2023.06.09 01:10 maco8933 These poor kids are living in the olden days. There’s no sign of any kind of personal touch from the kids. It’s Delilah’s world, they’re just her money makers.
| What ever happened to that dinosaur wallpaper? Does she not display their art anywhere? Seriously. It’s shocking, the lack of personality in their room. This does not look at all like a child’s room, soon to be cramped with three children while the next baby has a whole room to itself that won’t be used for probably a year. submitted by maco8933 to delilahloeppkysnark [link] [comments] |

2023.06.09 00:27 PeterPaul0808 As a fan of the book I feel a deep anger and sadness that Netflix butchered one of my favourite story.
We all can agree that Game of Thrones is one of the most accurate book adoptation into a series until their source matiral lasted. GOT doesn't have that privilage that The Witcher had, ALL OF THE BOOKS were ready 20 years, some stories for 30 years. I am not a film maker and I am a little biased towards the books but it is unacceptable what Netflix's writers did. Just watched the Season 3 trailer and I have to admit it is clear they put a lots of money in it, visually very appealing but I am sad that they just didn't follow the books and changed unnecessarily the books story and a lots of core elements. I know adopting a book series is not an easy task, but Peter Jackson's TLOTR Trilogy is the best example that even though we have to shorten the story, change the plot here and there but with love towards the source material the outcome could be amazing and keep the essence of the story and lore. The Witcher lost everything when they changed very minor but important core elements like magic, this is my example of what is an absolutley unnecessary change and you can assosiate from that what they did in big story elements and core plot twists. In the books we have a clear description how magic works, very simple, very easy to understand, and I think it would have been very easy to adopt.
I don't think it is a spoiler for those who didn't read the books, in a nutshell it works that sorcresses and sorcerers get the energy for magic from the elements of the nature, like water, they learn to find these sources like the underground water sources and they use their energy, unfortunately female mages (not all of them) become infertile because of the use of magic. In the other hand in the series they have to suck somethings life energy "because of chaos" meh, like in the first season Yen and the other students have to "kill" the flower to levitate a rock and they talk and talk about their chaos which is just a nonsense. Oh and sorcresses don't have to go under a "uterus removing" proceedure to became beutiful they are using magic and amulets (like Triss who is alergic to potions) and magic elixires.
So I am very sad and bitter because I have a lots of love towards the book series and I also played all of the three games. I feel like Netflix took something away from me and they took away a great story from those who didn't read the books. I don't know why Andrzej Sapkowski didn't elevate his voice, maybe because his son died just in the last few years in cancer who asked him to keep writing the Witcher stories, who knows. At least the writers should have had some spine to learn about the writer of the book that they adopting and for his son's sake make the books accurate as it possible.
Anyway I had to write that down because so much going through in my mind, we can't change the past and who knows when will we have a such a great and humble actor like Henry Cavill in the future and when will the Witcher redo in the future because it deserves an accurate adoptation with love and passion.

2023.06.08 23:42 SwonRawnson Email Marketing
So I want to preface this with everyone gets spam emails no matter what. You accidently sign up for something, you're going to end up with an email promoting something. It's exactly like junk mail from when we were kids and our parents would immediately throw it out, or buy something stupid we didn't need. It's just going to happen. Why not send emails yourself and get a cut of the commissions that companies get for annoying you?
So I have been using cliqly for about a month now. It's basically sending email to a list of people you are given that have already signed up for information. It is a combination of offers for products and information about cliqly. So I was a bit skeptical at first but I thought ehh fuck it why not. They give you about a weeks worth of credits when you sign up. That kind of teaches you how to do it and gives you time to play with it before you pay. They way I thought of it was, well fuck it im playing with house money, I don't need to buy anything if it doesn't work. After the first week I was sitting at about $75. All I did was send emails at different times during the day. That ALL this is. It cost $97 to upgrade your account to where you can send out more emails, and they give you like 2 millions credits or some huge number like that. I told myself, if I got anywhere near $97 with the free credits I would upgrade. What's a hundred bucks? I've spent $100 some really stupid ways. The way the credit system works is kind of like Dave and Buster credits. You buy credits, you play games, you win prizes. Instead of winning prizes, you get cash, and instead of playing games, you take 5-20 minutes a day sending pre written emails. After I upgraded, I spent another $120 or on more credits, because they had a deal going. It seems like they ALWAYS have a deal going, so it seems like you will always pay about $60 for more credits when its advertised at $97. honestly its probably designed that way to make you feel like you're getting a deal, regardless, you have to buy more email credits to continue sending emails. I am about to cash out for my second time now, and honestly, if you want to take the time and build a list, it can be a really lucrative side hustle. You have to hit $300 to cash out for the week, and if you don't make it to $300, it rolls over until you do hit that mark. So while this CAN sound scammy, its not. Its about consistency. I'm not bringing hundreds of thousands of dollars, but I think after doing this for a year or so, it could actually start to bring in a nice amount of money every month. This does NOT use your email address to send emails. You sign up with your email, but it send privately through cliqly. This is not a get rich scheme, this is a time game and like the dave and buster comment I made earlier, the more you do with it, the more you can get.
