2023.06.08 22:59 starfield_pro [TOTK] Let Me Simplify: TotK Is Saying Something Clear About Past Lore
TotK retcons OOT and the two can't exist in the same universe.
Rauru and Sonia found Hyrule for the first time ever. Their kingdom is on the great plateau, which later features OOT's castle town. All the stone bearers have the names of the sages, and these names are referred to in the names of the great beasts, so it's the TOTK stone bearers who are these sages.
Ganondorf is just a chieftan, who gains power to become the demon king for the first time in TotK. After he is imprisoned, Hyrule castle is forever moved to its BotW location to seal him.
There's no room for these events and for TotK's past. At least, at a minimum, BotW is in an alternate universe altogether.
Also the Hylians are dressed in the barbarian gear, and clearly treated the Zonai like gods who changed their weather in Faron. Similar to how the Rito have a legend of the Skywind Ark.
TotK is saying that OOT's story is what is presented in TotK's memories. There is no separate OOT in that timeline.
I personally think this means all Zelda games are just "legends" to the point where the Triforce is merely a manifestation of Zonai light power. Where Hylians believe they used to live in the sky but they are misremembering the joint kingdom with the Zonai (Lanayru mining robots bear Zonai eye on them). Where the stones, not the triforce, sealed Ganon. Where the dark world is the depths, not some other land. Etc.

2023.06.08 22:57 CatOfTheDecade Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence
I'm saying this as a Catholic:
I see
catholicism is having a mini-meltdown or something because Bishop Barron wants people to denounce the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Apparently they've criticized the Church or something. I don't know, I'm an adult with a full-time job and volunteer work on the side so I don't have time to keep up on whatever our Church is upset about this week. Anyway, various factions within the church are calling for
canceling some sports team.
A few years ago I asked my diocese to denounce The Catholic League for their 2018 response to the grand jury investigation into the widespread sexual abuse of minors, where they
said things like "no one was found guilty of anything" and "MYTH: the priests 'raped' their victims".
I got silence.
EDIT: Whoopsie, changed "canceling" to "boycotting". It's only "cancel culture" when other people do it.

2023.06.08 22:55 Accomplished-Art-301 How do you guys deal with a client that refuses to go to sleep when they’re clearly exhausted?
So I work for a caregiver company and this is my first caregiving position and client. I’ve been working for her for about 5 months now and things are going great. There’s one thing that worries me about her though and it’s that she’ll push herself to stay awake to do “important” things online. Sometimes it is important for her Medicare and social security but 90% of the time it’s trivial things that can wait such as going through her emails or downloading an app. She’s very technologically challenged and will often tell me she stayed up all night doing something as simple as ordering groceries off Amazon. Whenever I ask her if I can help she says no and that she’s got it or that she’s almost done but that’s rarely the case.
She often stays up for days at a time trying to complete these simple tasks online. She also often doses off while trying to do them and each time I tell her that it would be easier for her to do them after a nap or a good nights rest she insists that she HAS to get it done asap when that’s not the case. There’s days where I’ll come in and she’ll be struggling with an online task clearly sleep deprived and when I go in another room to clean or gather laundry for 5 minutes she’s falling off the bed with her phone in her hand half asleep when I get back. She’s dropped things, spilled food and drinks, lost things and has even hurt herself because of this. Usually when she falls off the bed or doses off in a horrible position it’s when I’m not there and I really worry about her outside of work.
I just don’t know how to go about helping her temporarily pause on these things and help her fixate on her real needs. My way of trying to convince her doesn’t work and I can’t force her to stop and go to sleep. I’m not a full on caregiver and I don’t have that authority. I’m more of a helper to make sure she takes her meds, eats, has a clean house and laundry, and drive her to the store and doctors appointments. You all probably have way more experience with this kind of situation than me and I was just wondering if anyone had some advice. Thank you for any comments.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix approximately in December 2023. In 2021, Sony and Netflix signed a five-year deal that gave the latter exclusive first-pay-window U.S. streaming rights for Sony Pictures titles after their theatrical and home entertainment windows. Fans can expect to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Netflix six months after the film’s theatrical release, thus in December 2023. The date seems reasonable considering that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse dropped on Netflix on June 26, 2019, six months after its U.S. release on December 14, 2018. The pay-one window usually begins about nine months after a film’s theatrical release, but it might start earlier in particular cases. This post will be updated once there is a 100% officially confirmed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Netflix release date.
When Will Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Be Available On Netflix?
Where will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse stream specifically? Due to an ongoing deal between Netflix and Sony (remember that these movies are not produced by Disney), Across the Spider-Verse will see Netflix as the streaming home for the film when it finishes its theatrical run. It will no doubt make its way to Disney+ eventually, as Disney and Sony do have an agreement for Disney to include Sony’s Spider-Man content in their offerings, but that will at least be some time after Across the Spider-Verse has come out on Netflix.
In terms of which of the streaming giants Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released on, Netflix will house the film upon its streaming debut. While again, Sony does not have its own dedicated streaming service, a deal was struck in 2021 between the studio and Netflix. The deal, stating that Netflix would stream Sony's films after theatrical release, was penned for 5 years meaning Across the Spider-Verse is part of the arrangement.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Disney Plus?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is also coming to Disney Plus approximately in 2025.
Once the pay-one window runs its time and Netflix’s exclusive rights expire, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on Disney Plus. The pay-one window might last as long as 18 months, which means it will be a while before Disney Plus subscribers can watch the much-anticipated sequel. Unlike in other countries, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse isn’t yet available on the Disney-owned streamer in the U.S.
While Sony's Spider-Man content is also streaming on Disney+, due to the collaborations between Sony and Marvel Studios in recent years, Across the Spider-Verse will be a Netflix release. While the deal struck between Marvel Studios and Sony may extend to this film, Disney+ is only allowed to begin streaming Sony's Spider-Man releases upon their release on Netflix. As a result, Netflix will be the first streaming service that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on after its theatrical release.
Regarding when the film will be available on Netflix, the answer is less definitive. The first film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, began streaming six months after its theatrical release. Based on this, it is safe to assume Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will see a similar gap between its cinematic and streaming releases. Given the film's theatrical release of June 2, 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will likely begin streaming on Netflix in December 2023.
Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be On HBO Max?
No, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

2023.06.08 22:54 ThisisgettingoldTedD Employer requiring relocation. Which would you choose and why?
Hey all,
I mostly lurk here however I got to thinking more and more about my current situation and decided I wanted to know the opinion of this sub. My employer relocates us every so many years based on project needs and the project in Columbus, Ohio is wrapping up.
In preparation for the project ending my employer requested I move to one of the following locations:
Jefferson City, Missouri
Lincoln, Nebraska
Phoenix, Arizona
Frankfort, Kentucky
Also on the table is an opportunity to switch jobs to one that offers full remote so if I went this route I’d either:
Stay in Columbus or
Move to Nashville, Tennessee where all of my wife’s family resides.
For some context, I am mid 30s male with a pregnant wife and dog. We own our home in Columbus and our current combined salary is around 170k range. I’m originally from the Midwest and love seasons, but my wife is from the South and enjoys the southern aspects of growing up down there. We enjoy city life but not the huge city life that say New York or Chicago have.
Giving those cities listed, I’m curious what you’d choose and why!

2023.06.08 22:51 PairResponsible452 Help: How do I help my 7 year old son cope when he's with his dad??
For background: My ex and I were together 15 years. I filed for divorce 3.5 years ago and we're still on temporary custody orders and have made little to no progress. I didn't realize I was in a toxic relationship until after my son was born, but I stayed - had another kid - and then finally had the strength to leave when he had an affair with their nanny. I've learned a lot, like BIFF and JADE, but I don't know how to help my kids.
I've recently noticed my seven year old lying to his dad. For example, his dad signed him up for an activity on the only two days I have them the full day. I wasn't informed of the activity until the day before and my son was recovering from a cold and didn't want to go. He begged me not to take him, so I didn't. He asked if we could go to the beach instead. I had my son send an audio message to his dad, because I knew he wouldn't believe that our son didn't want to go and would say I just didn't want to take him. I'd be under no obligation to take him, but if my son wanted to go, I'd happily put my feelings aside about his dad sneakily signing him up for an activity without my knowledge or consent on my time and take him. Immediately after he listened to the message, he called and asked my boy why he didn't want to go. He kept saying he just didn't want to. Eventually, I took the phone away and said we're not going. The next day the kids are with their dad, I get an e-mail saying, "XX said he wanted to go to the activity, but you made him go to the beach instead."
Either their dad was lying or my boy lied to his dad. I gently asked my son and he said he lied to his dad. "It's easier, mom. He is trying to make me say I want to go to the activity, but I don't want to."
At first I thought - ok, no problem. I'll take the hit. It's not the first time his dad thought i'd done something like that. It doesn't matter what he thinks. I know the truth and my son knows the truth. But when I woke up this morning, I thought maybe I wasn't doing my boy any favors. Maybe he can learn now how to handle disagreements with his dad. When we were married, I did the same thing - for the sake of ease - say what my ex wanted to hear. It helped in the short term, but really mucked things up in the long-term and I'm still coming to terms with how I let that happen for so long.
I have my boy in therapy and I've asked her how to handle it, but I also wanted to ask you. People who have been raised by a toxic parent(s). How do I help shield my children from the emotional abuse they've already been subjected to and will likely continue to experience???

