I've seen the lists, here and elsewhere, I've made the calls. I've trawled Craigslist and the Marketplace and tried Zillow etc and I check the covet sponsored Maine myhousing listings as well as CL every hour or so. I have made posts, asked for a little help, gone down every avenue I can find. I am not a high enough priority on wait lists to make any real headway without further extenuating circumstances. I am in contact with help organizations local to this area but the previously mentioned apply to this, the waiting lists or prices for rentals are insurmountable it seems. I don't think any nearby shelter offers dog-friendly accommodation, nor is surrendering the dogs an option at all and I am not further entertaining conversation about the topic. We have air conditioning in the car, and as much as it sucks at least there is plenty of open space nearby for us to roam around outside if we are car camping. I can't afford it at the moment but if I can locally find a campground with basic amenities that isn't overpriced for tourism and it comes to that for me to keep my job or have a place to sleep temporarily I will make that happen, but would rather not. If I can't find a living space and be able to continue working full time I won't be able to correct my negative bank account and will end up losing my phone plan, etc, which obviously is something I would like to keep in this situation.
Clearly living locally is not really amongst available options, or at least I have spent countless hours unsuccessfully searching and being inundated with rental scam attempts.
Since I work for Hannaford I can transfer anywhere with open position and this season they are usually looking for all the employees they can scoop up. Moving has been on the table, but I stayed locally because up until today/tomorrow morning I wanted to try and keep this job and live locally, and had temporary shelter until now. Though I have been in touch with 211 and local resources I hadn't declared actual homelessness yet, as I hadn't been yet and was hopeful as wells as not wanting to take potential services from someone who might not immediately have a roof available. Tomorrow I will have no choice but to make that call without any further opportunities occuring.
Does anyone have/know of a room/apartment to rent in relative vicinity to a Hannaford, perhaps, just within reasonable driving distance, for a simple and quiet dogdad and his two spoiled babies? We don't bother anyone as I don't have any friends really, and prefer to keep to myself with the dogs. Initial rent costs are not a problem so I would have time to settle and adjust and complete the Hannaford transfer, which they do fairly quickly in my experience.
I just want a place to live, I was sorta avoiding moving 4 hours north, and even if I do I haven't found anything but scams.

Why?

A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users. On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.

Why close the subreddit?

Many of the users who use these apps are moderators who voluntarily dedicate their free time to prevent spam, answering questions, and give you the best experience possible. En solidarity with many other subreddits, we will close the subreddit for 48 hours starting on the 12th of June.

What can I do?

I keep adding more stim packing to my price pfister shower stem. Yeah it's an old washer-based. But when I turn on the water to take a shower, a lot of water comes out of the stem handle. I had more Teflon packing around the stem and put the cap back on. A month later. It's leaking again. It used to have a rubber around the handle stem. But I can't find one that fits, so I've been just packing in more and more and more white Teflon cord. Any suggestions to stop the water leak?

So I know for the voice actors there and other celebrities you need to pay and get a ticket to get a picture with them but what about just getting something signed? I looked on their website and couldn't find anything about prices to get things signed while being there in person. I assumed there's a line to wait in. Are the prices listed there? And what's the best thing to carry your stuff in around. I'm curious what most people do in terms of carrying their stuff there. Get out of crypto platforms now, I can't say it any plainer. Having worked as an attorney in the SEC Enforcement Division for almost 20 years (including 11 years as Chief of the SEC Office of Internet Enforcement), I believe that we now know for certain that crypto trading platforms are under a U.S. regulatory/law enforcement siege which has only just begun.

And before you chop my head off with vitriol, ad hominems and OK Boomerisms, please allow me to explain the situation with only facts and research.
And before you label me a bureaucratic, washed-up SEC shill, please bear in mind that while I may indeed be washed up (!), I am typically an outspoken and dedicated SEC critic (see, e.g., https://twitter.com/JohnReedStark/status/1656774452388962305?s=20). I also have no stake of any kind in the cryptoverse. I am 100% objective, independent and neutral. Just seeking truth, always.
My take is that the SEC is spot-on with their crypto-related enforcement efforts. No matter what the carnival barkers promise, it is axiomatic that crypto trading platforms are high-risk, perilous and inherently unsafe. Please read on to understand my reasoning.

