I’m so happy the Ozempic is doing it’s job and regulating my hormones and getting me on track.. but these cramps!!! Holy moly the cramps are excruciating! Anyone else with this experience? TIA

While again, Sony does not have its own dedicated streaming service, a deal was struck in 2021 between the studio and Netflix. The deal, stating that Netflix would stream Sony's films after theatrical release, was penned for 5 years meaning Across the Spider-Verse is part of the arrangement.

DISCLAIMER, I am not antivax, I believe vaccines are important and I believe in proven science. This is not meant to discourage people from trusting the health system, just to open your eyes for dismissal of symptoms.
In February of 2022, I had an Optic neuritis, which I previously had for about 12 hours, 2 months prior, So I was not worried about it too much. But 2 days later, not getting better, I managed to get a speedy appointment the following day.
The Doctor thought it was maybe just a crystal that had formed in my ear causing me to have spinning vision(I was not dizzy, it was just my vision that was constantly spinning). But she suggested that I get an eye exam at an optometrist, which I managed to get 2 days later. By that point my eyes were no longer shifting constantly but I had severe nystagmus.
The optometrist that examined me, seemed very concerned, she kept doing the nystagmus test. Which I filmed myself doing later, to see what she was seeing. My nystagmus was so severe, that my right eye would not move from the center point to the right at all, it could only move to the left.
I don't know if she had good connections with a friend or something, but she immediately called an ophthalmologist and booked me at another clinic in the same hour(which was very busy when I got there already).
The ophthalmologist did the same test, called the hospital and scheduled an MRI. I was with her when she did the phone call and she said an MRI for MS(multiple sclerosis) To which I told her my double cousin(100% blood related cousin) has MS. Being a bit concerned that maybe being from the same exact bloodline may have caused this. She told me it was unlikely to be MS due to my age.(I was 36)
So far so good.
2 weeks later I got the MRI, my eyes were very slowly recovering but definitely not ready for the outdoor yet. I didn't mind the MRI, just when I started hearing the sound I was like, is this an alarm? This is the perfect time for the end of the world to happen. The contrast was poorly injected, it was painful and uncomfortable. But I can take some pain.
Then I got called to meet a neurologist, exactly 1 month after my optic neuritis. Get there, meet the secretary, asks me a few questions then to the neurologist. I remember doing most the test a police would do to check if you're safe to drive + some extra to test my nerves sensitivity. Talked about medication, asked if I wanted to take the common medication, or if I want to be part of a clinical trial for a new medicine. Booked me for a lumbar puncture on my birthday. No diagnostic was given to me. Sent back to the secretary and I ask, So do I have MS or not? to which she said yeah you do have it. Which feels a bit weird to me, never really being told If I had MS or not, I had to ask for it.
Now at that point I had done my research online already and seen plenty of stuff so it didn't really come as a shocker. Just the way it was handled was a bit off. Also taking into account that I was having some major friend relations problem at that time so I didn't care one bit about the diagnostic, my mind was somewhere else.
I refused the clinical trial because I did not want to be given placebo(more on that later). But I decided to wait a bit to see how it would go. No medication was offered for my eyes, just MS medication to prevent relapse in the future. Which would mean becoming permanently modulo compromise, which is like immuno compromise but not as bad. So all the way to June where I was doing my best to get back on track, started biking again, which my vision made it hard to do but it was getting better.
Early July, my vision was almost fully healed things were doing great. But then my vision started becoming crappy again, I did not get a full optic neuritis, but my vision went back to how it was 3 month earlier. Combined with being Very tired for no reason. Which is a symptom of MS and can get quite severe. So I decide to go start medication, but I informed them that I do not want the double blind clinical trial because I do not want to end up on placebo. To which I am informed that there is no 100% placebo for this trial. You will be place on one that is already on the market(the one the neurologist wanted to give me) or a new one that's being tested 50/50.
I accept to be part of the trial, I was excited, I'm going to be part of a clinical trial, that's awesome. The trial was in Phase 3 so it wasn't completely untested. The nurse assigned to my case was surprised that I knew what phase 3 meant. I do not have education in the medical field, but I got some knowledge, I always like to learn how things work, that's just how my brain is, "oooh HOW DOES IT WORK?"