2023.06.08 22:51 throwawayaccident69 Was served court papers over a fender bender 8 months ago
Alright where do I start?
in October of 2022, I was in a small accident in a commercial area in Newfoundland. I was at fault for the accident, but no one seemed hurt and damages were very minor. The other persons car received only cosmetic damage, and I had some damage to my front passenger side wheel which cost about $200 to fix.
I was trying to turn left into a parking lot, across 2 lanes. Someone in the lane closest to me stopped to let me go, and waved me. I took the turn (I know I shouldn't have), and got t-boned by an SUV. The SUV almost stopped when they hit me, hence the damage being very minor. I got out immediately and ran to the other car, there were 3 occupants, two in the front and one in the back. I had a chat with the driver and we exchanged insurance information. He was very kind to me and told me not to worry about it, and that stuff happens.
Cut to 8 months later, my dad texts me to inform me he was handed "court papers" by some guy in a dirty hoodie and hi-vis vest. It was not in an envelope, and it was given to my father, not me. When asked who he was, the person could not offer any form of identification and responded only by saying "I'm from the courts."
Within the letter, the passenger who was in the back of the SUV claims several different forms of damages, including torn ligaments in the shoulder, whiplash, persistent dizziness. They also claim that they have been unable to do household work and they want me to pay for the cost of their housekeeping. They also claim that they now require full time care.
The most insane part of this letter is their recollection of the story. They claim that I was speeding, and ran a red light, and t-boned them on the drivers side. I have photos and videos proving that this did not happen, and that the accident didn't even occur near an intersection. The statement specifically states that I was "devoid of any attention to the road"
Furthermore, the last page of the document includes a statement with some blanks left in it for me to fill out and "send back" to the law firm, stating that I agree to pay for the claims.
I am a college student who works 14 hours a week, I cannot afford a lawyer. I have no idea what to do guys

2023.06.08 22:51 Informal-City8831 Condescending mother-in-law
I am 32/F from India, married for 3.5 years now. My mother-in-law is overall quite nice in the sense that she doesn't impose much or demand much on day to day basis, is pretty adjusting so I can't FAULT her for anything grossly. But what I have noticed is, that while she is normally pretty easy to be with, in PUBLIC settings she suddenly turns into a sort of bully. And this behaviour leaves me utterly confused.
For example, if there is a small family gathering, she will say something really odd or inappropriate. Recently we had some acquaintance over who remarked about the impressive book collection at our house, and when I said it is mostly my husband's (as I don't get much time to read being a doctor), MIL said that the collection makes her feel how lonely her son is in the marriage considering my long working hours.
Another time, she had remarked how I imperfectly practise my religion because I used to mingle in other religions' practises as a child so I grew up to be (as per HER) not a perfect Muslim. She will remark how I don't wear sarees while someone else's daughter-in-law wears sarees (as if that's a trophy) and that I had required a visit to the salon to get my saree tied when I wore it once. When her sister's husband, a full-on misogynist, was explaining to me on a phone call from the US, that I better perfect my cooking skills because that is the primary requirement for each husband from his wife, she didn't utter a single word of defence in my favour, she couldn't say a single time that I do cook and I do all the chores despite my hectic schedules.
She recently shamed me for buying a big TV and refrigerator for my parents, even though I told her that we had rickety small TV and fridge while I was growing up and it was a family dream to upgrade, which I finally did with my money. To this she had to say that materialistic things held no value and we should all save money and donate to the needy. (while she accepts gifts from all her relatives, including iPhones and iPads and never uses any lesser gadgets than anyone else).
When my research paper got selected for presenting at a prestigious conference, she brushed it off when she learned that I didn't get a travel grant for free expense. She said "oh then what's the use of this".
Does it make sense? She won't say EVIL stuff, she won't be TOXIC per se, but her tone is tending towards mean, she will never portray any POSITIVES of mine when everyone gathers, and will say stuff which will always take me aback because it feels like a BETRAYAL of sorts to me. Because in my mind, I always felt that she is a nice, educated lady, has been working throughout her life, raised good sons. But then she goes on to insult me in public. And I as a person, am not good with comebacks or confrontations. I lose out that window of response while just weighing whether the answer would look too rude or disrespectful. I don't want to hurt anyone but I get TOO hurt in the process. Many times my husband would say he didn't notice what his mother said. He is extremely supportive and amazing but he kind of assumes that his mum IS like that by default and her behaviour is not specific to me (which is true to an extent). He has talked to her about this ESPECIALLY after the imperfect Muslim incident because I had cried a LOT after coming back home that day and for many days after that. All she had to say was, that she never meant any offence.
The point is, that even if she is weird and doesn't know where to draw the line, why should I bear the brunt of her weird tendencies, just because I am a soft target, just because I am more amenable to her micro-bullying? Her comments sting me. And I don't know how to tackle them. Do I ignore them? Do I express my displeasure? Do I spoil the atmosphere of the public gatherings? Do I confront her in public? In private? Will she understand? I earlier used to really like her and felt very comfortable with her, wanted to go good things for her and with her. But now after these public blows, I just maintain that daughter-in-law level of openness and candidness because I know that when 5 people will assemble, she will again find something to crib or mock about me.