Why A Lack of SEC Registration Matters

U.S. SEC registration of financial firms: (1) mandates that investor funds and securities be handled appropriately without conflicts of interest; (2) ensures that investors understand the risks involved in purchasing the often illiquid and speculative securities that are traded on a cryptocurrency platform; (3) makes buyers aware of the last prices on securities traded over a cryptocurrency platform; and (4) provides adequate disclosures regarding their trading policies, practices and procedures.
Overall, entities providing financial services must carefully handle access to, and control of, investor funds, and provide all users with adequate protection and fortification.
With traditional SEC-registered financial firms, the SEC has unlimited and instantaneous visibility into every aspect of operations. With crypto trading platforms, the SEC lacks any sort of oversight and access — and has scant ability to detect, investigate and deter fraudulent conduct. As a result, the crypto marketplace operates without much supervision, lacking:

• The hallmarks of the traditional transparent surveillance program of a financial firm like an SEC-registered broker-dealer or investment adviser, so the SEC cannot analyze or verify market trading and clearing activity, customer identities and other critical data for risk and fraud;
  
• SEC and/or Financial Industry Regulatory Authority licensure of individuals involved in crypto trading, operation, promotion, etc., so the SEC cannot detect individual misconduct and enforce violations; -Traditional accountability structures and fiduciaries of financial firms, so the SEC cannot ensure that every customer's interest is protected and held sacrosanct; and
  
• The compliance systems, personnel and infrastructure, so the SEC cannot know where crypto came from or who holds most of it; and -The verification and investigatory routine and for cause SEC or FINRA examinations, inspections and audits, so the SEC and FINRA cannot patrol, supervise or verify critical customer protections and compliance mechanisms.
  

What the Crypto Regulatory Vacuum Means

For customers of digital asset platforms like most so-called crypto exchanges, there is not just a gap in customer protections, but a chasm. For example unlike SEC-registered financial firms, crypto trading platforms have:

• No record-keeping and archiving requirements with respect to operations, communications, trading or any other aspect of business;
  
• No requirements regarding the pricing or order flow of transactions or the use internal platforms and payment systems by employees;
  
• No reason to abide by U.S. statutes and rules prohibiting manipulation, insider trading, trading ahead of customers and other fraudulent behavior by customers or employees;
  
• No mandated cybersecurity requirements or standards to combat online attackers and protect customer privacy;
  
• No requirement to establish mandated training or code of conduct requirements;
  
• No obligation to have in place internal compliance, customer service and whistleblower teams to address and archive customer complaints;
  
• No requirement to reverse charges if any dispute or problem arises;
  
• No mandated robust and documented processes for the redress and management of customer complaints (N.B. that and even if there was a formal complaint filing structure in a digital asset trading platform, the pseudo-anonymous nature of virtual currencies, ease of cross-border and interstate transport, and the lack of a formal banking edifice creates enormous challenges for law enforcement to investigate and apprehend any individuals who use cryptocurrencies for illegal activities);
  
• No obligation to follow publicly disseminated national best bid and offer and other related best execution requirements;
  
• No minimum financial standards for operation, liquidity, and net capital; -No U.S. governmental team of objective auditors and examiners to inspect and scrutinize the fairness, execution and transparency of transactions;
  
• No requirement to ensure consistency of trading operations i.e. that the trading protocols used, which determine how orders interact and execute, and access to a platform's trading services, are the same for all users; and
  
• No obligation to design ethics and compliance codes for Wall Street entities (regardless of registration status) which would ban their employees from investing in cryptocurrency or NFT investments based on the same arguments as the ban of initial public offerings and options – i.e. that they are too risky and may tempt an employee to steal if not prohibitive.
  

It's all straight-forward and commonsensical. SEC registration establishes critical requirements that protect investors from individual risk and protect capital markets from global systemic risk. The requirements also make U.S. markets among the safest, most robust, most vibrant and most desirable marketplaces in the world.