Here is my link to get started. I will say this video/page here looks INCREDIBLY sketchy. BUT the bald guy actually does a somewhat decent job at explaining how it works, but honestly, doesn't even get half of it. IT has the BS timers and all that, and of course they mean nothing. I really don't understand why they set it up that way, but its actually a pretty nice system.
https://turnkeyemailbiz.net/cliqlytrialv1?c=24600
TLDR: Sign up, send emails with free credits, upgrade, and start making money. This is NOT an immediate money maker, it will take a month or two to get it working for you.

District 7
Sylo Trujillo (Game 13) stood in front of the bowls as Mayor Branks made a speech. Sylo then reached into the male bowl, removing the name of sixteen year old Maggie Mott. A scream was heard as a girl with pretty blonde curls and blue eyes walked to the stage. Maggie shook Sylo’s hand, a tear rolling down her face. Maggie was still attending school, and did not currently have a job.
Sylo then reached into the male bowl and removed the name of eighteen year old Quennel Montague. A tall, muscular young man with ebony skin and an afro of hair walked to the stage, and shook Sylo’s hand. Quennel worked as a lumberjack, having left school at the age of fifteen to support his family.
In the town hall, Maggie visited with her sisters, Alysia and Ellen. She promised to try and return, and told her sisters that she loved them, before being taken to the train.
Quennel was visited by his wheelchair bound father, and younger brothers, Swift, Elon, and Ashin. Quennel told them that he would try to return, or at least place in the top 6, to get some money for the family, before being taken to the train.
Once on the train, Maggie and Quennel met their mentor, 23 year old Holly Hammond (Game 8). Holly taught Maggie how to throw axes, all while giving advice to Quennel on his ax throwing technique.
At the apartment, the next morning at 8, Holly showed District 6’s reaping, claiming that many of their past tributes had been alcoholics and morphling addicts.
District 6
Sylo was now in District 6, after a good rest the night before. Sylo reached his hand into the female bowl, seeming shocked by the population of District 6 and how high on morphling they were.
Sylo read aloud the name of eighteen year old Montana Adams. He looked at the crowd of eighteen year old girls, right as a peacekeeper entered the enclosure. He pulled a young lady out, who was obviously under the influence of morphling. Montana had messy brown hair and brown eyes, and she made no protests when she was forced to shake Sylo’s hand.
Without further ado, Sylo wiped his hand on his pants, before selecting a name from the male bowl. The male tribute this year was fifteen year old Ohio Duffy. A shorter boy with brown hair and eyes walked to the stage, nervously shaking Sylo’s hand. Ohio did not appear to be under the influence of anything.
In the town hall, Montana was visited by several friends of hers who were also under the influence, before she was dragged away after it became clear that she wasn’t coherent.
Ohio was visited by his father and younger brother, a thirteen year old named Camden. Ohio said that he would try his best to return, but admitted that if wasn’t likely.
On the train, Montana and Ohio met their mentor, Peoria Dixon, who promptly injected Montana with a morphling antidote. Once Montana realized where she was, she let out a shrill scream, that let Peoria and Ohio to cover their ears.
Peoria taught Montana and Ohio how to throw knives, and gently gave corrections. Peoria also had an avox wash and style Montana’s hair, as it had been a disgusting rat’s nest.
Once back at the apartment, an exhausted Montana went straight to bed; and Peoria and Ohio watched several of the original Games, before Peoria sent Ohio to bed as well.
Training
During training, Montana and Ohio threw knives, and Montana also utilized the camouflage station. Meanwhile Maggie and Quennel threw axes at targets.
Assessments and Odds
Montana scored a 6 for knife throwing and camouflage, and had odds of 12 to 1. Meanwhile Ohio also scored a 6 for the same thing, but had odds of 10 to 1.
Maggie scored a 7 and Quennel scored an 8, both for ax throwing. Maggie had odds of 8 to 1, and Quennel had odds of 6 to 1.
Interviews
Euphemia Demigloss was dressed in a beige dress, and when it was Montana’s turn, she wryly talked about how she wished she could have some morphling. This earned her a reputation as a junkie, and many hoped she would die in the bloodbath.
Ohio discussed how he had never drank alcohol or taken morphling, and how he just wanted people to see that District 6 wasn’t just full of addicts.
Maggie talked about wanting to see her sisters again, while Quennel spoke of being his family’s main income, and how he had to win.
Game Maker Juliana Ricci gave her hint word, which was “fall.”
Tube Rooms
Upon arriving beneath the arena, the tributes were taken to the tube rooms.
Peoria didn’t even bother to visit Montana, who stared defiantly at a peacekeeper. Meanwhile Peoria spent her time giving Ohio a lot of advice for the Games.
Holly hugged Maggie and wished her luck in the Games, and then visited Quennel. The two had a heartfelt conversation, and Holly promised to care for Quennel’s family if he died.
Once all 24 tributes were in their tubes, they rose up into the arena.