2023.06.08 22:49 AlarmingWheel3399 A Practical method to successful hitchhiking
| 1- Choose a straight section of the road, rather than standing where the road turns. There are two important reasons for this. Firstly, standing at a turning point increases the risk of getting hit by a car that has no visual on you. Secondly, it is the most dangerous spot for cars to stop. It is also best to avoid bridges altogether, including the entrance, on the bridge, and around the exit area. Tunnels are a bad spot for hitchhiking too. The first picture show where you shouldn't be. Inside the road curve. The second picture demonstrates a safer place for you to be. Outside of the curve. 2- Your face is your profile, so keep it visible. Avoid wearing sunglasses, as drivers need to see your eyes within the brief one or two seconds they have to assess you and decide whether to stop for you or not. Without your eyes being seen, it can be difficult for people to trust you. 3- Don't look exhausted. Even if you're exhausted and have been waiting for a ride for hours, try not to show signs of fatigue or hopelessness. A tired posture screams: Not fun to travel with! Remember that hitchhiking is an exchange, and drivers often pick up hitchhikers for pleasant conversations. They may be looking to stay awake or simply bored of staring at the road. So what they really don't need is two more eyes staring at the road. They look for someone to have a cool chat with. When someone offers you a free ride, be generous enough to share some words, stories, or jokes with them. 4- Don't reject any offer. even if it's only a 4 miles of ride when your destination is 200 miles away. While it's not to say that expensive cars never stop, they usually don't. But you don't get to decide who will pick you up. There are countless cool people driving all kinds of vehicles. From big trucks to SUVs, Old sedans, sometimes fancy cars and even tractors. They will choose you. So stand there and wait for your turn to come. Trust me. It is always going to be an exciting surprise for you. Usually the one who you don't expect will stop for you. 5- Eye contact is crucial. Use your eyes to convey your message to passing drivers within those few seconds. Maintain eye contact and try to be playful and energetic to catch their attention. 6- Always have an escape plan, in case something goes wrong. However, being overly insecure can make the driver feel untrusted and offended, which might provoke negative behavior. Stay relaxed and confident, knowing you have an escape plan if needed. What you really need to know is that the driver is the vulnerable one. Cause at least one of their hands will be busy controlling the steering wheel. Their legs are busy down there as well, and they can not get their eyes off the road for a long time. Remember, in an emergency situation, which the driver wants to harm you, or changes the destination without your consent, your left leg will controls the brake, and your left hand will hold the steering wheel, giving you full control of the car and the ability to stop it quickly if necessary. 7- Choose a good spot to stand . It's a good idea to stand where cars are parked while waiting for someone to pick you up along the road. Look for parking lots near the road, gas stations, road restaurants, and similar places. Drivers of parked cars will have more time to observe you, analyze you and see your vulnerable humane side and understand that you're just someone in need of a ride, without any harmful intentions. 8- A smile goes a long way. Don't forget to smile. It breaks the ice and proves useful when interacting with strangers. 9- Avoid standing too close to passing cars or excessively thumbing for a ride. Someone who intends to pick you up will do so. In my experience, it was often when I stopped caring too much that someone stopped for me. They notice you standing there, so stay calm, enjoy watching surroundings, and trust that your ride will come. Being overly stressed about when your ride will arrive only makes it harder for you to get that ride and also will ruin your experience. 10- When it gets dark hitchhiking becomes challenging, and sometimes you have to walk along the road. Choose the opposite side, the side where oncoming traffic approaches. This way, you'll have a clear view of the cars coming towards you, allowing you time to react if they come too close. Use a blinking light or your phone's screen or flashlight to indicate your presence to drivers. There are applications available with red blinkers or siren lights that can be handy if your phone has enough battery. Good luck! Best regards to the asphalt! submitted by AlarmingWheel3399 to vagabond [link] [comments] |
2023.06.08 22:46 Brovahkiin3177 In defense of God's people
This is my experience and opinion on the matter of spiritual warfare. I see so many posts by so many young Christians who are suffering under the unfair criticism and condemnation of those who lack understanding and/or are cruel at heart. It tears at my soul when I read of their intense suffering, and thereby I am moved to share what I know about standing in the evil day and withstanding all to remain a bulwark planted in the grace and strength of Christ our Lord. Know that my words may not necessarily agree with your experience, and you will most definitely want to adapt that which I give you to a means that is most in line with your own needs as a person. I would not infringe upon your uniqueness, but I am sick of seeing God's people pushed around when they should be advancing mightily in the power of God Almighty. Our appointed time has come. The Holy Spirit is being poured out upon us. The Saints of the latter day, the day of Christ's appearing, are bold and mighty to behold. We are not the martyrs of the past. Jesus instructed us to own a sword. Shall we not use it then, when threatened? I say this: the sword which proceeds from thy mouth is sharper than a two-edged blade, and it divides to the very marrow of Spirit and soul. Bear in mind, my view of this whole topic of spirituality is that it has little to do with the outward trappings of religion and faith, but those things are useful for context--science and math is also just as essential in fully grasping the matter. I use Biblical analogy because it is the language of this subreddit. Let us begin.
So many use the scriptures to heap condemnation, when the path is rooted in love and thanksgiving. So many take Sola Scriptura to mean that God no longer speaks. The total narrative of Biblical scripture is complete in 66 books, and from Genesis to Revelation we do see God's plan revealed, but shall God stop ruling the Universe? Shall He stop speaking His will through the angels? Christ said this: I always see my Father working. How then shall we stop working? Have we not seen Christ? Have we not felt the power of the Spirit? Shall we not allow the Spirit to speak through us in our hour of need? Let us let God defend us, and let the Word which is fire and water proceed from our mouths.
Therefore, be strong in the LORD and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against these schemes and lies of Satan, who seeks to condemn you and steal your peace and joy. Our struggle is not against the fleshly person standing before us, but against the wicked spirit of Antichrist which has arisen in our world to use our own doctrines to beat us like wayward children. They know not that they beat God's own sheep, and He is quite displeased over the matter. These are the powers and principalities of darkness in high places Paul wrote of, and these are the lies of darkness we grapple and strive against--yet not with physical arms unless provoked; we seek to unbind those chains of negative and limited thinking, and root one in healthy reason and skepticism so that they might seek the Truth in an unbiased way(as much as that is possible, that is).
Therefore, put on the full armor of God so that in the evil day, when your family and friends attack you with words, or you are assaulted with bigoted words in the workplace, you will have the patience and wisdom to stand firm and hold to the high ground unto the last. You know the Truth about God. He is love. Buckle this Truth around thy waist and gird thyself with this knowledge. Put on righteousness as a breastplate: not outward righteousness, but the inward righteousness that God desires which transforms the outward. Do what is right from the heart so that your conscience is clean, and the Spirit will not be grieved, and thereby you will walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh. What is right you ask? To help others, and live in love and thanksgiving while being ready to take a stand for the innocent and weak. We are to enjoy life. God said it is good, and He is right. How shall we call the things God made for us and Him to enjoy together evil? If God wanted not to give us a thing, why would He? Therefore: do what you would like to do, but don't harm or exploit, take care of your temple, and do not violate the free will of others for it is the most sacred gift God has given us. Let peace be the shoes on your feet, and your dedication to de-escalation and brotherly kindness will avert many bad paths: a kind word turns away wrath. With all of this, prepare for combat, and take up the shield of faith: base your faith upon your experience. God loves you, and you know this: if you ask Him for anything according to His true will, He will do it. I have seen it. I see it every day. Reach for it. Take the shield. Lift it up. It is heavy, but it will keep you safe in the time of trouble, and you will not falter when the enemy strikes you with full force. He will break himself upon you like water upon a rock. With helmet of salvation in place, knowing that God has you in the palm of His hand and loves you no matter where you are in your journey, go forth with the sword of the Spirit in hand. This sword is not rote memorization of scripture; it is the very Word pouring from your mouth as though from God's throne to confound those who would dare mince words with one who has the mind of Christ and walks in the power of the Spirit. Like Steven, you shall stand and cut them to the heart, and in that moment they shall know that God is God, and He is on your side and not theirs. And then they will either repent, or they will condemn themselves by blaspheming against the Spirit within you.
There is more that stand on our side no matter what is seen. The Chariots of Fire are all around us: behold, the Saints ride them in the Spirit, with an angel armed with both bow and longsword to be their guardian. This is not the time of martyrs. This is a time of peace and the resurgence of our faith. Let us be like snowflakes: all different, and each with their own view, yet finding the same loving yet fierce Creator who loves and will defend those who are His. Glory be to God, and all hail our Lord and King, Christ Jesus the slain lamb, risen unto Glory. Praised be unto the One who lives forever and ever, amen. Grace and peace to all of my brothers, sisters, and queer archetypes who live in the Body of Christ. May God protect and defend you in these evil days.

