Ok, as title says, this is FM20, I'm not sure if various job titles/staff privileges or whatever are different across the games, but here's what's up:
I got hired to manager Anderlecht in a journeyman save some 4 yrs ago in-game. We've been really good, now real Champions League up-and-comers, and I want to release my Director of Football as it's the end of his contract and I think we've outgrown him. But it looks like he's somehow on the board (Secondary Job 'Director') at the same time as being my DoF. He's locked himself into a GBP330,000/yr contract, and even though I let his contract expire during the season, he's now staying on on a month-to-month basis. It looks like I cannot ask him to terminate mutually, or even force termination, and I think it's because he's somehow on my board. It also looks like I'm not able to offer him a new contract of any kind, had I actually wanted to extend him. Is this because he's somehow technically my boss, and he's basically hard-locked at the club? Would a club buy-out even change this?
I'm almost certain he was here when I arrived, and I'm pretty sure I had accepted no staff changes upon arrival as the job was a fairly big step-up from where I was. At this point, while his stats are still alright, there's no way he's the best available option, and his reputation is now considerably below the club's. I'm beginning to worry it's going to start catching up to us in terms of calibre of player signable, calibre of youth prospects, ability to do negotiation for me, etc etc.
And this has really pissed me off tbh. To think I got setup by my board and Michaël Verschueren has been a fox in the hen house this whole time... Would like to see the backs of all of 'em since I've already put in all the hard work making us competitive European wardogs, and have finally started stockpiling wonder-kids properly... Far as I'm concerned they've all got to go. Regrettably, the owner apparently feels as thought he'll "never leave of his own volition"... But I would very much like to have the volition after this debacle.
What plays might be open to me? Or am I just saddled with this man? Cheers in advance.

In 2001, my dad had a stroke that left him unable to drive, write extensively, or handle digital communication. So I do not have adhd but my roommate does along with several other health issues. I moved into the apartment they have rented for several years, and split all the bills. The apartment is very cluttered, not a single empty space (its been their home for years so it makes sense. But even my room has some of their stuff in it, i think on small shelf in my room is the only area that doesnt have something of theirs on/in/over it. Since moving in (less than a year) they have bought more stuff for the house (which is already full) but they also struggle with money. I'm probably going to be living here for another 5 months before I buy my own place and I've hit a wall on how dirty and cluttered the place is.
It's hard to clean because there is stuff on every single surface. We talked about this before, but I do 90% of the cleaning and I'm home like 10% of the time. They did set up a chore chart on the fridge to try and help remember to do stuff but all it really does is show me how much stuff I'm doing and what basics are just not getting done. I don't want to parent and I don't want to snap, but even things like dishes in the sink for days, when the empty dish washer is right there is constant. I'll clean and bam, they'll cook and not clean and I didn't even get to enjoy an empty sink for a day.
In the past my roommate and I have discussed them renting from me when I buy a place but, I'm terrified of what state my house would look like if we did that.
Any advice on how to address things and maybe see this from their perspective?

So, this is a sticky situation, and I need some perspective.
I recently purchased a BEAUTIFUL twin home built in 1915 with the intention of renting it to my brother and his family. They have 2 young children. The neighborhood is perfect, and all of the neighbors have been friendly and welcoming. It's been a dream purchase in a historic neighborhood where nothing is ever for sale. So when this home came on the market, I purchased it in cash with only a radon and insect inspection, which it passed with flying colors.
Now... here is where it gets interesting. The sellers of the home actually live in the other half of this twin. Under the same roof. So I was willing to give a little more benefit of the doubt due to the fact that they have lived there for 20 years and would obviously have kept the rental unit in good shape, after all they share a wall with it. Right?
The disclosure had a few small items... some mold remediation in 2012 (fine), and some flashing had been repaired on the roof last year. The roof was supposedly replaced in 2012.
Elsewhere on the disclosure:

• Any knowledge of defects with the stucco? NO
• Any knowledge of defect with water intrusion anywhere in the home? NO
• Any knowledge of knob and tube wiring? NO
• When was the last time the chimneys were cleaned? 2022