So I was feeling completely fine all day. Went shopping, tried eating a bit, and then while I was sitting in my chair, sudden bad lower abdominal pain began. I let some gas out, and decided to go use the restroom. Started as normal poop and turned into diarrhea that burned by the end. My lower abdomen hurt super duper bad. But then it sort of subsided. I began freaking out and took 3 nauzene tablets. I'm so worried I'm gonna throw up. I felt hungry this morning, and ate about 1.5 hours ago (just toast). I ate breakfast yesterday but all I had in the evening was a few snack bars. Yesterday was hard, I was having a ton of anxiety after I gagged on some apple sauce for no reason. But then I got really hungry the rest of the day/evening. Like now as I'm typing, I don't feel a ton of stomach pain anywhere. In fact, I think I might feel a bit hungry. But it's always hard for me to tell if I'm hungry, as I stress out that hunger pains might be sick pains in the stomach too. My stomach feels a tiny bit tight, but that might just be the nauzene?
Yesterday I took like 10-14 nauzene tablets, and today I've taken 6 so far. I eat them like candy to help with my anxiety about this, maybe that caused the diarrhea? • Budget of 400K-450K to buy upfront (no mortgage). Between my dad and I we can arrange for this much, but it will be almost all of my savings
• Looking in GTA, but a safe neighborhood (avoiding Brampton, Jane & Finch)

Bought my first single family house (new construction) in October '21 as primary residence. Will move out at 2 year mark into new primary (another new construction, single family), keeping this one as rental property. I am thinking about making this a pattern to slowly build a "portfolio".

My primary goal would be to benefit from the appreciation, even if my rental income does not exceed the mortgage. So long at the sell price - buy price > maintenance + interest, this would make sense right? The two year as primary residence plan is driven by the capital gains law as I understand it. These have been harvested from a rebranded Wyse PCE with a PCB and case date code of 1988. I've included some pictures in the timestamp album. They were cleanly de-soldered and then disassembled and cleaned 1 switch at a time. I have made sure to not mix switch parts up so each switch was assembled using the original set of stems/housings. They have been lubed with a light coat of Krytox GPL 205g0 on the stems and railings, springs have been lubed with Krytox GPL 105 oil. Switches have been filmed using Durock 0.15 HTV/PC films.
*These are Hot-Swap compatible! Switches have been de-soldered cleanly and all the pins straightened. I have mounted each switch 5 times in different Kailh hot-swap sockets to ensure that they all register properly.

I am a college student on an one-month exchange program in France, with full scholarship awarded by the French Embassy/Consulate of France. Round trip direct flight tickets had been ordered for me by the French Embassy. In particular, the return flight was scheduled to be on the next day of the end of my program. As it is my first time visiting France, I have asked the embassy (before the start of the program) if I could slightly extend my stay so that I could do some sightseeing before returning to my home country. Since my program is very packed, I would not have the time for this during my designated stay. However, my request was rejected as I was told it would 'violate the terms and condition' of my government scholarship. They told me they would have to cancel my scholarship if I insist on changing the return date. Therefore, I have come up with two possible options: 1. Do not change the date of my return flight, but deliberately missing the flight and purchase another return flight on my own. However, this would be risky and somehow disrespectful. I am not sure if the embassy would find out, and if there would be consequences. 2. Take the return flight as scheduled, but taking another flight back to France on the same day. In other words, instead of purchasing only a single return flight as in option 1, I would have to purchase a round trip flight tickets on my own. Economically, the price of a single return flight and a set of round trip flight are very similar. However, I am not sure if this is allowed by the custom, and if I would face any extensive questioning/troubles in the airport. By the way, my visa does cover much longer than I need so that wouldn't be a problem in theory. I know option 2 sounds stupid, as two consecutive long flights maybe very physically demanding and it is a tremendous waste of time. However, I come from a very hectic field and this is probably my only chance to travel for a few days in the coming 5-10 years. What should I do?