2023.06.08 22:45 mr_boizoff The Noble Audio FoKus Mystique TWS Headphones Review. You don’t need it
| The first TWS Noble Audio headphones I’ve ever laid my hands on – the Falcon Pro – turned out to be pathetically shitty. Their sounding was actually something you could argue about, but the number of bugs and twitches… Oof! And, as I said some reviews ago, just don’t ever buy this nonsense for any money. What do you think happened just recently? A follower brought me their new model to review – and for this I’m thankful infinitely. No one can turn down a chance to tickle some $360-worth of headphones. No one. Alex, dear! If you’re reading this, once again – thanks a million! Well, enough introductions! Today we’re going to see if the latest John ‘Wizzard’ Moulton’s creation is a success. here come the Noble FoKus Mystique (hereinafter — NFM), the hybrid three-driver TWS headphones costing $360. https://preview.redd.it/nfyipmczuu4b1.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5e337dfe29ce27ee028e1bc1bbc5917968e429d While working on this review, the following software versions were used. - Headphone firmware: HP2068-ANC_20221117_v0.0.5
- Noble FoKus Android app: 1.4.6
What’s included Aside from the headphones and the case, the box contained the following stuff. - A set of eartips (3 pairs of single-flange and 3 pairs of 2-flange).
- A short USB Charging Cable (Type-A to Type-C).
- A soft bag.
https://preview.redd.it/ka69sd5cvu4b1.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69fe36202a80c2d8e2371018902ccb2274ca3d17 Build, materials, design The case seems to be made of 4-inch steel, no less. Huge case weight – that’s what you basically think when you first take that trunk. It’s really heavy, and it’s big… and pleasantly cool to the touch. It’s not steel, of course, – it’s aluminum. I think the manufacturer tried to create an aura of a premium product. Did it work? Not really: the lid is loose, and there are gaps at the joints. https://preview.redd.it/auiohtlivu4b1.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=98f9d4448cee2e268c744dff5aaba6ee9d1490b0 There are 4 blue LEDs on the front indicating the charging status. The rear side only sports a Type-C charging port. As for the insides, here are the unsurprising earpiece slots with a pair of spring–loaded contacts in each of them. The hardware reset button is located in between. The headphones sit firmly in their sockets thanks to magnets. As for the headphones themselves, these look like some extremely generalized ‘custom’ model. 3D-printed and varnished. https://preview.redd.it/1ss71zwkvu4b1.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3db3e08586417af911ebbb060dfbce4020a84284 Under the glossy surface, there’s a nice try to live them up to their name with tiny iridescent sparkles scattered all over. Well, it really does look ‘mystique’. There are blue LEDs under the backplates. And I actually like such design concepts, especially when plastic is used for the enclosures. Think of it: the metal headphones make you uncomfortable at +5 °C already, and it only gets worse with the temperature dropping down. I wouldn’t want my ears to freeze to the headphones! Ergonomics and comfort level Talking about fit and all, these are actually comfortable to use. The shape allows perfect fit without pressure in any area, and they’re still comfortable even after 3 hours of uninterrupted wear. But! This was my own personal experience. Will these headphones suit awesome to every user? I don’t really think so: the headphones are quite large. The Linkbuds S easily wrestle the NFM down in this competition. I’d like to point out the sound ducts, which are longer and thicker than those that are usually used in TWS headphones. These aren’t as long and thick as (porn joke – scratched) as the Etymotic ducts, but you’ll most likely have to play it with different eartips. https://preview.redd.it/2tdnqocovu4b1.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=70605f411c1ffab4dca710cc067af15a6b568f72 The included eartips, by the way, are excellent, especially the 2-flanged ones. They’re thin, they feel good against your ear skin, they’re perfectly soundproof and keep the earpieces in their places. https://preview.redd.it/lbcza59qvu4b1.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dcdab98ccf8640fb71bcf8574c901412e3897145 Now, let’s talk about additional functionalities we’re probably all used to with the headphones of the same or even much lower cost here. Well, there’s basically nothing to talk about. There are no sensors to detect if the earpieces are inside your ears, the talk-to-hear isn’t here. No active noise reduction, no multiple source connectivity, no wireless charging… Moreover, the control gesture configuration is very limited, and I’m going to cover this below. Want to know the exact battery level of the case? It’s a mystique, too. That being said, I don’t really have any issues with the NFM construction and ergonomics, but the overall usage experience and their set of function kill me. These cost $360, for Crust’s sake! These should be able to brew me a cappuccino every other hour! Mobile app I have some serious suspicion here: what if the audiophile proprietary apps are all developed by the same dumb cack-handed outsourcer? The Noble FoKus app has all the glitches we’ve seen with the Moondrop, the Audeze and so on. Updating the firmware to the same version? Yes, please. https://preview.redd.it/qnhvmiosvu4b1.jpg?width=540&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fc5a16bf56a9a3d760154f6fbfc8280e06bae7cf Buggy interface layout? Yep. https://preview.redd.it/cwtrgmkuvu4b1.jpg?width=540&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6fd5faf2717b20a9d4c180194e893155c934d453 Ridiculous setting names? Check. https://preview.redd.it/dpc6l41wvu4b1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f4a3bceb9989e0d6711fd0b2ce7b852f3f05bc0b But enough kidding. The app has the following main features. - Firmware updates
- Creation of custom presets via 10-band equalizer. And, you know, you can adjust the equalizer settings without necessarily playing any music. How do you like it, Audeze? Looks like your competitors have something of a breakthrough here!
- Enabling/disabling acoustic transparency
- Headphones battery level indication
- Reassigning control gestures
As for the control gestures, these headphones can detect single, double and triple taps, as well as tap’n’holds of different duration. At the same time, you can’t change action behind single taps: it’s always pausing and restarting playback on both headphones. The same goes for tap’n’holds. What you can change, (is to stop eating junk) are the double and triple tap actions. The trick is that you can’t learn about other gesture types, because there’s no in-app help section, alright? There’s also a user-specific incremental sound calibration feature: https://preview.redd.it/v4xvgwnxvu4b1.jpg?width=540&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d097e9956c333e33846d737b3a6d126cde9b2c8e …which makes the sound worse than before you calibrate it. Quick specifications overview - Design: in-ear closed-back.
- Drivers: 1 dynamic + 1 armature.
- Bluetooth version: 5.2.
- Supported codecs: SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX Adaptive.
- Multipoint connectivity: N/A.
- Active Noise Cancelling (ANC): N/A.
- Battery operation: 7 hours. The case has a battery capacity worth of 4 full charges.
- Water resistance: N/A.
- Case weight: 64 g.
- Headphones weight: 7 g each.
Just so you know: the WF-1000xm4 weigh 55 g (case + headphones). Sound: subjectively I’ve been testing these headphones for about 20 hours with Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone (AptX) and Hiby R5 (AptX HD) player as sound sources. With the default settings, that is before you learn what’s what with the equalizer, the NFM sound incomparably bad. The infamous John ‘Wizzard’ Moulton seems to be the sounding boss across the Noble Audio model range, right? I have no idea what kind of school of wizardry and witchcraft he attended, but he certainly skipped quite a lot of sound-related lectures. There’s some extremely inflated subbass and an annoyingly tutting top of the frequency range – and that’s quite all the NFM demonstrate right out of the box. The midrange here isn’t just a little bit lower than it should be – it’s freaking cut off. Everything is covered with a thick and stinky layer of something, which isn’t even subbass… It’s a noisy, gloomy stirring of sounds in the lower frequency range, seasoned with a piercing rough ringing. I mean, the default NFM sound is THAT bad, I’m not exaggerating in the slightest. Do I even need to try and analyze the sound stage width or any technicalities of the sound delivery? You wouldn’t try to describe the taste of your punch even if there’s only a wee piece of turd floating in that bowl, huh? You want to know how many turds there are in the NFM punch? Probably half of the bowl. This is why I rushed to tune the NFM sound right away using my measuring rig and a proprietary app equalizer. https://preview.redd.it/jxseblhzvu4b1.jpg?width=485&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dc662ea27fc96cabdc77c2e50e437fe5cae1337a When this happened, the sound’s got a lot better! Of course, I couldn’t stand a chance against that overinflated subbass, but at least it doesn’t harm your hearing anymore – it became a tasteful thing suitable for many music genres. Who’s the real wizzard now, Noble Audio? Thanks to the same methods, the headphones quit mumbling and are now delivering the sound just somewhat more heavily than the original recording material is. Mid-frequency range. It emerges, it becomes audible, it’s now clearly present in the tracks. And, I must admit, this can easily be one of the best midrange interpretations I’ve ever witnessed! That armature drivers can do their trick here, or it could be anything else – I don’t know! My only question in here is how could you manage to mutilate the sound that much with the default setting! After equalization, the middle frequencies become accurate, clear, a little finer (than I personally like it) and pleasantly spicy. That’s a very good midrange, guys. The upper frequencies somewhat fall into place – or at least around that place. These only clearly and unpleasantly dominate in some unfortunate tracks. A feeling of ‘airiness’ and of actual width of the sound stage emerges. What I’m trying to say is that after the equalization, the NFM sound moves from the Beats Audio and pals league to a completely different category and competes with the WF-1000xm4, Linkbuds S, Airpods and other models with really good sound. It’s not easy to pick a winner in that second category, since sound tuning is a matter of personal taste and the equalized sound doesn’t differ any dramatically. In terms of sound stage volume, however, the NFM are really-really close to winning the race. Measurements The measurements were made using a rig conforming to the IEC60318-4 standard – with an auricle and auditory canal simulator. The smoothing is indicated on the graphs. I’ve described the limitations of the rig and the headphones measurements in general in this article. The frequency response curve is so bad here, that I’ve literally found myself stuck. For, like, the third time in my measurement life. I couldn’t decide how to position the graph relative to the target curves so that I could evaluate the sound essence in a more or less adequate way. And that’s what I came up with. This one is the default NFM tuning: https://preview.redd.it/lr8rdqs1wu4b1.jpg?width=1800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4072beba91fe1a2a82e85c0d0ac2b252f8b5f586 As you can see, the subbass is raised by 12 dB (which is 4 times a norm), the middle is lower by 3 dB across the entire graph, but look at that Everest Mountain around 7.5 kHz! ‘Kinda looks Harmanish’ to you? Nope, it’s not Harman here: https://preview.redd.it/q4fis1m3wu4b1.jpg?width=1800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55cabd12645b1b8aeb0b01c8ed38197c3a27ec92 After equalization, the sound delivery is much smoother, although these peek-a-boos around 20 and 7.5 kHz won’t go away: Summary I can’t quite put a finger on a type of audience the Noble Audio chose as their target one with this model. Can’t even think of any target audience at all. Look at the price – it’s $360! Pay this, and only get any decent sounding only after you somehow pick an equalization set correctly, as well as a very limited set of additional features and a pretty dumb mobile app. Wouldn’t be happy about the purchase, if you ask me. Oh, and don’t forget a number of technical glitches such as unstable connection to the sound source. I daresay that the Linkbuds S, for example, sound somewhat similarly to the NFM in terms of technical execution. But for half an NFM money and with a whole lot of cutting-edge advanced features on top. Moreover, the Linkbuds S don’t depend on the Qualcomm chipsets, because the LDAC is used in them. The sound is never interrupted, too. Why is that you don’t notice Noble Audio users around you – in the bus, at work, in the gym? ‘Cause no pain – no gain. You can’t just take a renowned brand name, add some ENT knowledge and old successes – to reach any good results, years of constant tries and improvements are needed. Improve the hardware! Refine the freaking software! Get some intel from your competitors! And set adequate prices, that’s it. My sentence is: don’t buy these. And if you like such a tuning, try considering the Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro. submitted by mr_boizoff to headphones [link] [comments] |
2023.06.08 22:45 SilentDecode I honestly don't know anymore what is going on.. (Unifi question)
I really can't get my APs (U6-Lite) to work again.. I'm out of idea's on what to do about this and I can't figure it out why it simply doesn't work.
The controller sees the AP, starts to adopt it, but doesn't go further than 'Adopting'. The light doesn't change on the AP, the controller doesn't say anything differently and I've been trying this now for almost half a day to get it working.
The controller is a VM on a ESXi host. This shouldn't be the issue, because I've been running controllers for these same APs on the same network, for years on end without any issues.
Some facts about the VM:
What I have done to make it work:
- Change controllers
- Reset the AP (maybe 30 times by now...)
- Put the AP in a different VLAN (the same VLAN as the controller)
- Updating the controller (7.3.xxx to 7.4.156)
- Rebooting the controller
- Putting the controller back to defaults
- Resetting the APs some more...
- Manual set-inform on the APs (this means I can get to the via SSH)
- Unplugging the APs from the PoE+ Injector (these are the 60w Ubiquiti PoE injectors by the way. More than plenty of power for these APs)
- Checked DNS (because why not), but that's all set correctly and I'm not using DNS with my AP and controller anyway
The rest of the network:
- CAT5e cables (all less than 30m)
- Dell 2824 gigabit switch, that has been doing work for me the past 6 years
- Dell OptiPlex as a Sophos UTM firewall. Nothing changed here.
What got me in this mess?
I wanted to host a controller on docker. So I "phased out" the older VM and migrated everything to docker. The trouble started here. Since the start, I've been working on this for a few hours and didn't get it working with docker. So I phased out the docker solution and went back to my VM. Now this one doesn't work either. I just don't know what to do next.. I'm out of ideas what it could be..
Could anyone give me some insight or help on what is going on here.. I'm litterally tired of this shit and I simply want it to work again. Currently I have a WiFi-free-house, and the other people here are not quite happy about that.