2023.06.08 22:26 Firm-Photograph1708 Does Ray seem like he is hiding something? UPDATE 6/8/23
So we all know yfm retired in 2012. Because maker studios wanted more money from Ray and he was forced to shut it down. But in a community tab he said that as of 2022 he owned the rights to yfm, but how? In a frame rater video he says that maker was bought my Disney, and maker was stripped down to a line of consumer products. Soo.... was yfm still makers property? or was it owned my Disney? I don't know if maker is still alive. So would ray have to ask Disney for yfm back. Why wouldn't he make a video about how he got it back. In the same Frame rater video he says that anyone that was involved in yfm doesn't respond to messages regarding it. A bit sus. They were making covers of songs because they were also making the album, but what does that have to do with anything? You can't make original songs while making the album. They talk about the album in JA, HV, and BH(and shitty g). and at the end of BH says that they were making the album for 8 months, but in ANOTHER community post he says that they threw ideas around but haven't started, wtf were they doing for those "8 months". And in BH he says there gonna take time off to finish it. but you couldn't make more COVER songs instead of "taking a break". I think he got tired of yfm and wanted to end it, that would explain the low effort covers. Also if it did end, its not like maker could stop jessie and the yfm team from working together in another project. If the maker story is real, then what's stopping ray form making music. and bh seems like the perfect ending to yfm. And gen 2 songs don't even feel like yfm songs anymore. Also at the end of gen 2 songs it says ladybug studios, but the gen 2 songs don't have the same art style as the first few yfm songs. And one time ray said the next song would take along time because his "animator deserves a break" so.... its just one guy making the videos? And you cant record the audio for the yfm songs and release with out a music video. that happened with fat damon. You can't do what you did for the upside downs, where you release the audio with a still image? And I feel like he doesn't care about new yfm that much. He says that jessie can only do yfm part time because he lives across the country. But he or jessie cant buy or rent a studio for jessie to sing and send ray his lines? And wtf was he thinking for axel? You made him a Viking, WHY. and idk why he shows the eyes now. He says he did that to show more expression? but when is axel not playing drums, yfmts? why would the band need to show emotions? .One last thing, I hate the art style of new yfm videos. Its very bland.
And the opening of everyone clapped just sucks. why tf you using a light blue border for it? looks super $**t.
Even cosmic toast has better animation
And the npc's are black with little detail to them.
I'm banned from YFMreddit soo........ can anyone copy this post to that subreddit and see what happens? don't copy and paste the link because that's how I got banned the first time. And if you get banned for this post that would be very sus, and obviously don't copy this bottom part.

2023.06.08 22:18 SadisticGhxul So... 1 billion clicks guaranteed was a lie.
(Edit: so I can't change the title but that was a lie that was never told, it's 5Mil clicks I have no idea where I got 1 billion from, lol.) I've had my controller for a little under 1 year. Mainly play rocket league and that is what I was trying to play today in the new season. I made it to my 5/10 ranked matches and 1 minute in, I stopped being able to jump. (A is my jump button) Then I noticed it was turning and got stuck, so I took it apart just to find out why it wasn't working and I now feel like I've wasted 80$ on a controller that was supposed to last longer than this and I only got to avoid having to spend 70-80 on a new controller just because the old one got stick drift. 25$+tax for a new stick beats a new controllers pricing any day.
Cheap Finish Cheap mold work Cheap plastic Not worth 180usd because of this one fault I can't change my keybindings because I use literally every button. I may be able to get around this by learning to use the back buttons but that's a challenge as they feel so awkward to use when I do try to use them instead but I also know little to nothing about mapping this thing but anyways.I did love this controller at first but it was a waste of money just to be lied too about how long the buttons would last. All because they went cheap on one crucial part of the controllers functions. Had I known this before buying it I wouldn't have. I have to try to make peace with this regret now as I try to save up for another controller IF there is no way to get the buttons replaced. I tried to glue it back in place and while I can get the screw-hole back in a functional position the button will not click nor pop back into place after being pressed.
In short I now don't have an A button on a $180 controller all because the makers thought it'd be okay to make just 1 part cheaply. Whatever happened to springs and silicon? Is that not cheap yet durable? (Yeah yeah the magnets would have influence on springs but honestly I think there are too many magnets on them I don't like the magnetic grips, normal rubber or something would be perfectly fine so long as I don't need to pay for a whole new controller every time a button or stick got ruined.)

2023.06.08 21:23 Dismal-Jellyfish SEC Chair Gary Gensler: "Given that most crypto tokens are subject to the securities laws, it follows that most crypto intermediaries have to comply with securities laws as well." "In other parts of our securities markets, the exchange, broker-dealer, and clearing functions are separate."