So, in this market, I bit the bullet based on how clean the disclosure was, having met the sellers and seeing them as a good, honest family with kids... very disarming.
Fast forward to 3 days before closing... I get a call from my agent that after the previous night's rain, there was some water in the kitchen that had come in through the hood vent over the stove. They'd have a roofer over to take a look and get back to me with a solution ASAP. Ok. No reason to panic.
The sellers came back with "the vent cap was too large and there was some backsplash coming back in through it, so we had our roofer replace it with the right size cap. Problem solved." Ok. No reason not to move forward.
The morning of the closing, we did a walk-thru and everything looked fine. Again, no reason not to proceed. So we did. The sellers wrote us a wonderful letter saying how happy they were to sell to such a great family and that they wished us happiness with the home. So nice.
A week later, I brought in some carpenters i've known forever who do amazing work on my home - I trust them implicitly. I asked them to take down the kitchen cabinets so that we could put in new ones, as these were a bit dated. No problem. One wall of cabinets came down without issue. But then, when they took down the cabinets affixed to the outside wall, there is was. A wet, horrifying stew of disintegrated wallboard, black mold, and the kind of smell that makes you want to vomit, if you havent already. It was BAD. So I told the guys, document it and rip it out. This is a serious issue and has to be remediated the right way. Immediately. There are kids living next door.
So upon doing that, over the next 2 days we discovered that the roof had been leaking for years. NOT from a vent cap. From stucco that had been badly patched and holes simply filled with caulk... the walls were never repaired. There were signs of repeated painting, and even fresh plywood laid in the bottoms of the cabinets so that no one would see that the bottoms of the cabinets were rotted through. It was clear the sellers not only knew about this problem, they actively tried to cover it up. And said NO to any knowledge of anything like this on the disclosure.
Now, a day later, a contractor working down the street popped over to say he was surprised that the cheap bastard was actually fixing things. We all froze. The seller actually solicited a bid to fix this? OH YEAH.. this guy tells us. He did, and then he said i was too expensive and he just needed me to patch it and paint it. He told us he refused because this was a structural issue that needed to be fixed.
THEN, the next day, I decided to reach out to the woman who lived in the unit prior to the sellers listing it. She went on an absolute rant about how there were always severe water and mold issues everywhere they they would band aid and never fix. She finally moved out because they were all so sick from the mold.
NOW... I know the burden of proof is high to prove that sellers willfully omitted material defects from a disclosure and deliberately lied. And concealed. The contractor cant find the estimate he gave the seller but he can attest to many conversations he had with him about it.
Have I met this burden? An attorney has told me I have, but what would. you do in this situation, KNOWING your family has to live here next to these clowns once the repairs are made?

Billions are laundered through Canada's housing system every year as anonymous corporate entities bully-offer their way into greater amounts of laundered money. There was a fentynal ring caught in BC offering loans to Chinese dissidents unable to get their wealth from out of China, the money came from fentynal which is killing tens of thousands of people. Whats an extra 100,000-500,000 or even a million to a launderer? It's just more laundered money: perfect. Oh, and all this activity increases the price more so it appreciates into the bubble? Double perfect.
Saudi multi-billionaire or possibly trillionaires, the Chinese, etc. are buying condos and houses by the dozens. We decided to temporarily ban foreign investors for a couple years but how can we effectively inact any housing policy when we don't even have a national database of who owns what corporation or property? This is extremely disheartening and to be honest it is pathetic. How can we be so blind to the most basic facts of our own country? I am disturbed by our lack of inter-provincial cooperation and federal leadership when it comes to these kinds of things.
This CBC article lays it out for all to see. It is as if our laws don't consider the possibility that anyone would act selfishly to a psychopathic extent or lie, or deceive. We need to do much better if we want a fair society where people have any hope at all.
Further question: why do we allow corporations to buy houses at all? If the company needs to run from the house like a hair dresser, so be it but why are we allowing "entrepreneurs" to profiteer off of the misery of society? Scalping was jeered when it was hand sanitizer during covid, but we are ok with it for housing? Progressively tax residential property ownership and don't allow limited liability corporate entities from buying houses. Don't allow so many to make it a career to crush everyone's pay cheque and society into dust. We need regulations and taxes to prevent people from taking advantage of and harming others, including laundering money or scalping the market.
REITs (real estate investment trusts) are the literal commoditization of homes to the profit of "investors". This should be banned. Some of the worst run places are REIT owned. No place for these to exist at all, make their existence illegal. Who knows who owns these companies either? The way our laws are, may as well be a Chinese or Saudi REIT.