2023.06.08 22:43 Buck_Joffrey Wealth Formula Episode 372: What You Need to Know About AIv
Catch the full episode: https://www.wealthformula.com/podcast/372-what-you-need-to-know-about-ai/ Buck: Welcome back to the show, everyone, today. My guest on Wealth Formula podcast is Shashank Shekhar, founder of Insta Mortgage. After starting his business in possibly the worst year for financial markets. 28, Shashank has led the company to be one of the fastest growing mortgage companies in America, helping thousands of families secure better financing for their homes in 2017 and 2021. InstaMortgage, which is formerly known as Arcus Lending, was named to the INC 500 list of the fastest growing private companies in America. Shashank, welcome to the program.
Shashank: Thank you for having me, Brooke.
Buck: So, you know, first of all, tell us a little bit about your company in that. And, you know, like I think one of the things I really want to get into is the technology aspect. But tell us a little bit about your company and what makes it different.
Shashank: Yeah, so it's two mortgages really founded on the tech first approach to mortgage lending, as we know is one of the industries that has kind of remained archaic in terms of just providing the consumer experience, how the process works, and some of it is regulatory meeting. As a lender, we can make any make any changes. The government asks us to originate alone and in a certain way there is not much you can do about it.
I'll give you an example. We created the record for fastest from an application to be ready for close in 6 hours, six and a half hours in the industry. But see, APB requires us not to close a loan for seven days after we take the application. So that's. That's what I'm saying. And some of the things that we are doing, we are kind of hampered by what the what the regulation brings. But other than that really is the mortgage approach is towards speed, towards making it more streamlined, user friendly. And we do that by a lot of technology implementation that we have done. Some of it grown in-house at instrument and some of it that we've used our partners to build.
Buck: One of the things that I understand that you guys are using a lot of is some of this artificial intelligence. Let's let's start with something basic, I think. But this is not necessarily a technology group, but, you know, maybe you want to start with like sort of the concept of what Shashi Petit is and, you know, kind of take take it from there and explain how some of this might apply to your business.
Shashank: Yeah. And anyway, I'll probably back up even a little bit more and just just explain artificial intelligence. I know the audience is pretty smart, but one of the things that we see all the time and it's this not just in the mortgage industry is is that a lot of it being is what we are hearing, especially people ask two or three years is that this is a driven we it everything seems to have the word A.I. in it. It's like crypto or blockchain from a couple of years.
Buck: Yeah, I guess 100% right. And yeah.
Shashank: One thing I wanted to explain to the audience is that not everything is the AI, and just because they say it's to write artificial intelligence essentially is is the is when machine is able to do some things that humans do, they're able to recognize speech, they're able to make decisions like humans do when something is programed to do something that's just advanced programing, like if I had a chat bot and I programed it with every possible question that would ask when Buck would come to my website, that's not artificial intelligence. Me look smart. Oh, I'm asking you, do I need a mortgage? And it knows the answer. I want to can be connected to a loan officer and it knows the answer, but it hasn't been programed to do that, that we preempt the questions that you might possibly ask, given our experience that when users come to the Web site and ask these questions, that's not artificial, since artificial intelligence is usually a huge amount of computing capacity, that's required for a machine to learn by itself, even something as basic as if a machine were to recognize if this picture is of a cat or not, that will require it to be fed hundreds and thousands of photographs of cat for it to figure out a pattern saying this is how cats look. And on the other side also fed hundreds and thousands of pictures that may look like a cat, but it's not a cat. Might be a baby lion or a baby tiger that has paws and whiskers and small, but they are not cats. And and then it's able to figure it out through machine learning, through through hundreds of attrition. That's not a cat. So that's artificial intelligence. And I just wanted to throw that out as because search terms, we are like, oh, this is artificial intelligence or it's AI driven, but it's not always the idea.
Buck: Yeah. So really, I think like when I think of it, I maybe, you know, just for clarity, maybe you can correct me if I'm wrong, but it's really like a learning system, right? It's, it's, it's not just preprogramed information. It is literally sort of learning on the go. So it's, you know, it's going to take information that comes in. It's going to take questions that come in. It's going to learn from those things and potentially create more efficiencies because it can start, quote unquote, thinking rather than simply spitting out preprogramed information.
Shashank: Absolutely. And that's why and that's where I think GPT comes into us, as you asked us, that it's a job to please is a truly AI model. And what's revolutionary about it is really so far practically all artificial intelligence that I've seen before. Chad GPD has been about solving a specialized problem. So it could be about how to become a better writer. So it could do copywriting for you or to become better marketer, or you're solving one problem or the other. And that's why artificial intelligence was mostly being deployed, charging beauty for the first time at a very mass level really brings a generating by origin by meaning it didn't plan sort of it at least aims to solve for hundreds and thousands of problems and not just one last I checked. So in the real estate industry, AI and chatbots like ChatGPT are having a significant impact. One area where they are being utilized is in customer service and support. Chatbots can handle customer inquiries, provide information about properties, and even assist with the mortgage application process. They can answer commonly asked questions and provide a more streamlined and efficient experience for potential homebuyers.
Additionally, AI is being used in data analysis and predictive modeling. By analyzing vast amounts of real estate data, AI algorithms can identify trends, patterns, and insights that can help real estate professionals make more informed decisions. This can include predicting property values, identifying investment opportunities, and assessing market conditions.
Furthermore, AI-powered virtual assistants are becoming more prevalent in the real estate industry. These assistants can help automate tasks such as scheduling property tours, sending notifications to clients, and even providing personalized property recommendations based on the client's preferences and requirements.
Overall, AI and chatbots are revolutionizing the real estate industry by improving customer experiences, enabling data-driven decision-making, and automating various aspects of the real estate process.
Buck: It's fascinating. So in your business, you mentioned that AI is streamlining the underwriting process for instant mortgages. Can you elaborate on what aspects of the underwriting process AI is helping with to reduce the timeline from 45 days to just a week?
Shashank: Absolutely. One of the things AI can do is bring efficiencies to the table. For instance, loan guidelines in the mortgage industry are extensive, similar to the complexity of the IRS tax code. It can take a significant amount of time for underwriters to sift through hundreds of pages of program guidelines to find specific information related to unique borrower situations. AI can analyze the guidelines and identify the relevant sections more efficiently. It can also pinpoint bottlenecks in the process, allowing for improvements to be made.
Furthermore, AI can assist in automating tasks and providing quick access to information. For example, I recently experimented with a Facebook language model that can be installed on a local device. By uploading relevant documents, such as research papers or industry-specific information, you can create your own repository of knowledge. You can then ask questions and receive answers based on that information, streamlining the information retrieval process.
Buck: That's interesting. It reminds me of the open-source nature of blockchain technology. Do you see any similarities between AI and blockchain in terms of their potential and openness?
Shashank: There are some similarities, but they also have distinct differences. Blockchain technology has generated a lot of excitement in the past, and it's still relevant. However, it has been closely associated with cryptocurrencies, which have faced some challenges. This has caused some people to shy away from blockchain.
But blockchain technology has applications beyond cryptocurrencies. For example, in the real estate industry, it could revolutionize the process of title transfer. Instead of going through county courts, titles could be securely held on a blockchain, and smart contracts could automate the transfer process upon receipt of payment.
While blockchain may have lost some favor recently, it doesn't mean it has lost relevance. It's just not receiving as much attention and investment at the moment. However, both AI and blockchain have the potential to transform industries and improve efficiency in different ways.
Buck: I guess the comparison I was trying to make is less about comparing them as the same type of thing, but more about looking at it as an open-source opportunity for people to develop.
Shashank: The interest in it is huge. By the way, if anyone wants to test it, go to GPGforall.io. Even if you have zero programming skills, you can hire someone on Upwork. I'm not a programmer, and I got someone to do it for me. It took him less than 30 minutes. The instructions are step by step, so even if you can't do it, someone else can.
Buck: Let me write it down: GPT4all.
Shashank: Yes, "for" is the number 4.
Buck: Okay, dot IO. Fascinating. Let's see what I can come up with.
Shashank: Very cool. So yeah, let's talk a little bit about your business too. You guys are obviously doing really well. To be honest, I'd never heard of Instant Mortgage. Is this available in all states?
Shashank: We are in 28 states, so not all states yet. But those 28 states account for about 70-75% of all mortgages in the US.
Buck: Mostly in California, right?
Shashank: Yes, I'm here in Silicon Valley.
Buck: Right, got it. So, how does the process with Instant Mortgage compare to other mortgage companies?
Shashank: If you go to InstantMortgage.com, you will see that our entire smart application process is way more advanced than most of the industry. We start underwriting the moment you start entering the application. By the time you finish the application in your own borrower's portal, you will already start seeing the documents we need and the signatures required. The loan is almost half underwritten by that point, which is probably the fastest you will see in the industry. We also have a user-friendly borrower's portal that provides transparency on your loan's progress. We have 100% transparency on where your loan is and what's required from your end. You see all the loan dynamics at that point in time. The entire user experience is very advanced. We still have expert loan officers and processors in the back end, so it's not just a technology solution. You get expert advice as well.
Buck: Is it easy to get pre-approvals with Instant Mortgage?
Shashank: We have something called a prequel where you don't have to go through the entire process. In 90 seconds, you give us some basic information, and we run a soft check on your credit. It does not impact your credit score. Then we run the entire guideline underwriting engine and give you a prequel letter, which is the fastest in the industry. If you just want to understand how much you qualify for and you're not ready to make an offer, you don't even have to reach out to us.
Buck: So primarily residential, including jumbos and all that. Any limitations on the residential side?
Shashank: We also do commercial loans, but the process and user experience would be very different and take longer.
Buck: That is fascinating. One last question for you. Who is Rachel and how did you create her?
Shashank: Rachel is the mortgage industry's voice-first digital human. We started with websites, then moved to chatbots, and now digital humans are the next evolution. Rachel is more advanced than Siri and Alexa because she has a face. You can interact with her through speech, video, or text. You can ask for jokes or talk about non-mortgage-related topics. We just launched her with Jeopardy, so she can answer Jeopardy questions too. It's a pretty advanced concept in terms of user experience.
Buck: So the business is Instant Mortgage at instantmortgage.com. This is really fascinating stuff, Shashank. I appreciate you being on the Well Formula podcast today.
Shashank: Sure, glad to be here.
Buck: We'll be right back.