| Source: https://www.sec.gov/news/speech/gensler-remarks-piper-sandler-060823 Before getting to Gary's speech: A DEX is an exchange and proof of delivery for assets one to one, so it is not packaging securities. That is how you or I may know it BUT.... The SEC is soliciting comments for what the 'official' definition is and based on that they will take action(s). It behooves ALL of us to to review the proposed rules: SEC Reopens Comment Period for Proposed Amendments to Exchange Act Rule 3b-16 and Provides Supplemental Information. "The reopening release reiterated the applicability of existing rules to platforms that trade crypto asset securities, including so-called “DeFi” systems" I imagine folks are going to leave comments in light of the SEC's actions on Binance and Coinbase on this proposal that would go against GME's interests in the space moving forward? I have this 165 page proposal 'down to' 61 pages I am working to try and turn into post(s) before the comment period is up next week. Unless 'we the people' tell Gary and the SEC what a DEX, exchange, security, etc. is, absent laws from congress, they are going to INTERPRET it how they please. We deserve better than that and this is our chance to say how and why on the official record. Speech: Thank you, Rich, for that kind introduction. As is customary, I’d like to note that my views are my own as Chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and I’m not speaking on behalf of my fellow Commissioners or the SEC staff. Well-regulated Markets Rich, I’m honored to speak at what I’m told is your last of a 20-year run of conferences. I’d like to focus on one area, which I think sits right at the intersection of the two things you highlight in the title of this conference—Exchanges and Fintech—and that’s crypto. The U.S. capital markets thrive because we’ve had rules of the road that have helped ensure for investor protection, transparency, and competition for 90 years—since the signing of the Securities Act of 1933. A year after signing that law, President Roosevelt worked with Congress to pass the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to regulate securities intermediaries, such as exchanges and broker-dealers. That law also created the SEC, and this past Tuesday was our 89th birthday. Crypto Securities There is nothing about the crypto securities markets that suggests that investors and issuers are less deserving of the protections of our securities laws. Congress could have said in 1933 or in 1934 that the securities laws applied only to stocks and bonds. “Congress’s purpose in enacting the securities laws was to regulate investments, in whatever form they are made and by whatever name they are called.”[1] This is not just a talking point. This is the law of the land, as Justice Thurgood Marshall wrote in the Supreme Court’s famous Reves decision. Congress included a long list of 30-plus items in the definition of a security, including the term “investment contract.” As articulated in another famous Supreme Court decision, SEC v. W.J. Howey Co.,[2] an investment contract exists when there is the investment of money in a common enterprise with a reasonable expectation of profits to be derived from the efforts of others. This test has been reaffirmed by the Supreme Court numerous times—the Court cited Howey as recently as 2019. In the Howey decision, the Court said that definition of an investment contract “embodies a flexible, rather than a static, principle, one that is capable of adaptation to meet the countless and variable schemes devised by those who seek the use of the money of others on the promise of profits.” As I’ve said numerous times, the vast majority of crypto tokens meet the investment contract test. Not liking the message isn’t the same thing as not receiving it. These tokens have teams promoting them with websites and Twitter accounts. Investors may even meet the entrepreneurs. These tokens are not coming out of thin air. They are not growing out of the ground like corn or wheat. That they’re digital doesn’t differentiate them from huge swaths of the capital markets, where securities and currencies already are digital. Satoshi Nakamoto’s innovation spurred the development of crypto assets and the underlying blockchain ledger technology. Regardless, however, of the ledger being used, be it a spreadsheet, a database, or blockchain technology, when investors put their money at risk, it’s the economic realities of the investment that matter. Thus, crypto security issuers need to register the offer and sale of their investment contracts with the SEC or meet the requirements for an exemption. For decades, we’ve had rules governing how issuers must do that. We have flexible rules for the disclosures required in registration statements—Regulation S-K and Regulation S-X—and exemptions from registration, including Regulation A or Regulation D. We’ve also provided years of guidance to market participants on what does or does not constitute a crypto asset security, including the DAO report in 2017[3] and the staff’s “Framework for ‘Investment Contract’ Analysis of Digital Assets” in 2019.[4] More than 100 Commission orders, settled actions, and court decisions also have made clear when the offer and sale of a token is a security, including our actions against Telegram,[5] LBRY,[6] and Kik.[7] In fact, we alleged just this week that Binance’s chief financial officer and chief compliance officer were aware of the Kik case’s relevance to their own business.[8] According to our complaint against Binance, as a result of the SEC’s action against Kik, Binance insiders realized that they would need to “start prepping everything” for a subpoena and Wells notice relating to their exchange token, BNB, including a “War chest.” When crypto asset market participants go on Twitter or TV and say they lacked “fair notice” that their conduct could be illegal, don’t believe it. They may have made a calculated economic decision to take the risk of enforcement as the cost of doing business. Just as in other parts of the securities markets, registration and compliance takes work— something that the debt and equity issuers at this conference know well. This is appropriate, though, because it’s the work that ensures that investors get the full, fair, and truthful disclosure they deserve. Some promoters of crypto asset securities contend that their token has a function beyond simply being an investment vehicle. As the courts in the Telegram case[9] and others[10] have said, however, some additional utility does not remove a crypto asset security from the definition of an investment contract. The investing public generally buys these crypto assets, at least in part, anticipating profit based on the efforts of those token issuers. In fact, in that famous Howey decision, the Supreme Court wrote that, if the investment contract test is satisfied, “it is immaterial whether the enterprise is speculative or nonspeculative, or whether there is a sale of property with or without intrinsic value.”