They get my blood work done, took about 1 week before I started the medication. The secretary told me I should notice a big difference the same day. Did not happen, no symptom no improvement. So now I was in a clinical trial for some medicine. I now had extra work every month and x4 the amount of MRI a year which were FULL brain scan, so they were all 1h30 in duration instead of 40 minutes.
1 month into the medication, still super tired for no reason, eyes still crappy, I stopped biking because it became too hard and I now have a new symptom which was pimple, like if I was a teenager again. Told the nurse assigned to my case, said that's probably not it since it's not in the list of symptoms. Months go by, I'm getting more and more tired, pimples are not going away, my stools are of muddy sand texture, my vision is still crap.
Got to 2023, so tired, can't cook, too demanding so I was eating once a day. My apartment is a complete mess, I can't clean it, too tired to do anything. Just play video game all day. I think I went 2 week without taking a shower at one point cause going to take the shower was too demanding. Sleeping and sitting down was the only thing I could do. I thought to myself, This is it for me, this is MS progressing and that's it, my life is over. I was done, and I had accepted it. Still meeting with the doctors for my blood work and all.
They were not alarmed by my state. I started feeling something in my throat when I swallowed, I had a new symptom at that point which were acid reflux, but I had no idea that's what it was and didn't pay attention to it, so didn't report it but I did report that it felt like something was stuck in my throat. Doctor said he was not worried about it, but booked me for a throat check up. Also said you can stop the medication for 1 week see how it goes.
I get my throat checked, the guy says there is nothing. Stopping the medication didn't do anything so I get back on it but few weeks later around mid March 2023, I had an anal pain that was slowly getting worse, probably done by the sandy stool. I ate 1 meal,Tomatoes, pork, and noodle that I over stuffed with salt which I never do.
BOOM, the next day the energy, oh my god. I was like, I am currently sodium deficient... ok I am done with this medication. I stopped it and the recovery over the following weeks was so big. I started to walk again, doing the grocery was not an herculean task anymore. My body wanted eat that pork meal I had before so bad for 3 weeks straight, I was at the grocery store and I was like "GIVE ME PORK, I WILL PAY FULL PRICE I DON'T CARE!" Which to me was a signal that I was deficient in much more than just sodium.
Now I am so much better I'm almost fully back to how I was before 2022, biking a lot, active healthy, beautiful stools.
Gathering the pieces now, judging by my stool and acid reflux, the medication had destroyed my digestive system, I know it had destroyed my gut bacterias since I was managing that pretty well prior. I am pretty sure I was not absorbing most of the nutrient i was eating and eating once a day did not help. But eating once is normal for me during winter when I'm less active.
It is now June 2023 and I feel great, my cardio is through the roof. It is such a contrast going from, My life is over, I can barely walk , I am now nothing but a burden on everyone around me. to Let's climb a hill on a bike!
Now why the negative title?
I felt that my symptoms were being dismissed, my health was clearly spiraling down really fast and I was probably very close to a point of no return. I had to be the one that says OK I'M DONE. Which I would expect them to do that before I did. This wouldn't be so bad if the medications just gave me pimples. But when the medication made the symptoms we're trying to solve Worse, that's pretty bad.
It felt like the blood work they were doing were not checking for my electrolytes. They were checking for my gut bacteria, but only at the start, middle and the end of the trial. Which I did not make it to the middle check. My pimples were dismissed, my throat problem were dismissed, my excessive sudden tiredness was dismissed. I did not feel listened to AT ALL.
I now suspect that the Covid vaccine gave me MS relapse at a long delay, MS being triggered by an over activated immune system and vaccine's goal being related to that. I had 3 vaccine and 3 relapse. First in December 2021, again in February 2022, then relapsed again in July, I had my 3rd shot in June. My family doctor said no, probably not, the neurologist said it could be possible but there is no way we'll ever know. So considering my condition, I am personally done with vaccine if I am risking getting MS relapse every time I get a vaccine, not risking it.