2023.06.08 22:43 DoubleElk9934 I am an abuser. I really want to find a girlfriend but im afraid that im an sociopath abuser.
Hello everyone. I think im turning into a monster everyday. I am a male (teenager). I think im not ok and not normal. To begin with, i had a normal, fun experience at Kindergarten. It was fun. I didn't understand a word, everything was fun and games, i was a kid. At primary school, i got my "traumas"or bad experiences. My mom told me to work hard (i was six years old) and study hard. I was getting the best grades, and i had girls. Everyone loved me unconditionally, i had friends, peers etc. This continued for the first two years. At the following years of primary school, i would have the consciousness, to hear, understand and mimic my parents behaviour. My parents were toxic. My dad would always curse at my mom and say her words like : btch, he, lesbîan, stupid etc. He was clearly abusive and when under pressure, he would give my mom slaps and beat her ( not so badly ). He would also make racist comments about my mom. Dont blame my younger self but, i adopted this bad vocabulary to my mom and family. My dad was never there, when i needed him. I recently learned, he was abused by a gang of three, when he was 8 years old. He never got through it (trauma). My mom was strict, had always an angry expression to the slightest misbehavior. She would tell me to be a nerd. She would punish me for not cleaning my room, with a whopping punishment. When i didn't feel like showering, she wouldn't let me sleep as a punishment. (She was on my room for the whole night singing loud nonsense, just because i didn't shower. So the next years at primary school, i didnt have friends. I was just speaking with another nerdy boy. The last two years of primary school, were BULLYING years. My worst period. My mom was from the same country as my bullies mom. So they had been somehow friends. My mom would tell me to bring my bully to my home. I explained to her that he was clearly a BULLY. He bullied me for my body. She never took me seriously. My bully was well behaving at my home, and my mom was giving him consumables (food). When he would go to his home, the food my mom gave him, would be thrown away. Imagine how painful it would be, bringing your Bully to your house ! When my mom realised that i got traumatized of this, she cried and apologized, and told me that she wants me to be thriving. I had ( and still have growing rage ) for my bully. So i confronted him. I told him that he ruined my life. He immediately responded. - "i like ruining your life". Omg! I got stunned by such an answer. My already introverted self would meet the quarantine of Covid-19 pandemic. It lasted for about two years. These two years my parents poisoned me mentally. They brainwashed me more into the idea of going out is bad. They already told me to never get out to socialize, but now they had a reason. I never had friends. These two years, i never got out ! Ok, i got out 1,2 or 3 times for just 5 minutes. Every kid, didn't give a fck about Covid-19, and would go outside and have fun with friends, while i was sitting home, seeing my mom being abused. She was so miserable, when she was wrong, she would always remind me that she stayed with my dad, because she "wanted to raise me right". My dad, would always, till today call me names like : bullied, "why did you poop such a big shit, did anyone fck you up"? In rare instances, where i would get outside, he would tell me : "why are you getting outside, you go outside to get your drg dose?" When i wasn't getting outside, and obeyed him, he would ask : " why dont you get outside? Did you get fcked up?" I mean, i was a boy back then! No offense but im not gay. And im not a dr*g addict ! I was a kid ! I fell into gaming and got addicted more. Now, i get the torture of seeing my bullies succeed. I suck at school. Everyone else at my classes, is a kid ! I lost the ability to be a kid because my silly parents/bullies ruined it. When i go outside im an complete angel. When im at home, i am abusive to my own abusive parents. I still dont have friends. My school mates are all kids and have fun, while im sitting with my social anxiety, as a quiet kid. my teachers tell me " you give school shooter vibes " everyone treats me like a criminal. I hate society. My parents would always fight with me, and i would apologize, and the circle continues. I wish i had a better childhood, because you see, i cant treat my childhood wounds. I want to make all pay. Its like my own parents plotted to ruin my life. They ruined my social skills. • I never played with my peers. I would always stay at home. I have low/no friends • I became abusive. My parents were abusive, they apologized, i apologized, and the vicious circle continued from the beginning. Its like they tought me to be abusive. • I got a trauma from being bullied. • i became a sociopath i guess. They would always tell me to be kind outside so that our family had a good image. • I got addicted to gaming because otherwise i would lose my mind in such household. • i guess i will never get myself a loving wife, im full of misery, and im furious. • i cant start a proper conversation. • i got addicted to fapping. Now i stopped it. •I wish i never slap my mom. Sadly i slap her regularly, in emotional outbursts, but she deserves it. •I curse at my father. He was the most weak father figure. •I lost trust in society. I literally cried for help to teachers when i was getting bullied. They saw it. They did nothing. • I became a quiet kid. • I have childhood nightmares. Give me a reason not to suicide. And when i say it and i mean it, my mom will laugh at me, saying that im a coward and i will never do such a thing. She is basically provoking me. My parents cared for an overall image of what the society thinks about them. I always had a food to eat, but thats not the problem. The problem is my mental health. Sadly, now i understand what my family did to me. Im 16. I want to have a relationship and when im older to have kids. Not being an abusive sociopath with no friends, being called psycho by all. I really need help. I think my character is already forged. I think i have 2 faces. The one face is for society, and the other is my abusive behaviour at home. I dont feel any guilt for hitting my toxic mom. Even when she cries of me being abusive. She created it. Im so mentally sick. Please guys if you write something helpful, do it. I really want to know my mental problems. I have hit my toxic mom, and my dad. I really dont like their old minds. I want to recover. I want to find the girl of my dreams and actually keep her. I dont want to be an abuser. Im afraid that i may use by mistake/ or make a habit saying such words and doing such actions to my potential future gf. I love you all. I hope its just puberty, but its likely not.