[11] Still, for those tokens that are used exclusively within their blockchain ecosystems, the staff has shown willingness to provide no-action letters.[12] Crypto Intermediaries Given that most crypto tokens are subject to the securities laws, it follows that most crypto intermediaries have to comply with securities laws as well. Again, these laws have been on the books for decades. Sections 5, 15(a), and 17A(b) of the Exchange Act require that intermediaries acting as securities exchanges, brokers and dealers, and clearing agencies are subject to the securities laws, and must register or satisfy requirements for an exemption. Again, these crypto entities know the rules. As Binance’s chief compliance officer put it bluntly to a colleague in 2018, “[w]e are operating as a fking unlicensed securities exchange in the USA bro.” Registration is not just a process issue. Failure to register isn’t just a foot fault in a tennis game. It’s core to providing the investing public and our markets with basic protections. This year, we alleged in separate actions that Beaxy,[13] Bittrex,[14] Binance,[15] and Coinbase[16] commingled and unlawfully offered securities intermediation functions without registering them with the SEC. The Commission settled actions against EtherDelta in 2018[17] and Poloniex in 2021.[18] These alleged failures deprive investors of critical protections, including rulebooks that prevent fraud and manipulation, proper disclosures, segregation of customer assets, safeguards against conflicts of interest, oversight by a self-regulatory organization, and routine inspection by the SEC. When intermediaries don’t register, it’s investors who get hurt and the American financial markets that may suffer. In other parts of our securities markets, the exchange, broker-dealer, and clearing functions are separate. Separation of these core functions helps mitigate the conflicts that can arise with the commingling of such services. Rich, if one of your earlier speakers said they were combining these functions or that they were surreptitiously trading against their customers without complying with our rules, no one in this room would stand for it. I disagree with the notion—and recent history disproves it—that crypto intermediary compliance isn’t possible. I do recognize—and, again, think it’s appropriate—that it takes work. It’s not just a matter of “paying lip service to [the] desire to comply with applicable laws”[19] or seeking a bunch of meetings with the SEC during which you’re unwilling to make the changes needed to comply with the securities laws. Crypto intermediaries may need to separate lines of business, put into place rulebooks that protect against fraud and manipulation, properly segregate customer funds, mitigate conflicts, or change their approach to clearing and custody. These are the things that protect investors. The fact that they didn’t build their platforms with these things in mind shouldn’t be a free pass to put investors at risk. Each of the registered stock exchanges at this conference has done the hard work of registering and putting in place appropriate rulebooks and surveillance, and each is subject to all of our rules. We shouldn’t undermine 90 years of securities laws. As SEC Enforcement Director Gurbir Grewal said, “You simply can’t ignore the rules because you don’t like them or because you’d prefer different ones: the consequences for the investing public are far too great.”[20] Further, just last month, one firm[21] that limited their business to crypto asset securities was approved by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority as a special purpose broker-dealer.[22] It can be done. We have addressed the crypto security industry through rulemaking as well. Though many in the industry who have called for rulemaking have expressed dissatisfaction with said rulemaking. We issued a reopening release that reiterated the applicability of existing rules to platforms that trade crypto asset securities, including so-called “DeFi” systems. This release also provided supplemental information for systems that would be included in a new, proposed exchange definition.[23] While our current investment adviser custody rule already applies to crypto funds and securities, our recent proposal updating it would cover all crypto assets and enhance the protections that qualified custodians provide.[24] These are just two of the rules we’ve proposed that touch the crypto markets. Further, recognizing the risk and uncertainties related to crypto assets, the staff has stated their view on public company accounting related to crypto assets and disclosure regarding significant crypto asset market developments.[25] Lending and Staking as a Service Another prevalent feature of crypto markets is that intermediaries and promoters offer lending or staking-as-a-service programs that promise returns in exchange for investors’ crypto tokens. They have many names for their products and for their promised returns, which often are used to entice users to their platforms. Across decades of cases, though, the Supreme Court has made clear that the economic realities of a product—not the labels—determine whether it is a security under the securities laws. It doesn’t matter what kind of assets investors put into a lending or staking-as-a-service platform—cash, gold, bitcoin, or anything else. It’s what the intermediary says that they are going to do with the assets that determines what protections are provided by the law. Customers invest their assets with the platform, which then onlends them or pools and stakes them, in each case promising a return. These are classic securities, irrespective of whether crypto is involved. Again, the SEC has been clear on this for a number of years. From BitConnect[26] in 2021, BlockFi[27] in 2022, to a series of actions this year, [28] the SEC has consistently alleged that these lending and staking-as-a-service offerings need to register and provide the investing public with proper disclosures. Just this week, along with 10 states, we charged Coinbase for never properly registering the offer and sale of its staking program.