I do not plan to get back on medications for MS, I'd rather deal with relapse then deal with whatever that was. I lost trust in the system, but it sounds par for the course with my life. Looking back at my life and the theme with my involvement anything state run is... incompetency. Every problem in my body was caused by medicine except 1(clavical seperation) WHICH would have been made worse if I had that earlier, since they no longer give surgery for that after discovering the surgery is worse than natural healing.
Sucks to say that about people with decades of experience, but there was a few early signs that I could have noticed. Dismissal of the pimple, neurologist always being all over the place when talking, The secondary neurologist being visual flustered by the disarray of the whole thing, them switching my assigned nurse because they over booked the one I had, The whole thing didn't feel professional at so many step along the way.
Thanks to my mother I was able to go through this ordeal, if it weren't for her I don't know what would have happened to me, no car, couldn't walk, could barely cook for myself. It would have been so bad without my mother ready to bend backward for me.
If anyone cares about the trial name, and medications tested, I can dig that up and post it later. I still do not know which medication I was given out of the 2 since "my life was not in danger" which is a bit sus to me.

Now I just want to start with saying I know majority of the people say the manga is top tier. But man the anime gets way too much hate even down to people saying the entire anime is trash and subpar. In my eyes it’s the greatest anime. Best piece of fiction in this world.
I’ve never felt so much emotion watching an anime before. I’ve never felt so much hype watching fights before. I’ve never felt so much awe watching world building before. I’ve never fell in love with characters before like I have in one piece. I’ve never loved the interactions between characters like I have when I watch once piece.
I understand the pacing is bad sometimes post timeskip. Dressrosa was long I get it fishman island was kinda ass I get it wano pacing right now is kinda bad I get it. The animation can be flashy I get it. But to say the anime is trash because of this is insane to me.
I was so hooked watching one piece I was watching 20 episodes maybe more a day I watched the entirety of one piece in just a couple months because it was just so addicting. And I read the manga after and I just don’t understand and never will how people say the anime is trash I will never understand how they call it even average. A few months ago I asked a question on here: “Are there actually any ethical wilderness therapy programs?” (It is linked in this post). I was grateful to listen to your answers as this is a topic I do not have first hand experience with. So thank you very much and I appreciate your thoughtfulness and kindness in your responses. Those answers you provided, and along with this subreddit have given me so much to think about. It definitely changed the way I thought about wilderness therapy… it’s not something I want to be a part of in its current state. And I am learning how to be more discerning and questioning in programs like them.
Well, besides this point…. I do have some good news that I’m so excited to share with you. I got a job this summer working in the parks dept, supervising a team of teenagers. I drive them around to local parks and we pick up trash, and also plant flowers in the flower beds. They are also working, so they get paid too of course! (And a few bucks above minimum wage too I might add)
I feel like this situation is a win-win-win, as Michael Scott of “The Office” says. I have the opportunity to be a role model for teens in an outdoor environment, they actually want to be there, AND we all get paid fairly!
I’ve been working with them for a couple weeks now, and was really looking forward to telling you guys about my experience. It’s been going very well so far and I manage a team of 3 teens. They all put in good effort in their jobs and are fun to be around and very silly.
When I was in training, I was told by a coworker not to get too personal with the kids, or give them any advice on personal issues. It’s definitely been a struggle keeping those boundaries, but so far I have been successful. I’ve had one situation where a kid confided a personal issue with me, but I feel like these boundaries have actually helped me be a better listener for him. He was able to figure out a healthy-ish solution to his problem just by us talking it out together.
Anyways, I just wanted to say thank you to you guys. I’m glad things are changing (or seem to be) as I see posts of wilderness therapy places closing. I hope my story shows people that there are other options out there to mentor to teens in an outdoor environment. My main job is just keeping them safe and make sure we keep the parks clean, but I hope that my team and I can learn a thing or two about life along the way. Self-reflection while picking up trash and all that. ;)
On top of this, I get to volunteer at a local nonprofit tomorrow for the first time, which is a safe space for teens :)

Now yes its a bit cheesy and i wont get to much into detail about Aphmau and Aaron because i don’t entirely have a full hypothetical story around them but i do have a way to tie in that rundown to my main event of the season my main focus is how every new couple mainly Nana and Zane and Travis and katelyn will say there first i love yous if not already said if they have been well i mean itll still be a nice moment the couples share.