Hello! So basically my fiance and I had moved into this house in the city (St. Louis, MO), signed a lease, paid the down payment and first month's rent, the whole shabang. After some unforeseen circumstances 2 days later, we felt incredibly unsafe in this part of the city and decided to move. The lease outlined that ending the contract early is possible by paying 1.5 month's rent and providing a 30 days notice. Via email, we provided 30 days notice and asked for instructions on how to pay the fee. Their response was that we didn't have to worry about paying the fee and we would be refunded our money up until that point. When we asked about when they want us out, they said that the lease is broken, and that it is up to us when we leave. We responded and moved out 2 days later, 4 days in total after initially moving in. To reiterate, this was all done via email. On the moveout day, we asked what they want us to do about keys, they ghosted us and haven't responded for a week now. My question is, are these emails legal changes to the original agreement? The lease does say that the moveout process can be started and communicated via email. We are just worried that since ghosting us, they are trying to maybe pull a scam or something since they were never the best / most trustworthy leasing company to begin with. I placed an order at around 9 in the morning on Tuesday. My partner and I are generally pretty diligent in locking our doors, but it just so happens that he forgot to lock it the previous night after he came back in from walking the dog. So that was a goof on our part but it still doesn’t excuse what happened next.
I’m still in bed, my partner is fast asleep when I suddenly hear our door open. I hear a male voice yell “HELLO? HELLO?” and some shuffling around in our kitchen. (The front door of our apartment leads directly into our kitchen ) I freeze, not sure what to do, but then I hear the door close again. I guess I got an adrenaline rush as I got really angry, got up, threw some clothes on and went to the front door.
Now I made it very clear in the instructions to just leave the food at the door. I go in and see the dasher quickly placing the food in the specified spot and taking a picture of it, like he was supposed to.
I opened the door and very irritatedly said “did you just walk into my house?” He got all nervous and said something along the lines of “yes I was just trying to find the delivery spot I am sorry” and I snapped back with “Ok that’s fine but you can’t just do that. It’s an invasion of privacy. The instructions on where to leave the food were clear, and you are obviously able to follow them. There is no excuse for barging in - at the very least knock next time if you’re not sure. Please leave.” I took my food and shut the door in his face.
I immediately took the issue up with DD support, and naturally they didn’t give a fuck or follow up with me at the time they promised. Their CS is useless but that’s another story. I didn’t bother contacting the police either as I know they wouldn’t be of any help. As I said I heard some rustling around, but nothing appeared to be stolen.
Has anyone else had an experience like this? If so, what did you do about it?