[29] Conduct: Fraud, Manipulation, and Bankruptcies With wide-ranging noncompliance, frankly, it’s not surprising that we’ve seen many problems in these markets. We’ve seen this story before. It’s reminiscent of what we had in the 1920s before the federal securities laws were put in place. Hucksters. Fraudsters. Scam artists. Ponzi schemes. The public left in line at the bankruptcy court. Earlier this week, we alleged that certain Binance entities misled investors about the platform’s risk controls and its corrupted trading volumes while actively concealing who was operating the platforms, the manipulative trading of its affiliated market maker, and even where and with whom investor funds and crypto were custodied.[30] We also allege that Sigma Chain, an affiliate controlled by Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, acting as the principal market maker on Binance.US, engaged in manipulative trading and conducted wash trading that fraudulently inflated trading volumes on the platform, including around Binance.US’s launch, its subsequent funding round, and when certain new crypto security tokens were recently listed. Further, through accounts owned and controlled by Zhao and Binance, billions of dollars of customer funds from both Binance platforms allegedly were commingled into an account held by a Zhao-controlled entity, Merit Peak Limited. The allegations also describe Zhao and Binance’s attempt to evade U.S. securities laws by announcing sham controls that they disregarded behind the scenes so that they could keep high-value U.S. customers on their platforms. Our complaint quoted Binance’s chief compliance officer, who said, “On the surface we cannot be seen to have US users but in reality, we should get them through other creative means,” and that the CCO further said, “CZ will definitely agree to this lol … I have been briefed by top management to always find a way to support biz.” We also saw deception of investors by FTX.[31] We saw deception with the collapse of Terra and LUNA. Do Kwon and Terraform, we alleged, repeated false and misleading statements to build trust before causing devastating losses for investors.[32] In the case against Justin Sun and three of his companies, we alleged, among other things, a scheme to pay celebrities to tout tokens without disclosing compensation.[33] I could go on, but in a market rife with fraud, abuse, and noncompliance, there are too many to list. We’ve also seen numerous companies—before and after FTX—blow themselves up, hurting countless investors in their wake. As a result of the bankruptcies of BlockFi, Celsius, FTX, Genesis, and other crypto firms, investors often are left lining up in court. Let me be clear: These types of misconduct and bankruptcies are more likely to happen in markets whose issuers and intermediaries fail to comply with foundational laws. Even when we might not find fraud or such blatant misconduct, investors need proper disclosure, segregation of their hard-earned assets, and confidence that they are not trading against the house. Conclusion Markets ultimately are about trust. For 90 years, that trust has relied upon compliance with the securities laws. The crypto securities markets should not be allowed to undermine the well-earned trust the public has in the capital markets. The crypto markets should not be allowed to harm investors. TLDRS: - SEC Chair Gary Gensler:
- "Given that most crypto tokens are subject to the securities laws, it follows that most crypto intermediaries have to comply with securities laws as well."
- "In other parts of our securities markets, the exchange, broker-dealer, and clearing functions are separate."
- It behooves ALL of us to to review the proposed rules:

2023.06.08 20:49 autotldr Apollo for Reddit is shutting down
This is the best tl;dr I could make,
original reduced by 46%. (I'm a bot)
Apollo, one of the most beloved iOS apps used to browse Reddit, will be shutting down due to the company's new API pricing that will make the app much more expensive to operate.
"Reddit's recent decisions and actions have unfortunately made it impossible for Apollo to continue," Selig wrote on Twitter.
Selig went into further detail in an extensive post on Reddit.
Selig also pushed back on Reddit's claims that Apollo is "Less efficient" than other apps, saying that Reddit is unfairly framing its data, because Apollo uses a fraction of a percent of Reddit's own previously stated API rate limits.
On Tuesday, following the news of that protest, Reddit announced it would create a specific exemption to its new API pricing for makers of accessibility apps, but it doesn't seem to have made any accommodation that will allow Apollo to survive.
Selig says that he will delete Apollo's API token "On the evening of June 30th" Pacific Time, and until then, "Apollo should continue to operate as it has." If you have subscribed to Apollo, Selig says that "Over the next few weeks" he is planning to offer a pro-rated refund to get money back for the time left in your subscription.

2023.06.08 20:46 NetEcstatic7722 Kpop is very messed up.
I’m surprised kpop is so popular and very little people realize how crazy and messed up the whole thing is. The industry is just a bunch of teenagers who are forced to starve and get plastic surgery. Then they dance and perform songs that are not created by themselves. They sell a boyfriend/girlfriend fantasy to lonely people who find comfort in young pretty people performing. The whole thing is so unnatural and manufactured. The idols start as young children who probably have a passion for music and expression but they are used as money makers for big companies. I’m sure 90% of kpop idols don’t have real talent and don't participate in the songwriting and creating of their “music”. So they aren’t really artists just professional lip syncers.
And most of the fans seem like lonely people and teenagers who don’t actually care about the people that they idolize because they don’t even know them. Kpop fans probably just like kpop because they are looking for some escape in their life that is miserable and the idols are good looking. Kpop idols could not say anything or they could be problematic and still have millions of fans. Also my Korean uncle who worked in the industry once said something like that every idol has had plastic surgery even if they are already pretty. So they have to be as perfect as they can be to make the most money for the company. It's literally robot making factory.

2023.06.08 19:48 NightCities13 88 Years Later-Game 12
Day 1
This year’s arena was a dry riverbed covered in rocks, with about four feet of water in the river at some parts. A small forest was above the river. The usual weapons, supplies, and consumables were included, along with the backpacks.
