with him, and I’m Not enjoying his company anymore.
We aren’t romantic at all anymore. We struggle to find things to talk about, we don’t kiss often or hug often anymore, and sex is really infrequent. We are more like roommates with benefits than a married couple these days.
Is it possible to fix this? Can I get to a point where this relationship is a healthy model for my girls?
I’m wondering if we should find a new counselor, or take some time apart, or if maybe this is beyond fixing?

Scoot is one of the most explosive sub-6'4 point guards we've seen in the last 25 years. We tend to worry about the injury risks of recent high draft picks much over 7 foot like Chet and Victor but as I was trying to think of Scoot comps with similar athleticism and size, I kept coming up with guys that had injury riddled careers. We're dealing with small sample sizes (not many guys hit the NBA at his size with his level of athleticism and tools) but I can't help wondering if guys with that kind of rim explosion and change of direction winds up putting a larger amount of stress on their bodies leading to more injuries and shorter careers. Maybe smaller guys, exploding at the rim, hanging in the air take a lot of bad falls or maybe these guys get very reliant on start/stop explosion can be pretty hard on their knees. I always remember watching Derrick Rose his first few years and marveling at how he could explode in one direction, plant and explode in a different direction then explode at the rim the next second. It seemed almost impossible. I always wondered if his injuries were an inevitable part of his unique playing style or if they were just bad luck.
I sifted through the tops of the last 25 drafts looking for 6'3 or shorter guys with similar types of athleticism as Scoot. They needed to have vertical explosion in addition to horizontal explosion. Guys like Mike Conley and Chris Paul had insane quickness but didn't explode at the rim the way Scoot can. I came up with 5 guys who had both types of explosion at an elite or nearly elite level and the injury history is not great:

1. D-Rose. first 3 seasons 78 or more games each then the ACL and was never the same player again. He never played 70 games for the rest of his career.
2. Baron Davis: first 3 seasons 82 games each, then ran into some injury-riddled years. He did have a couple seasons over 67 games. He retired at 32 after tearing his ACL and MCL.
3. Steve Francis enjoyed relatively good health up to his age 28 season then blew out his knee and was out of the league by 30.
4. John Wall: after his age 27 season he never played more than 42 games in a single year.
5. Ja Morant: has yet to play more than 67 games in a season.
6. Russell Westbrook: an absolute physical freak that throws off the curve. 10 years at 70 games or more despite flinging his body around the court like a rag doll every night.

Note that I am not a doubter of Scoot's talent. Barring injury I think he's a perennial all-star. I'm hoping he can stay healthier than some of these other guys because he plays more under control than them. He doesn't play 100 mph the whole game. He has elite change of gears and a really good pull-up that he can get to pretty easily. He was pretty nicked up last year, though, and I think he may need to become a really proficient pull-up 3 point shooter to save his body from the wear and tear that some of these other guards have dealt with. I don't think that's out of the question. We've seen that guys who have great pull-ups from 2 are often able to extend their range to 3s. What do you guys think of this? Small sample size or is there something there?

Hey I'm 21 M and I recently got cheated on emotionally. For context, she met the guy at a game and they only know each other's first names.