Now its a couple of days after the tragedy of love love paradise and everyone is just tryna go home grieve and then ask questions later. Everyone finally gets home and they all just instantly break down from the trauma that was caused because no one really caught a break. Its late at night so everyone just packs it in and gets ready for bed at their houses after saying goodnight to everyone. Now we’ll say both Katelyn and Travis and Zane and Nana are both in seperate houses (idk who’s specifically but my main reasoning is they’re all talking about there relationships.). Now the first couple is Travis and Katelyn ill focus on and Katelyns gonna be the one whos needing support whilst Travis listens to Katelyn grieve for context hes still depressed to just i feel Katelyn may be the one to first break down in this scenario. Now Katelyn is horrified at what she did fighting her own friends and it kinda all leads to just shes sorry for just being for a lack of better words but being hard to get with with Travis and having a temper towards the rest of the gang sometimes . Travis comforts her by hugging her and reminding her that he’ll always be by her side and he accidentally in travis fashion but still kinda serious spurts out the three biggest words “i love you” and katelyn looks to him wipes a tear and says it back to him which will signify there officially a couple and wont hide it i think I don’t remember if they openly said they were a couple.
Now to Zane and Nana Where they’ll have a similar talk with Zane being the one who’s wanting to vent about everything whilst Nana provides support to Zane. Zane will of course cry and vent about how he had to witness the woman who cares about him and who he cares about get slashed whilst his best friend basically died right by him. He’ll also have a line something along the lines of “i just started to find out what love feels like (at this moment Nana sees the love zane has for her)and as soon as something good happens to me its usually followed up by something bad” or something of the same point so he’s crying Nana who’s crying to hearing this will pull him in close for a hug and now she’ll say to Zane “ i love you” with Zane of course saying it back. With the two still talking as we pan to the main biggest point here that being aphmau.
Now for the final bit of the episode and the biggest one to address Aphmau now rewind a bit everyone will say of course before they split off to their houses will all collectively hope each other is well and everyone will hug everyone but when they all go to their houses aphmaus left by herself (her choice) she will sigh as she walks in locks the door with sad music in the background and fade to black as the locking sound is made.
Where i dont know what to add is to what aphmau does in the episodes after and how aaron will be reintroduced but i wanted to specifically make the couples and correct me if im wrong but make them say there first i love yous the payoff afterwards though will be the final episode Aaron remembers Aph and they’ll then get there moment. Im open to additions to this idea if anyone wants to add and i hope you guys like it.

Before you downvote, I don't use the term "Mary-Sue" to imply I view these characters negatively. I do like them most of the time, but the term just seemed to encompass the idea the best.
I've literally only just started watching C-Dramas since I am on episode 5 of 'The Rebel Princess', but I have seen several summary videos on them besides that. I think I notice oftentimes the main character doesn't feel like a real person exactly. She seems more like a paragon of good that's just inherently better than everyone. Yes she might be headstrong, and despite it causing some issues, it's not exactly presented as a flaw. When she is behaving improperly, it is nothing more than an endearing quirk and is of little consequence. Although explicit flaws aren't necessary for a realistic-feeling character, it does feel kind of odd if they have no flaws and are also completely virtuous in every other regard.
If it is truly common, I assume it is so because storywriters are obligated to make characters that positively influence their young female watchers, as opposed to them being this way to please the audience themselves, since I find young women are often yearning for relatability when it is in short supply.

Out of all the episodes in the loud house I feel like this one really takes the cake for being the best! And that episode is “Really Loud Music” I adore this episode mainly because of the music segments. I loved how every sibling got their own song that sum up their personality in some way! Like with Lola loving to do pageants and having a liking to beauty. I also love the plot! Also later into the episode, it shows how the music industry can be and I really like how they represent it. Hi guys:) OMG, at the advice of my Dr., I was told to stay off the internet during the 2WW. Of course, that didn't work. It's been a whirlwind of emotion (4dp5dt)-gone from excitement, despair, to what the hell am I doing?! For many warriors, this journey has been a lot longer than mine (2.5 years), but it's taken 1.5 years just to reach the transfer. At the witching hour, my lining got up to 8.4mm (a miracle) and we transferred a 4AA tested embryo.