When the bell rang, Anesthesia ran forwards and grabbed a bow and six packs of arrows, as well as a backpack, before running off into the forest. Paul grabbed a backpack and took off, and Appa grabbed a backpack, waiting for Nikon to grab a taser before the two ran away.
Jessica and Aelianus killed the girl from 11, the boy from 9, the girl from 8, Kerry (10), the boy from 6, the girl from 5, and the boy from 4, finishing off the bloodbath by killing Brookie, who was the youngest and shortest tribute this Games.
Paul arrived at the perimeter and drank thirstily from a small pool of water nearby. He decided to camp here, and sat up against a large rock.
Anesthesia climbed a tree with expertise, as hunting outside one’s district was now allowed since a year after the original 100th Games. She sat up in her high point, and shot Rubiana and Garry (both 1) when they passed by her tree.
Meanwhile Appa and Nikon stopped in an area up high with a bunch of boulders everywhere. They ate some bread and drank some water, and when Appa noticed a suspicious rock, she pressed on it, causing a loud noise, which turned out to be some rocks falling from the sky, which killed Holleen (7) and Harold (5).
Appa noticed other suspicious rocks, and she told Nikon that they could set traps for other tributes here. This was a special area set up by Game Maker Juliana Ricci, and the person that found this area was set for most of the Games.
Nikon pressed a second rock, which sent rocks down on the south side of the arena, killing Jessica and Aelianus (both 2), Ryla (9), and Wallis (11).
Appa pressed a third rock, and a gigantic flood occurred, which killed Missoula (6), Jamie (8), Job (7), and Clayton (10).
Paul tried to run from the flood, but due to being underweight and brittle, he got exhausted after running a mile. A satisfied smile crossed Paul’s face when he realized that he had won his family the prize money, before he stopped, told his family he loved them, and the flood hit him.
Paul’s cannon sounded and Anesthesia appeared to be watching from her tree, and she seemed to realize that the forest would be next, and jumped down from her tree and fled the forest.
All of a sudden she noticed a suspicious knob on a tree, and touched it with her finger. She accidentally pushed it down, and Appa and Nikon heard a rumbling near them, Nikon and Appa seemed surprised, right as the ground opened up beneath them, and they went flying down the cliff, slamming into the rocky riverbed below.
Nikon died instantly, while Appa clutched her legs and screamed. Anesthesia came up next to Appa, and told the girl how close she had been to winning. Anesthesia then shot her arrow into Appa’s head.
A final cannon sounded as seventeen year old Anesthesia Mellark of District 12 was announced as the victor of the 12th Hunger Games.
Aftermath
After many Games with little to no hazards, this Games was very popular for its ingenious idea, and Juliana Ricci was highly praised. More Games like this occurred over the years, with hidden traps and hidden buttons to cause hazards.
Meanwhile Anesthesia returned to District 12, and opened up a food shop, with free food for the poor, and cheap food for the rich.
Anesthesia became certified as a nurse, and married a doctor friend of hers named Wilbur Kettler. They had two daughters, Leia and Tawny, and two sons, Injectio and Blight.
Anesthesia mentored the tributes of District 12 until her eventual retirement, and was known for being a kind mentor, and for being very helpful to her tributes.

2023.06.08 19:08 Sundaiigh Is it worth it
So I’m in New York, not in the city but the second largest city here. And the governor lowered the tax rate here so no one has come in two years. So I’m thinking of dropping everything here to move to LA to hopefully get more PA gigs so I can join some unions etc. I am a suny graduate from their media production program and I graduated in the middle of 2020 things have been soooo rough with all of this but I am not happy doing anything else. I was grateful to get a few gigs the past could years, like one small month a year. But again so grateful cause I love it.
I’m trying to get a truck so I can do this cause I mean I don’t want to be homeless but I’m willing to live in the car to do this. I’ve never even been to cali ever before so idk how anything works I just know I am probably not getting a gig in NYS and I cant live with this fact that if I stay here I won’t have worked on anything this year. I would have to find a job for the interim is that hard to do with out of state I’d? Like how realistic is this plan?
Also no I don’t want to make my own stuff. I didn’t go to film school to become a film maker to make my own things I went to school to have the bachelors degrees that the positions I wanted in big studios required to be considered for the job. I’m settling cause I’m the past I did want to be a director or producer but I can’t make enough money here for this Col to realistically make my own films here in this state and I just want to work for other people. Cause the three years I have tried to get my own things done. I can’t pay people to give the quality I want to put out and my equipment is so old no one wants to pay me anything to use my crap camera (canon t5i) more so in my area this area doesn’t want to pay anyone anything for any creative work.
TDLr how did you if you did move to la do it what would be your best advice.

2023.06.08 19:08 CardiologistEarly483 Before I start writing my manga..
Hello guys,
When I was a kid, like 7 or 8 years ago, I had a desire to write my own story and manga. I am very good at drawing and I drew characters and board games, but a manga was very difficult to do with a mouse and a computer, and I didn't have the equipment, nor the idea or the plot.
Recently, I watched a nostalgic anime that gave me motivation to restart trying to make my own manga. I have the plot in mind, it's simple actually. No fantasy, no super powers, it's a realistic story, and I try to bring up some philosophical points and perspectives of kids lives and how they are raised, mixed with adventure, so should be suitable for all ages. I plan to buy a drawing tablet if I decide to start.