Hey everyone so this requires a lot of backstory to make sense, so please bear with me here.
I grew up with an abusive mother and a dad who either encouraged it or looked the other way. I am a college student and am working as a researcher for the summer with free on campus housing and pay, which meant I was only going to be home for about a week before moving back onto campus for research. Unfortunately for me, I was kicked out only after a few days home and with still a week before I could move back onto campus, so I essentially became homeless. I had to fight to get the clothes I was wearing, the phone I bought as backup for situations like this, and my computer. I found a place to stay for the week I couldn't be on campus but it was still stressful and still is because I've lost my family, home, and all my belongings. This is where the issue with my boyfriend comes in. We've been together for about a year, and we've had a lot of ups and downs in our relationship, mainly to do with the fact that I felt he did not make enough time for me. I am going to be completely open and honest and admit that I was pretty awful to him. While it is no excuse, growing up in a household like I did made it difficult to develop healthy ways of communicating, and more often than not my immediate reaction to being hurt (his seeming lack of care due to rarely speaking to me or spending time with me) is to usually get mad and lash out. I know this is not right, and I do not want to hurt him, let alone anyone, like that, so I have been working on myself at getting better at communicating and not lashing out like I had been. It hasn't been easy, and I'm not perfect, but I have been trying. I however, feel that he has not worked at all on giving me time, and I tried to be understanding about this as much as I could during the school year because I know he is very stressed (he is in a demanding major and has to keep his GPA up for scholarships and things). My communication about wanting more time with him was usually met with some version of "I can't I'm too busy", which upset me but ok fine whatever. Recently though, his classes ended shortly after mine, and I know (because he told me) he is working as a Paid intern in essentially a 9-5 job. Which to me, should mean he is less busy and would be able to (and want to) interact with me more. This was not the case at all. It took days after I had been kicked out of the house to get ahold of him and inform him of everything that had happened. After this, I would wait 12+ hrs for a response from him. I know that sometimes his phone acts up and doesn't work very well, but he has also communicated with me through snapchat or Instagram on his computer, and he didn't even bother to do that either. This lack of talking went on for 2 weeks, meaning I was moved onto campus and literally a 15 minute drive from him for a week with still next to no communication or anything. This obviously, upset me very much as I was going through a lot and he was supposed to be less busy now and he was still barely talking to me. In my upset, I essentially told him that I expected him to be more there for me in the difficult time I'm having, I didn't appreciate him being MIA, and that this wasn't the type of relationship I wanted and he could have a nice summer. He basically said that it wasn't intentional and his phone was acting up but he could've done better. I didn't respond because we've had this conversation so many times and he knows how I feel and he never fixes it so him saying that did nothing to change my mind. I would have given him a second chance if he started putting more effort into talking to me and actually making time for me, but that's the last he messaged me until the literal next day when he asked if I was taking calls, and said he had called me, when I hadn't received any calls. He essentially left it at that until 2 days later I called him. He picked up and sat there in silence for a whole minute before I gave up and hung up. He sent me a message asking why I called him to ignore him and hang up. When I told him I didn't hear him say anything, he said word for word "whatever. Not my fault you didn't hear me". Now, I don't see how else you could read that, but I took that as very sassy and like he couldn't give a shit about us talking or not. I blew up on him and told him I gave him so many chances, even after I had decided I was done I was still waiting for him to prove me wrong so I could give him a second chance, because I love him and if we can work things out I don't want to have the relationship end. I said something along the lines of "Anyone would think you don't want to be with me" and he responded with "Well, anyone would think I'm in an abusive relationship from how often I get kicked out and emotionally bounced around". For context, when he would be over to visit at my apartment and he'd do something that would upset me, I'd tell him to get out of my apartment, and once I calmed down enough I'd realize I didn't want him to go. Which yeah, I'm really lucky he put up with that and I should have never done that to him, but I felt that that wasn't the point of the conversation and said as much to him. We had already talked about that stuff and I've apologized and I'm working on it and I have been getting better, which even he agrees with. So I just felt it unnecessary to bring up a separate problem. I said to him "have I gotten a sorry? I'll work on it? Or anything other than a "you suck more?"" And he said he supposedly had wanted to say all these things over a call. At this point, I had to stop talking and go because, since I'm now homeless essentially and will be moving into an apartment, I needed furniture, and the university was trashing old furniture and I either needed to get it right then or not at all. He called twice while I was gone, and I was gone for a little over an hour. When I got back I tried calling him back, and I sent him a message saying to call me back. He has not spoken to me since then. He has not opened a single message on instagram or snapchat (I have an android so I don't know if he opened my texts). I'm honestly at a loss of what to do. I said before that if this can be salvaged I want to do that because l do love him and still want to work through things with him, and it seemed like that had been what he was willing to do right before I had to go, but now all of a sudden he isn't speaking to me. It's been almost two weeks and I'm scared he'll never talk to me again. I want to send him a big text just saying how I care about him and would like to talk to him but I don't know if I should or if he would even read it. He hasn't blocked or unadded me, he's just not opening or answering anything. Help????