2023.06.08 22:42 SharpTooth5805 Recovery post (Long COVID/CFS)
Hey guys, hope you’re all doing well! Some great news, after almost 20 months of hitting long Covid, I think I have come close to full recovery. I don’t know if it’s just time or wonder works but I felt like my recovery started to upscale when I indulged into alkaline water. Note that my symptoms were mostly POTS-like, neuro in nature, some acid reflux, heartburns, and just crazy DPDR and brain fog. But after drinking samples of alkaline water for about 3 months now (as of publishing this) that actually came from an ionizer, I felt gradual improvement. If you think about it our body is 70% water and that’s a huge portion, so changing the water we drink might just be the missing link. I’m not saying it might help everyone 100% but it’s just my theory, I wouldn’t take this is as a medical advice either. Just felt overall more hydrated and it just felt like a miracle cure in a couple of months. I could finally actually think clearly again, and as I’m typing this I just feel like I would never imagine a moment like this again in my life. There’s hope guys, I know you guys prolly want me to skip to the real deal and that’s the alkaline ionizer machine that helped me its the one from enagic USA. There are a lot of low grade ionizers out there in Amazon. Been there done that, no they don’t work. I bought mine from Grecalda’s link, if you need it just let me know, he introduced it to me and I couldn’t believe it at first, thought it was a scam for the price but there are cheaper options. At this point I would do anything to get better and I did. It was worth the money, I’m still using the ionizer today and it just needs annual cleaning which is cheap. Thank God for this! Keep charging everyone! We got this! More research is being put! And oh if you want to get the place to buy it, just let me know. They have cheaper options that might just work.

While Paramount has announced no streaming plans at this time, big-budget blockbusters like Transformers: Rise of the Beasts typically become available on streaming roughly ninety days after their theatrical run begins. Given that the Transformers franchise rights currently belong to Paramount Pictures, it's more than likely that we'll see the next Transformers film come to Paramount+ once the movie decides to indulge in a streaming release. While not every film from the franchise is currently available on the service, it's hard to imagine that Paramount wouldn't put a big recent release like this onto their own service.
No, Transformers Rise of the Beasts is not yet streaming, so you’ll need to zoom your way to the nearest cinema if you want to see it. Transformers Rise of the Beasts is too busy shaking cinema walls to be on Netflix just yet. But we’ll keep an eye on the streamer’s catalog and let you know if the new Transformers outing does show up in the future. The streaming giant has a massive catalog of television shows and movies, but it does not include 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.' We recommend our readers watch other dark fantasy films like 'The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.'
Is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts coming to Disney Plus?
Transformers Rise of the Beasts is not on Disney Plus, and we doubt it will end up there any time soon. The new Transformers movie is a Paramount production, so it’s not likely to end up on the streaming arm of a rival studio. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, the latest installment in the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts franchise, is coming to Disney+ on July 9th! The simple answer is, probably not, since Paramount Pictures make “Transformers” films, and so this means that the new movie will be streaming exclusively on Paramount+, following a theatrical and digital release.
However, the previous “Transformers” films are spread around a number of different streaming services, depending on what country you are in, due to long-running contracts between the studios and streaming platforms.
Is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts on Amazon Prime?

However, the film may eventually release on the platform as video-on-demand in the coming months.fantasy movies on Amazon Prime's official website. Viewers who are looking for something similar can watch the original show 'Dororo.'
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Will Stream On Paramount+
Transformers: Rise of the Beast is expected to be available to watch via streaming on Paramount Plus by September 9, 2023. Paramount+ is where Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will stream upon its release. Paramount has been in charge of the Transformers movie franchise since it began in 2007 and thus is responsible for releasing every entry in theaters. While the studio might have previously sent its movies to other streaming services like Netflix, the shift to focus more on the development of its own streaming service Paramount+ has changed this tactic. That is why Paramount has released its other major recent blockbusters like Top Gun: Maverick or Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves on Paramount+ after their theatrical runs conclude.
Want to know how to watch the Transformers movies in order before Rise of the Beasts roars into theaters? You've come to the right place. The seventh entry in Paramount Pictures' Transformers film franchise arrives in cinemas worldwide on Friday, June 9, so you don't have much time left to watch its predecessors at home. But, if you're planning to cram them all in before catching Transformers: Rise of the Beasts this weekend, we're here to help you work out how to watch them in chronological and release date order, and we'll also tell you which of the world's best streaming services have them as part of their movie libraries.
So, if you're ready to be reunited with Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and company – and get the lowdown on every Transformers film to be released so far – read on.
Here's How and Where You Can Watch All of the Transformers movies
The best place to start is finding out where you can watch all of the Transformers movies in order in the comfort of your own home. If you're subscribed to Paramount Plus, that's your answer – well, for five of the six films, anyway. Paramount's primary streaming platform is home to the Michael Bay-directed trilogy – Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The streamer's film library is also home to the two Mark Wahlberg-starring flicks, Transformers: Age of Extinction and Transformers: The Last Knight.
● Transformers (released on July 3, 2007)
● Revenge of the Fallen (released on June 24, 2009)
● Dark of the Moon (released on June 29, 2011)
● Age of Extinction (released on June 27, 2014)
● The Last Knight (released on June 21, 2017)
● Bumblebee (released on Dec. 21, 2018)
Potential users looking to watch this quintet of movies will want to check out our Paramount Plus price guide to see how much it costs to sign up. Alternatively, you can get the lowdown on whether a Paramount Plus free trial is available, so you can try the service out without paying any money to stream the movies. Unfortunately for Paramount Plus UK and Australian-based users, the sixth entry in the action sci-fi franchise, 2018's Bumblebee, isn't available on British shores as part of the package.
US subscribers can catch Bumblebee on Paramount Plus (and Fubo, for what it's worth), but UK and Australian fans will have to look elsewhere to get the full Transformers movies in order experience. Here's where UK and Australian viewers can watch Bumblebee instead:
● Australia – rent or buy via the Amazon, Apple TV Google Play, Microsoft, or YouTube stores
● UK – rent or buy via the Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, Microsoft, Rakuten, Sky, or YouTube stores
Will Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Be On HBO Max?
No, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Paramount Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
Disney may have made billions with last year’s mega-blockbuster Avatar: The Way of Water, but for now it’s going to share the streaming success. The Steven Caple Jr. directed sequel is coming to streaming on September 11 and though the film was distributed by Disney, Disney+ won’t be the only place to see it. You can see it there as well as Max, aka HBO Max.
Is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie Transformers: Rise of the Beasts on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.
No, 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' is unavailable on Hulu. People who have a subscription to the platform can enjoy 'Afro Samurai Resurrection' or 'Ninja Scroll.'