One question though is that I don't know if it's really worth it, especially with the fact that I work... I wanted to ask fellow manga makers on your motivation and do you actually do with your work ? Is it just for you ? Do you publish it ? Do you make money out if it ?
Thanks in advance

2023.06.08 19:07 NightCities13 88 Years Later-Game 12-Full PreGames
District 12
Carnelian Fontaine (Game 11) appeared nervous for this year’s reapings. He watched the video for why the Games existed along with the population of District 12, which now included the countries of Australia and New Zealand, ever since before the 5th Games.
Carnelian reached into the female bowl, rummaging around a bit, before selecting the name of seventeen year old Anesthesia Mellark. A gasp was heard from the crowd as a taller girl with long, straight blonde hair and blue eyes walked to the stage. Anesthesia was a descendant of Katniss Everdeen and Petra Mellark (Original Game 75) and their second son Dwight. Anesthesia shook Carnelian’s hand, a nervous smile on her face.
Carnelian then reached into the male bowl, and chose the name of fifteen year old Paul Clade. A thin, brittle boy with olive skin, black hair, and gray eyes walked to the stage, and nervously shook Carnelian’s hand. Paul was from a poor family with four children, and often worked in the coal mines.
In the town hall, Anesthesia was visited by her parents and younger brothers, twins Shawn and Seth. She promised to try and return, and bring honor back to the Mellark name, before being taken away.
Paul was visited by his parents and three siblings, Amelia, Zachary, and Luke. He promised to try and place in the top 6 to earn the family some money, before being taken to the train.
On the train, Anesthesia and Paul met their mentor, a distant uncle of Anesthesia named Benjamin Mellark. Benjamin asked Anesthesia about her skills, and she showed strong archery skills. Meanwhile Benjamin taught Paul how to throw knives, and also filled him up on food.
After arriving at the apartment, Benjamin sent both tributes to bed, and the next day showed off all of the reapings thus far, asking Anesthesia and Paul to take notes.
Benjamin showed District 3’s reaping, which was just beginning.
District 3
Carnelian was now in District 3, and he stood in front of the crowd of youths, a small smile on his face. He reached into the female bowl, and selected the name of twelve year old Appa Ogden. A scream was heard as the girl was retrieved from the crowd. Appa had blonde curly hair and hazel eyes, and she sobbed as she was forced to shake Carnelian’s hand.
Carnelian then reached into the male bowl, and called out the name of seventeen year old Nikon Takahashi. A shocked silence was heard as a boy with black hair and brown eyes walked to the stage, and shook Carnelian’s hand, his nerves easily shown on his face.
In the town hall, Appa was visited by her brother, Hertz, and several other orphans from her orphanage. She clung to Hertz, and told him that she loved him, before being taken to the train.
Meanwhile Nikon was visited by his older brother Rai, and younger sister Sirika. Nikon told them that he loved them, and promised to try and return, before being taken to the train.
Once on the train, Appa met her mentor, then now 25 year old Minerva Sharpe (Game 5), while Nikon met his mentor, the now 24 year old Sparky Danger (also Game 5) Minerva seemed saddened by Appa being her tribute, but simply taught the girl how to throw knives, while Sparky taught Nikon how to use a taser.
Once at the apartment, Appa was sent to bed by Minerva, while Sparky showed Nikon the 5th Games.
Training
At training, Anesthesia continued to work with a bow and arrows, while Paul threw knives. Appa hid in the electrical station, and shocked herself several times, while Nikon worked with a taser.
Assessments
Appa shocked herself some more, causing her to burst into tears and earn the lowest score this Games, a 2, while Nikon used a taser and scored a 7.
Anesthesia scored a great 8 for using a bow and arrows to shoot at targets, while Paul scored a 5 for knife throwing.
Odds
Appa had the lowest odds of 23 to 1, while Nikon had odds of 7 to 1. Anesthesia’s odds were 5 to 1, while Paul’s were 10 to 1.
Other strong scores included Jessica and Aelianus (both 2) scoring a 9 and a 10, and the weaker scores had Brookie (4) scoring a 3.
Interviews
Euphemia Demigloss seemed excited to be there, and she wore a flowing scarlet dress.
When it was Appa’s turn, she cried about being scared to die, and earned the sympathy of the Capitol. Nikon discussed his life in District 3, and his expertise with electronics.
Anesthesia talked about wanting to bring the Mellark family back into the spotlight, while Euphemia commented on how Paul looked much healthier than before, earning a smile from him.
Game Maker Juliana Ricci gave her keyword, which was “river”.
Tube Rooms
After a hovercraft ride to the arena, the tributes were taken to their tube rooms.
Appa was visited by Minerva, who hugged her close and told her to stick with Nikon. Meanwhile Sparky visited Nikon, and wished him luck.
Benjamin hugged Paul and told him to run from the bloodbath and get a backpack. Benjamin then visited his niece, and hugged Anesthesia, telling her to try her best to win.
Once all 24 tributes were in their tubes, they rose up into the arena.