So I am a 28 male and just wanted to get on here and say what's on my mind, because apparently I can't talk to my wife about it. My stupid brain won't let me. I was an army brat and in the army for nearly 8 years. I met my beautiful wife in the army and I am so happy for that. But once I met my wife I didn't want to be in the army anymore (it was my own choice). I just remember when my dad deployed I was devastated and don't want that for any future kids we have. We met while deployed and we decided to move in together after and we got married another year after that. She moved in with me from across the country. I was out of the army by the time we were married and I was happy. We weren't in a great place financially but we were happy. She got a great new job with great benefits, I was working as a bartender which I loved since it was at a brewery and beer is a passion of mine. They even told me I had a chance to be assisant brewer. I was happy. But it seemed since I left the army my overall happiness had gone down. It is weird since I was more outwardly happy. To get to the point I was led on by my job and they didn't hire an assistant brewer and just paid a buddy of mine more to fill in when needed. I was very upset as I was about to use my GI bill to go to school for brewing and I was actually actively learning and helping. By this time this was my second job to make ends meet, (I picked up a labor job at my wife's job for good pay), I was pissed at my managers. I left the bartending job and was just working my other job. I hate this job. It does offer a good career and benefits but it destroys my soul and body. I don't have great knees being in the army and this job has me standing for 11 hours a day 4 times a week. I don't shy away from hard labor but I sometimes can't walk from our car to our apartment because my knees are in so much pain. This plus we started to realize that my debt was becoming a little bit much. We are trying to recover and push the debt back but it's hard when her family who love us very much wants to visit almost every month. It put pressure on us to host and feed. This last time it was the worst. Her 3 brothers (21,19,16) and a GF came to visit before their mothers wedding one state over. We had to get a rental because our car can't fit everyone and it was a big financial strain. They were aware of this and paid for gas the whole way and helped pay for most meals. It helped so much because we wouldn't have been able to do so as unexpected bills popped up or expenses we didn't see. Her dad even sent us $300 to help. We barely made rent that month. I love her family and the help but them coming is more of a strain than not coming. Once we got back from the family road trip from the wedding. One of my dogs was getting sick. He was a little Italian greyhound mix with blonde curly hair. He was at least 11 years old and I had him the longest. He was my best friend. I had taken a week off of work with pay for the wedding then took another week of no pay leave to take care of my dog. He had kidney stones and we didn't have the money to the vet. We changed his diet and hand fed him. But he got weaker and weaker. I spent my last $20 buying a nutritional gel for him cause he wouldn't eat. By the end of the week he was half his size (he's normal 15lbs). My dad offered to pay for euthanasia. (He want to pay for the vet but he was also smack in the middle of buyinga house, like he closed the next day.) My dog was put down and was one of the hardest decisions I needed to make. So here I am. 2 weeks after putting him down. This happened over the span of 2 years. I have been fighting this chronic depression and PTSD and now my dog is gone. So yeah here it is. We live in a HCOL area, there are some smaller houses(2 br 1 ba) in worse (somewhat dangerous) neighborhoods that’s sell for 400k-450k. The house that we would buy is the house we are renting now and seems to be a good deal, and the ideal neighborhood with high likely hood of appreciation. I would likely keep roommates until our incomes increase enough to not feel house poor, or interest rates drop. Is this a stupid idea? I don’t know what to do….it seems like there is no options for us…..so little supply and so expensive.