One thing I am NOT doing is urine tests, I can wait for the Beta. But holy cow, I run into the "failure" subs and I am nearly brought to me knees. The thought of multiple transfers is daunting and soooo scary. I've already done so much just to get to this one.
I've been pregnant from an IUI, but that failed at 5.5 weeks. For some reason, I've been holding on to the belief that by transferring a tested euploid, this would do it. I understand this is still a major gamble.
I know I'm one of many. I don't even know if I even am making any sort of point. Could I seriously get a baby from this? These subs, while amazingly powerful and helpful, can also take you to pretty dark places. We are trying so hard to get there. Hoping for the best for all who read. Any advice or successes are more than welcome.

Keeley/Roy: Together at the start of the season, the tension has become enormous. We see a horrible break-up coming from a place of insecurity from both of them. From Roy, perhaps b/c of jealously over Keeley’s incredibly successful Jamie Tartt campaign, overshadowing his initial success as a coach. From Keeley, perhaps because of Roy’s incessant flirting with Phoebe’s teacher. But she and Roy get back together happily, in a scene reminiscent of When Harry Met Sally (obviously set to “It Had to be You”).
Roy: Struggling with coaching, all the Jamie Tartt bonding stuff happens, but Ted inspires him to be a better coach by example and pep talks. Roy finally gets it and calls the last play that allows Richmond to take the title. He also realizes that once you know who you want to spend the rest of your life with, you want the rest of your life to start right now. WHMS scene follows.
Jamie: No notes, if you ditch the love triangle in the last episode. Also add an incredibly successful Jamie Tartt campaign.
Higgins/Will: Keep the Amsterdam stuff as a funny aside, lose the rest.
Rebecca: Dutchman tries to find her after Amsterdam, but she’s not sure she’s ready (echoing Season 2’s Sam closet scene). Following a heart to heart with Ted, she shows up on the Dutchman’s doorstep in the finale (after her Eat, Sleep, Fuck tour in the off-season), finally ready. No motherhood involved in the psychic visions or kids in his houseboat, but it’s raining, with thunder and lightening. They kiss.
Nate: Stays on at West Ham and becomes celebrated coach. Goes head to head with Ted in the finale, with Richmond winning because of Teamwork and Total Football. Shows up on Ted’s doorstep to finally apologize, only to find Ted has left. But their picture is on the mirror on the dresser in Ted’s room, and he realizes it was there all along. Breaks down in tears (talk with Dad happens in finale montage).
Ted: Helps Colin decide to come out through his words of advice and guidance. Helps Roy become the best coach he can be. Helps Rebecca take the leap with the Dutchman. Goes home but not before giving Rebecca a speech about not only the job changing his life, but Rebecca herself changing his life. She’s the best friend he’s ever had. In the end, Ted still coaches his son’s soccer league. He’s calling plays and hollering at the ref (demonstrating he finally understands “offside”), when Nate walks onto the sidelines and stands beside him. Ted says “hello Coach”. Nate says “hello Coach”.
Montage: Most of it is fine, except Trent is reading aloud from his book, which is called The Lasso Way, as we watch the scenes play out. Ted is at Beard’s wedding. Michelle is a bridesmaid, and she and Ted look at each other with a twinkle in their eye. The End.

I’m not sure if this counts as a spoiler anymore since the episode aired yesterday, but out of respect for those who may have busy personal lives I tagged it as such.
Now, I’ll admit up front that I’m biased because Jimbo is my all-time favorite drag queen (sorry, Jinkx and Bianca, but you’re still on the podium), but after last night I think she cemented herself among the all-time legends. Her Shirley Temple was one for the ages, and with it I think she just joined the pantheon of legendary queens in two iconic challenges. No joke, I would put her on the Drag Mount Rushmore of Snatch Game and the Talent Show.
I mean, far as Snatch Game goes, only six queens have won twice, and I would say Jinkx, Dela, Baga, and Jimbo were the best of the best. You could obviously make a case for Trinity and Ginger also and I wouldn’t argue, but that’s personally how I rank them.