With theatrical films, on average, coming to streaming sooner than ever (usually ninety days after theatrical release), we'll likely see Transformers: Rise of the Beasts get a DVD, and Blu-ray release no later than Fall 2023. Transformers Rise of the Beasts isn’t on Blu-ray yet but will join the rest of the franchise on disc before the end of 2023. There are plenty of fancy releases and box sets of the other Transformers movies, so we’re sure this one will be available to buy in all of its 4K glory very soon.

What Transformers: Rise of the Beasts About:
Optimus Prime and the Autobots take on their biggest challenge yet. When a new threat capable of destroying the entire planet emerges, they must team up with a powerful faction of Transformers known as the Maximals to save Earth. For a while, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts looked like it might be another Bumblebee--a Transformers movie that lacks any of the pizzazz of the Michael Bay flicks but which actually tells a decent story about characters you actually care about. For the first 45 minutes to an hour, we get the most compelling and relatable version yet of the story about a regular person accidentally becoming friends with an alien robot who was secretly a car. But then the plot really kicks in, and suddenly we're watching a Michael Bay Transformers movie--but without Bay's skill as an action filmmaker.
It’s a tale as old as time: A human character stumbles upon a group of Transformers that includes Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) and Bumblebee (voiceless yet again), and gets roped into their battle with an evil faction, which inevitably involves a race for a piece of Transformers tech that has the power to destroy the world.

2023.06.08 22:41 Musikcookie What I learned about laziness/procrastination as ENTP/adhd person who struggles with this a lot
It's basically the problem for 90% of all ENTPs, so I thought I'd share what I found for myself. However, while I'll talk as if these are general truths for reading easiness, it's not of course. Lots of this is taken from "Atomic Habits". Also I only have mild, diagnosed but unmedicated adhd, so might not apply for everyone equally. Nothing of this is new, just the things I found helpful.
- 99.9% chance you will never make a 180 turn over night. There are good days and bad weeks. That's a harsh reality you have to deal with.
- try out any new method you'd like but be non-commital in your attitude. If something works you'll know. Don't beat yourself up when you didn't stick to something or the method failed but if something made you feel better, try your best to keep it.
- If you could but don't you are lazy. If you would if you could, you are not lazy but you have some kind of psychological issue. Blaming your laziness, when you are not will only hinder you. Get checked for the classics first, adhd, vitamine deficiency etc. If it impacts your life severely get therapy if at all possible.
- Self-acceptance will propel you forward. This doesn't mean stagnating, but looking at yourself with a clear view. There's no point in degrading yourself over and over again. -> Physically saying sentences like "I forgive myself" can empower self-acceptance.
- discipline is important, but it's not key. Discipline is employed when you actually don't want to do something you know is good. It's extremely exhausting and not a sustainable main-device to have a successful day everyday. If you need discipline everyday it's important to reflect on your life, if you can find joy in what you do and in what system (in the sence of all the factors of your daily life) you live.
- Your habits are fundamental. Habits are triggered by cues, you can not just force them with discipline unless you already have a very good habitual foundation. Making sure you have the right cues is a lot of what you need to do. Habits can be chained together.
- If your money allows it, have a computelaptop for fun and one for work. It'll make a giant difference. Having a "work" user profile might work too. I didn't try it, but I assume the same goes for phones.
- make sure to give yourself tasks you can complete. If you have a low energy day, make them so small you can finish them within 10 seconds and then do them. "I'll throw away 3 pieces of paper from that table." is already more then enough.
- doing things socially makes everything easier. If you have a reading club there's no question about whether you'll pull out your phone or whatever. Most things there's no opportunity to do them socially, but if you got the chance, take it.
- The easiest day in terms of productivity is a day full of appointments. (well, as long as those are of productive nature in the broadest sense of the word.)
- Can't fall asleep? Write down whatever is keeping you awake. If you start fearing that you won't fall asleep, stop being in bed. (I don't have any problems with sleep anymore, because this together with self-acceptence totally solved this for me. So this might particularly be unhelpful for people with more severe sleeping problems than I had.)
- Stop thinking in goals. Think in your life as something that produces things (social life, creative things, career advancements etc.). What are the means of production you currently employ? Try to make those as favourable as possible. I like to think of my life as a factory.
- Instead of thinking about it as "I need to organize better" try to think about it as "I want to be a person who is organized." A sense of identity is way stronger than a sense of duty.
- Prepare yourself for a long journey. Celebrate your improvements and when you fail it's okay to be down but don't stop looking forward.
Apply everything at your own discretion. It's proven that these things can be useful, because these were of all the million pieces of advice out there the once that I internalized and that helped me. But I seriously don't care if they apply to everyone or anyone in particular or even any person outside myself.
Feel free to add your bits of wisdom.

2023.06.08 22:40 BennyOcean Top 3 Mr. Beast Myths
Myth #1: That he cares about philanthropy. He doesn't care at all about it. He engages in performative pseudo-philanthropy or "philanthro-capitalism". The reason? Because he discovered that feeding his earnings back into "the machine" was the fastest way to build his brand. So he decided to do a game show on Youtube, because it was the fastest way to get viewers.
The goal was always to grow as big as possible as fast as possible, not to help people.
Myth #2: That he cares about making "quality content". He is assuming that whatever gets a lot of views must be "quality". McDonalds sells the most burgers but that does not mean their burgers are the highest quality. People buy things, or watch things, for reasons other than quality. Making a video of yourself counting to infinity is not "quality content". Saying Logan Paul's name a hundred thousand times isn't quality content. It's the lowest possible quality content imaginable. Is it a test of mental endurance? Sure. But it's not quality content. It's "watch me show how desperate I am to get famous", and it worked. Congratulations.
People watch Jimmy the Beast's videos because it is lowest-common-denominator tier content intended to appeal to the widest possible audience. So his target audience is a 90 IQ teenager who likes the video theme "guy gets money" and will watch hundreds of videos with this theme.
He has discussed in interviews his group of Youtubers who figured out how to game the algorithm. Gaming the algorithm is not the same as making "quality content" and he pretends that these two things are the same.
Myth #3: That he doesn't care about money. He cares about money and fame probably more than anyone. Otherwise, why was he so desperate to get famous? If there was no money in this he wouldn't have done it. He didn't want to get a normal job. He didn't want to be a normal person. He wanted to be rich and famous, now he pretends that he's above money and doesn't care about it and that's why he gives so much away. BS. He engages in performative altruism only because he discovered that it was the fastest way to build his brand.
And I'll add one thing that's not a myth. He's a business genius. What he's doing theoretically could have been done by anyone, but he was the one to do it, and props on that. He's probably a future billionaire and his lifetime earning potential is limitless. But he's also completely full of sh*t and people rarely call him out for the obvious lies he's been telling. Someone had to do it.
