So I’m a college student and probably will finish my masters degree by spring 2024. I have money from my part time job but I had to get rid of my spending on streaming services (I had 2) Amazon prime but I won’t let go of Spotify premium. Because even tho I have the student discount these things add up.
Commuting to school also costs, phone bill, groceries, a few other things. I live at home luckily so I don’t pay all the bills.
But with social life I’ve had to talk my way out of events or plans that included taking a bus or Uber somewhere and then going out. Idk how I had money for this stuff years ago as a high school kid but now I can’t find it in the budget? I admit I love getting coffee out. I don’t eat out a lot and when I go out with friends sometimes the hang out is around free or low cost activities, other times it’s spending a bit.
I’m not in debt and I’m helping out at home but I also wanna occasionally go out. I think I need to work on budgeting and I feel scared what people will say because sometimes I talk my way out of events when really I just don’t have it in my financial means to go out. I would love some help <3

I have no personal frame of reference for this opinion, but I imagine being a drug runner for the Mexican cartel (or any cartel) is loads more fun in a video game setting than in real life. The latter pays more I'm sure, but the stress, risk to life and limb, and persistent threat of jail time have me convinced to stick with legal employment. Not so for some GTA Online gamers who thought it a good idea to become meth mules.
It sounds wild (because it is), but apparently drug cartels sometimes use online multiplayer video games as a source for new blood. Back in October of last year, for example, Mexico's assistant public safety secretary, Ricardo MejĂ­a, said a cartel recruiter purchased bus tickets for three teenagers between 11 and 14 years old.
The recruiter found the teens on Garena Free Fire, a popular online game, and offered them each $200 per week to serve as lookouts for the cartel. Authorities detained the teens before they boarded the bus, but MejĂ­a told ABC News that other cartels have also recruited drug mules and lookouts through video games, including Call of Duty, Gears of War, and Grand Theft Auto V.
Now three months later, Forbes says it discovered that US officials have evidence showing GTA Online is also used as a recruitment tool for drug cartels.
It's not clear how long this has allegedly been going on, but according to the site, border agents stopped and inspected a Jeep Cherokee in Arizona last November and found almost 60 kilograms of methamphetamine. The driver, Alyssa Navarro, said a man named George first contacted her in GTA Online, through which they got to know each other over time.
Those in-game chats later pivoted over to Snapchat, where George raised the idea of being a runner, albeit for electronics to be sold in Mexico. Navarro claims she was offered up to $2,000 per trip, depending on the size of the load.
The only problem for Navarro is that the cartel allegedly hid meth in the Jeep's fuel tank. Authorities have charged Navarro with conspiracy to import and sell meth, and also possession, charges for which she has pleaded not guilty.
It remains to be seen how that case will turn out. Suffice to say, though, if someone online propositions you for an offer that seems too good to be true—or is outright illegal—it's best to politely decline.

2023.03.25 04:42 Ok_Student_3275 Advanced Roll Table? (System Agnostic)

I know this should be possible, but I can't really wrap my head around the best way to implement the idea.
Here's the pitch. I want to make a random encounter table that has 3 tiers, with 15 options per tier. (Example below.)
1 1 1
2 2 2
3 3 3
etc.
You would only roll 1-15, and the first time you got a 3, it would display the first encounter on the list. Then that encounter would "exhaust", and the next time you rolled a 3, it would select the encounter in the middle.
Of course, if you rolled any other number, it would have 3 options that would change each time that number was rolled, until you have no more options, which would simply equate to not having an encounter occur.
Is this type of roll table progression possible? And if so, how would you implement it using foundry? Could a module help with this?

2023.03.25 04:36 spartan6565 Mi 11 Ultra update to MIUI 14 Root

Hello all, I have a Mi 11 Ultra and want to update to MIUI 14. Right now it is rooted with Magisk, no special ROM just did it with the fastboot image. Currently it has the safety net module activated too. 2 questions:
-Doing some research I have to download the OTA normally but do not hit reboot after it is completed, then go to Magisk, select install, install to inactive slot? Is that correct? No need to uninstall the current image and disable all modules?
-Everytime I power off the on or reboot the phone it goes into Miui recovery mode and I have to select reboot then main menu. Why is this happening?

There are some problems with IOMMU and Expansion card and hope it might correlate. However, there weren't such problem with AMD 5600g at all, but there were another even bigger one (short story long: boot drives were disabled/failed at the same time when I've run VM with passthrough PCIe to 2.5Gib Ethernet card) .
Now, hardware:

3x WD and 2x Kingston are connected to Expansion card and Proxmox cant list them. However, it shows the card. At the same time there are no IOMMU groups, but VT-d, VT-x and something that reminds IOMMU are enabled.
About IOMMU in BIOS, there is the thing that is called "control iommu pre-boot behavior" which is enabled.

By the way, all of these drives that are not showing work. I've connected them to the mobo and then formatted. The first option that come up with buy HBA or another card to SATA, but I want to know if there is software solution.

2023.03.25 04:29 Fabectronic 16-bit adresses and architecture choices

Hi all,
I finished the Ben tutorials a few months ago and I enjoyed my 8-bit CPU a lot. I’m now thinking to the next move : making my first upgrades by myself.
I’m shared into different directions and your experience would help me taking the best one.
I feel that upgrading the RAM is the first thing to do. Which means upgrading the program counter module. I would like to address 64kb so I need a 16-bit program counter.
  1. I could basically transform my 8-bit bus into a 16-bit bus to transfer these 16-bit adresses to the RAM module.
  2. I could keep my 8-bit bus but I would need 2 clock cycles to transfer each address (MSB then LSB).
  3. I could decide that the 8-bit bus will only be a data bus, and I can create a new 16-bit bus dedicated for memory adresses.
For those who did it, which choice did you make and what were your reasons ? Just curious about your architecture choices and their consequences.