Hi everyone! Hoping to bounce some ideas off y'all. My husband and I are 28 and we just bought a house in October and had our first baby. Our mortgage is $2k per month, but my MIL lives in our converted garage and pays us rent, so we pay 1.5k per month. I make about 4k per month after taxes, and my husband makes about 2k per month, but he will probably make about half that as he plans on going to part time later in the year to care for our daughter. We have 20k in a HYSA, ~30k in my pension, and then he has a 401(k) but I don't think there's a lot in there. We just started a 529 for our baby. We have no car loans, student loans, credit card debt, etc, just our mortgage.
We both have to commute to work. I have to drive to work three or four days per week and he has to drive in four days per week. We have a pretty reliable 2016 Kia Soul, but my problem is my 1992 Ford Ranger. I love my truck for sentimental reasons (it was my late favorite Aunt's) and I've kept it in really good shape. For a thirty year old truck it's pretty great and has been my daily driver. Late last year my transmission went out and even though it was probably a bad financial decision, I replaced it. So, I've sunk a lot of money into it. I'm worried my sentimental love for it might be clouding my judgement.
This week my truck had to go to the mechanic again. The check engine light was on, the power steering pump is going out, etc. All in all they quoted me 2k to fix what it needs. I did the bare minimum to get the light off and told them I'd think about the rest. So, I'm thinking. Do I continue to pour money into it? Maybe at this age it shouldn't be my daily driver. It's not the safest vehicle, I don't want to put my baby into it. And maybe it's not the best financial decision to keep driving it.
I was thinking about getting a used car, maybe in the 10k range. Just something in good shape and reliable that I can put my baby in. I don't really want to go to a dealership. I was thinking I'd do a private sale and then have a mechanic look at it before I buy. That would leave us ~10k in our HYSA, depending on the price of the car.. I'm concerned that that's not a very large emergency fund. We just replaced our AC in our home I think we will need to replace the water heater in the next year, and the roof maybe in 5-10 years. Other than that I don't anticipate major house expenses soon, but expect the unexpected right? And with a new baby I don't know what to expect. I also know it's not a great time to buy a used car, but I'm not sure it's going to get any better.
And then I'm left with the decision of what to do with my truck, since the thought of getting rid of it entirely gives me anxiety, but I guess that's a separate problem. Any other ideas that I haven't thought of yet? Advice? Thank you guys, I know this was a lot of reading! Writing it all out helps me think about it too.

But the man I know, IV drugs, no job - living off the survivors checks from his wife who passed away from IV drug use, giving away every cent of that to "girlfriends" on the internet that promised him the world only to never show up, and so much more. He did all of this and expected me and my husband to take care of his every need, cook him food, shelter, cigarettes, our internet where he could talk to the "girlfriends", rides anywhere he wanted to go, and to come and go as he pleased.
You can skip this next part to get to my dilemma or read for a little context this is a summary not everything he put us through
《A little of his story: He had a fully functioning house, water, electricity, gas, heating and ac. Started really getting into drugs, and the "girlfriends" well there went the money for the bills and food. Around this time we decided to put a trailer on some property he owned and in return keep up and maintain the 3 acres (because he wasn't and the city was on him). When signing the land rental agreement he unbeknownst to us put we had to pay him $400 to stay on the property. So we paid that to him but he also wasn't paying the property tax on the land, we paid that too. All the while every summer and winter when it got to hot/cold he stayed with us rent free ate our food and made himself at home. Coming and going as he pleased sometimes with our vehicles...gone for days. We decided we had enough of living by his terms since we were on his land and he felt like he could access our home anytime he felt like... so we got a house. While the trailer was in selling limbo he broke into it, rented it out falsified our names to have utilities cut on. ~ fast forward a bit he sells his house and gave the money to a "girlfriend" and started drawing early retirement. Still giving every penny to different "girlfriends" and dumpster diving for food. With the trailer finally off his land he made essentially a homeless camp and invited his druggy friend to slum it up with him. Still coming to our house during the summer and the winter to survive and mooch off of us. We'll his druggy friends kick him off "his" property (it got sold at auction). He started living with other druggy friends but they had no running water food, anything really but a house and electricity. He starts taking the bus to our house and randomly showing up for food. Somehow my husband convinced me to let him live here instead of like a homless man. I agree.》 ☆I'd like to add while all of this was happening we found out our son was level 3 autistic needing significant supports, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, ABA therapy, so we had our hands full☆
Back to the main point... he came to live with us, I expected withdrawals from the drugs, well after a few months I noticed he wasn't getting better, 3 months of begging him to go to the doctor even me putting him on medicaid where he could go... refused right until 2 weeks ago when he could barely breathe. I bring him to a quick care they take and x ray and tell us to immediately go to the hospital. Hospital 3 blood clots, and what they suspect to be level 3 or 4 lung cancer (won't know until they do an out patient biopsy). They do a few surgeries 1 to remove the 2 blood clots in his lungs 2 to put a filter in his heart. He is currently in rehab to build the strength to come home.
■ Problem ■ During the hospital stay my sister in law swoops in after having nothing to do with her dad for years, doctor told her her dad would have a year to live, doctor told my husband 4 to 9 months to live. Sister in law knows someone who has stage 4 lung cancer and has been alive for 3-4 years with it thinks the doctor doesn't know what he's talking about. I asked if we should put him in a home after rehab, i have a lot to juggle with my son. Sister in law shoots down that idea with a bit of an attitude, and says he WIL stay at home as long as possible. ○keep this in mind○ I explained to her I'm putting our son back in speech therapy and occupational therapy during the summer (school provides it during the year) and we have had a disney trip planned for over a year now, my sister in laws wife is a teacher and says she'll help. We find out he is getting out this Friday (tomorrow), we leave for Disney Sunday and don't get back till Saturday night. I explain he cant stay at my house unattended especially just coming out of rehab. He is now on oxygen and has to use a walker, I just know in my bones my father in law is going to fall. I say he can go to your house for a week and come back or you can come stay at our house for a week till we come back and then I'll take over care. NOPE my sister in law says, he can't come to her house ... I put my foot down ... he isn't staying here unattended. She responded with well I guess he's just going to have to go into a home.
FIRST OFF I NEVER WANTED TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR DYING FATHER, I am disabled and have my appointments to attend as well as my son's therapy appointments to attend but you just expected me to take care of him till he died. I got over it and accepted that I was going to be his caretaker, even though this shouldn't have been my responsibility.
It all boils down to it was okay when I was going to take full care of him, but when you need to take care of him for 1 week (7 days) he has got to go into a home.