But then I was talking to my bf and I realized that I would also put Jimbo on the Mount Rushmore of the Talent Show—pending of course if there’s a talent show on AS8 and how she does there. But for me, Casper the Bologna Ghost is up there with Tati’s spoken word, Juriji Der Klee from España 2 doing impeccable opera (“Carmen,” no less), and probably Anetra walking that fucking duck.
And honestly? Blu from UK vs. the World performing with Becky and Clair is not that far behind. (I know that’s a piping hot take, but idgaf. I laughed my ass off that whole performance and I could watch it on a loop all night. But that’s neither here nor there.)
Anyway. Just wanted to share some Jimbo-love and take a minute to recognize what an exceptional run she’s having. I’ve done a few meet & greets with Jimbo and she’s such a lovely person. You can tell she really appreciates her fans.
So here’s to Jimbo losing every lipsync on her way to the crown. Mama’s hungry for it, and she definitely deserves it.

...and it all seems like some sick joke, waiting to see the next big "climax". Each is more drastic than the last, as if life itself is trying to push me towards a mental break of my own.
I was never the most social type. I chose my friends early, kept them, and have maintained a few over the last decade or so. I can count my close friends and family on two hands, and that's the way I like it. But almost 9 years ago, one of my closest friends passed away after a long struggle with illness and addiction. He experienced a psychotic break due to amphetamine abuse, during which he experienced delusions and auditory hallucinations of his closest friends dying in torturous ways. His experience opened my eyes to another perspective to both drug abuse and the brain itself.
Fast-forward about five years, and I’m on the phone with my brother N. It’s late night, and he’s at his new apartment all alone. He hears my other brother B and his partner C (who live in a different state), saying terrible things about him in the hallway and he can’t believe they would fly such a distance just to torment him. I’m talking him through the experience, but he’s trying to snap photos of them from over the balcony, and I need to get off the phone and get in contact with somebody who can reach him faster than me.
Thank God my parents listened to me, and left their concert early to intervene. They drove him to a hospital, and after a few days, he came home. He got the hallucinations under control, but I still couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that I knew two relatively healthy young men who experienced these severe mental episodes. I just thought, “why does this keep happening to people around me?"
Of course, this is all before B.
I remember when C first reached out to us to explain the problems that B started experiencing. Prior to this, when he’d come to stay for a month, he exhibited manic and dissociated behaviors, but things were worse than we had seen. He was seeing visions in the skies, and feeling drawn to his higher purpose in the universe to a degree that surpassed earthly expectations. He would disappear in the middle of the night, converse deeply with strangers when compelled to do so, and lived in pure extravagance - despite his limited actual working hours.
After frustrating arguments with my husband about logistics and caring for my two baby girls (another stress entirely!) I ended up with two nights to go with my mother and try to take care of my eldest brother. We flew in on a Friday night, and once we checked into the hotel, we drove straight to his apartment.
The situation had already escalated prior to our arrival. My brother had already turned against his partner and his family. Since my mother made the mistake of defending them in her first minutes on the premises, he immediately turned against her. And so I went alone into his apartment, with the sole priority to gauge his mental state and determine just how “crazy” my brother had gone. My mom texted me from the outside, asking me continuously: “Should we call for help? How is he?”
Initially, I thought we could talk him into a hospital stay voluntarily - but anybody in a situation such as this might understand how difficult this can be. It’s no joke when Belle’s father is thrown into the back of a carriage and taken away: these situations are dangerous, and is there really any other way that they can go? My brother was unpredictable, and lashing out against those who wanted to help. He put a cigarette out on his arm, and carried a pair of scissors around in his pocket. He joked about the “devils” trying to keep him from being who he wanted to be, and to an extent, that may have been true. But in this moment, his stress and unhappiness had cultivated into a violent psychotic break that demanded professional intervention.