Hello! I'm the same person who made this post and ever since then I have spent hours binging AHS season 2 through 11. I thought I could give my two cents as a brand new fan and hopefully open an interesting discussion! :D The ranking of each season depends on several factors, such as probability of me rewatching it, how immersed I was in the story, how much I liked the characters, and stuff like that. I'll be starting from the bottom and make my way up to first place. Keep in mind I'm not trying to hate on the lowest ranked seasons, I'm just explaining how I perceived them and hopefully somebody can change my mind!

1. Double Feature - it feels unfair to put this one at the absolute bottom because I generally liked Red Tide a lot, I enjoyed seeing Lily Rabe and Finn Wittrock playing the protagonists and their daughter was a pretty ok (slightly antagonistic?) character. I also enjoyed Evan Peters as Austin Summers, just a funky dude. Unfortunately, the complete mess that was Death Valley brings this down to last place. I may be biased because I don't like aliens/UFOs/space-themed things, but the second part just felt so out of place and cluttered. The whole alien pregnancy thing just felt gross to watch, to me. Death Valley was incredibly boring and I didn't understand much of the black&white parts of the episodes. If it wasn't for Death Valley, I'd probably rank this season on place 7.
   
2. Hotel - it was very difficult for me to get through this season. I very much enjoyed James Patrick March and The Countess as characters, but besides them I didn't have a lot of interest in the rest. I didn't really enjoy John Lowe as the protagonist (I'm also not familiar with the actor) and at the end I didn't get what the message was. It felt a bit out of place that this season played out in modern times, I think I would've enjoyed it more if it were the fifties or something like that. I also cringed a bit hearing the Swedish girls talk (I am Swedish), but I guess that's just a personal thing... I'm surprised they survived until the end though (unless my memory betrays me), but honestly that was an interesting detail. I think people here have mixed opinions of Hotel, I usually see it falling somewhere in the bottom-middle of rankings... James March was entertaining to watch and I found him pretty funny, but I think he was the only character that made it worthwhile for me to continue watching.
   
3. NYC - to my knowledge, this season is all about the AIDS epidemic and the history of homosexuals in USA... which was interesting and insightful to watch! The last two episodes were a bit of a bore for me, but I found the rest of the episodes pretty good. I read somewhere that Big Daddy was supposedly a symbol of AIDS/HIV(?) which I think was creative. Honestly though, I almost solely watched this season for Zachary Quinto, lol, and I think he was great! With Evan Peters, Jessica Lange, and Lily Rabe missing I didn't find this season as interesting as the older ones, but in general I think this season highlighted the struggles of LGBTQ people during that time period in the US pretty well. Though it's not a subject I'm passionate about, it made me more knowledgeable. I was happy to see Patti LuPone and Joe Mantello as I had previously seen both of them in the show "Hollywood"!
   