I don’t regret calling for help in this instance. I regret the fact that, at his age past 30, we had not drafted a written plan in case he needed this sort of medical intervention. In fact, there wasn’t any paperwork at all! As such, the police took my brother away, and he ended up in a shithole downtown for the homeless and forgotten - all because they could not share any information with us and we could not make any choices for him due to HIPAA, but he was not in the right mind to share information about his insurance or make any decisions for himself. And so the state took over, and he fell off of our radar. We drove from one police station to the next, from one hospital to another, but no luck,
B finally called my phone just before noon the next day. Thank goodness I had the same number since I turned 13 - it was the only one he remembered. The place they took him was a shithole - nothing like they promised, but what can you expect with an overloaded system like theirs? That just set the tone for the rest of our time, trying to get him in an outpatient program - trying to get him through an inpatient program - trying to get insurance to accept a program closer to us, or trying to find a program they’ll accept near home…
Life played out the way it did. There’s no right or wrong way anymore. This is just the way it happened, and nothing else will change it. In November of 2021, we realized my brother was sick. On May 31, 2022, he woke up and decided that he would leave us by any means necessary. That ended up being at a gas station pump in the middle of nowhere, in front of my father, who had the unfortunate job of trying to drive him to the hospital he liked in California.
And so my family began the “healing”(?) process. It took us four months to have a basic funeral, though it was just the close family and his ashes. C and his family flew out and spoke, and our closest friends supported us through the nightmare. C had already had some mental breakdowns of his own, but he was on medication now and his family seemed to be helping him through. We spent some time together, and he doted on my children, and delivered gifts from B that were intended for them. We took a rare photo together. I hugged him and told him to please, please stay strong for my family. My daughters loved their Uncle B, and he could keep his memory alive for them.
It was a hard and emotional time. I knew that B would want me to take care of his partner, no matter the drama between them at the time. I tried, with everything I had, to be there if he wanted me to be - but I was scared, and we are anxious people who value personal space. I didn’t want to come off too strong, but when he called me asking for permission to marry my brother in heaven, what could I do? I told him how much I loved him, and how much he already meant to me. I assured him that he was already my brother-in-law, that he had already been with my brother long past a common law marriage. Maybe that’s just the problem. Love is the strongest drug of all, isn’t it?
And so, less than a week and a half after that phone call, C went to find his soulmate through the same awful method of self-immolation. To his mercy, I heard that his soul passed much faster than that of my poor, beautiful brother. With an imagination like mine, it is not just the guilt… it’s just the whole fucking thing.
Well, if my circle is small, my living brother kept his even smaller. B and C were his best friends, and with them gone, I’m just impressed he has maintained any sanity at all. But now, as stress at work ramps up and his psychosis returns, all I can do is wait and see. This time is different: since I’m involved, he’s pulled away from me, and he won’t be as honest as he used to. His boss is listening in, there are cameras in the lightbulbs, and he’s been living on the “Truman Show” for a while now. He’s deactivated all social media to keep his boss from following him, and he’s currently been missing for 12 hours.
Everything feels hopeless. How much is one person supposed to take? I have three babies now, all aged 4 and under, and they need me to be strong. But I just feel so sad and broken all of the time. I had panic attacks before, but now? Am I doomed to follow the same path? I sleep okay, and I don’t abuse any medications, but god knows I’m a mess these days. I miss my family. I have no friends. My husband is working as hard as he can to help us.
I used to be able to count my circle with two hands. Now I’m down to one, and all the others have lost their mind and/or died. Why is this a thing now? How can I stay strong for my kids? I didn't know about this family curse until I was pregnant with my third... I don't know if I can keep watching this happen over and over again.

Inb4 "this one's actually unpopular"
Yes, I know that the last book in the main series came out in 2011, about 11.5 years ago. Yes, I know about that time Martin said his fans could throw him in jail if he didn't finish the manuscript by July 2020, and then didn't finish by that self-imposed deadline. I've seen and listened to all the Preston Jacobs videos and podcasts about the delays of TWOW (and refuse to watch the Nerdrotic ones, even at gunpoint). And I definitely get why people want a real ending to the story- season 8 of Game of Thrones sucked, and the story of the books really feels like it's nearing it's last act. But I still logically and emotionally understand what is taking him so long.
A Song of Ice and Fire is a truly EPIC series. It spans multiple countries and hundreds of main characters, all of which have deep, rich, entwining and interesting backstories and relevance to the plot. The total word count the main series (A Game of Thrones to A Dance with Dragons) is, 1,736,054 words long, according to Wikipedia. This is longer than The Hobbit (95,356 words), The Lord of the Rings (481,103 words) (according to Foster Grant) and The King James Bible (783,137 words, according to Word Count) combined (this combination being 1,359,596 words) . Hell, book 3 of ASOIAF alone is 414,603 words (Wikipedia), decently close the LOTR trilogy's total word count. Imagine how goddamn long and hard George had to work, plan, and write and write and write on this series. Then take into account his writings of the prequels and historical novels surrounding the peoples, cultures, geography, and histories of Westeros and Essos. And also writing episodes of the most mainstream cable television show of all time. And going to conventions, and doing interviews, and showing up to HBO offices to record video bites for Behind the Scenes content, and answering fan mail personally.

However, I do not entirely and unambiguously think George is correct in his delating. Personally, I believe that an author's creation of a series comes with an unspoken social contract with the fans, this contract being that as long as the fans continue to purchase a writer's stories, that the author will do their best to supply them with worthwhile (and existent) stories. Yes, I think that George has taken too long putting out TWOW. But unlike some others, I can understand why it's taken so long, and would have forgiven him for the delay if TWOW came out in 2021, a decade after Dance.

Random encounters suck.
Every 6 steps you get interrupted by samey combat against dull enemies who might not let you oneshot or flee from them.
It's not hard or challenging, just tedious. But you have to slog through this filler if the cheap bastards who made the bad RPG decided the resources gained from this dull combat, the loot or exp or gold, should be necessary to make forward story progress.
It gets in the way of appreciating the mood of an area, the setting, the ambiance, the level design, the music... and more. It numbs your senses and gets you to see the world in glimpses of dull movement between flashes of dull combat.
Honestly if part of a RPG is best fast forwarded through, skipping it entirely is often the best course of action. And if the game doesn't let you skip its bad parts or fast forward its bad parts, ask what makes them necessary. This isn't The Longing. This isn't Spec Ops The Line or Undertale. This isn't even YIIK. No artistic point is being made by the presence of repetitive grind and asset reuse. Green Day fans would lose their marbles if the next album had each track on a 10 track album play 12 times before you can move on to the next track. Mario fans would lose their marbles if the next Mario Odyssey made you replay the same world twice in a row. But fighting 30 Zubats in a row? Fighting 252 Whismurs and 252 Zubats and 252 Carvanhas for EV grind? Some people enjoy that. I will respext them if they respect why I am not a fan of that. You will die with some of the best songs unheard, the best shows unwatched, the best people unmet and the best games unplayed, and the same is true for me and everyone else. We recognize that a book is better if it can do more in less time. Editors exist for a reason. "If I had more time I would have written a shorter letter" is said for a reason. Effectively communicating something meaningful through your art is harder than padding out sections of meaningful story progression with filler content and randomly generated random words previously used in the story. Ever heard of a fantasy novel padding itself from 20k words to 50k words with this trick? At least a tv show's recap episode can do something funny.
There are RPGs out there that improve themselves by having properly designed encounters and a properly balanced difficulty curve instead of relying on long hallways and mazes or wide empty rooms with unavoidable potentially invisible random encounters. Honestly it is a simple tweak, the removal of random encounters, and it improves the game. It might even be the ultimate sign that thought went into the game's design, because it takes a lot of thinking to realize not all RPG design conventions must be dutifully followed in the name of tradition. You could inflate your steam playtime numbers by adding filler, or you could respect tbe player's time by not making grinding mandatory, removing random encounters, and designing the difficulty accordingly.
Though difficulty curve is a funny word to use when in bad RPGs there is no "difficulty" where your skill and intellect can matter, only the question of whether your numbers are high enough or if mindlessly grinding is necessary to raise them. Everyone's favourite RPG did something smart to elevate it beyond the combat you'll see in the earliest hours of any pokemon playthrough: Mashing A and selecting Tackle or Scratch or maybe a correctly typed attack, the gameplay equivalent of putting the square peg in the square hole when no questions like "Do I need this MP/attack usage for later?" are asked.