4. Apocalypse - like many others have said, this season kind of feels like a Coven 2. I was very happy to see the witches returning and I think them fighting the Antichrist was entertaining, as well as seeing his backstory explained (plus bringing back Jessica as Constance). The first few episodes were a bit slow, but ultimately it was fun watching the witches battle the (male) witches for the place of the Supreme. Besides that, I didn't think this season was that remarkable, and I think it would've been justified as a part two of Coven instead of a stand-alone season. I think this season got my hopes up because of its name (I like apocalypse-themed movies, like 2012, World War Z, Greenland...), so that's why it takes eighth place.
   
5. Roanoke - it was definitely different seeing the "show within a show" turn the directors decided to take, and I think it was well-executed! The story was relatively easy to follow, and I think Kathy Bates played an excellent role. Short as his screen time might be, I liked Evan Peters' performance as Edward Mott (it was interesting to see a character related to Dandy Mott also!). This season definitely felt a bit more raw and scary, and I generally enjoyed it a bunch. The reason it's not higher on the list is because I wasn't really used to the "show within a show" concept and I didn't find any characters particularly extraordinary, but it was a fun season and I liked it nonetheless.
   
6. 1984 - just like Roanoke, the storyline was easy to follow and I liked seeing Emma Roberts this time around as well. While I think it was good, I couldn't go in-depth about it because it felt a bit... light compared to other seasons? Maybe because it only had 9 episodes, but it didn't give me enough time to really become interested in the characters and wanting to know their backstory. It was kind of a feel-good season for me because I just love the 80s and its whole aesthetic (+music and fashion), and so I didn't focus a whole lot on the plot. I did enjoy the ending though and in my opinion it is one of the best season endings in AHS (always happy to see Finn Wittrock returning). I can imagine rewatching it, this time paying a bit more attention to the details rather than the aesthetics.
   
7. Coven - so, prior to even watching AHS, I had heard and seen a lot of Coven. Supposedly many people say it's one of the most iconic seasons. In general, I like witches and spells, and I think the casting this season was perfect. The reason this one falls a bit low though, is because of the treatment of Kyle by Zoe and Madison. The fact they built the perfect body for him, then resurrecting him, then bringing him to his abusive mother was so unbeliavably cruel. It's not like Kyle returned to his old self once he came back to life, he was aggressive and confused and had to be taught basic things like a lab rat and he was treated like an object, more or less. It was saddening to see and I honestly don't appreciate the direction they decided to go with his character. I think if Kyle had ended up not getting into the bus and getting killed (instead discovering the witches on his own and being part of their company) it would've been way more interesting! So yeah, I miss pre-death Kyle. It was also a bit confusing for me to understand the plot and some of its witchy concepts, but for that reason I might also rewatch this one. However, I cannot explain how much I loved Fiona and the Axeman - I am obsessed with them and I don't know what the general consensus of this "ship" is, but Danny Huston and Jessica Lange's chemistry together is amazing, which is why I was happy to see him starring in Freak Show as well! I also found Delphine and Queenie's interactions hilarious, and was happy to see they ended up being friends despite their different... views. Generally, it's fun seeing a character from like the 1700s travel to modern time and having to get used to what's happening now.
   
8. Cult - I've seen many people here saying they don't like Cult because it's too political, which is understandable, but as somebody who enjoys politics (and is non-American!) this season was incredibly insightful for me. I got an image of how the US in 2016 might've looked, both for politicians and citizens. Kai Anderson was a bit of an infuriating character since he reminded me of chronically online redpilled incels, but I think he was a good antagonist and Evan played him perfectly. I was happy to see Winter not taking the same direction as her brother politically, instead standing her ground and holding her own beliefs whilst also having a kind of wholesome bond with him. I think Ally could get a bit annoying at times with all of her phobias, but ultimately I don't really dislike her. I enjoyed this season lots actually, even though I don't tend to prefer seasons being played out in modern time.
   
9. Murder House - like many here have said, this is the season that made most people watch AHS, and so I think it deserves appreciation for that alone. While I think Ben and Vivien seemed a bit underdeveloped, I enjoyed Evan's first role as Tate, as well as Taissa Farmiga as Violet. I'm not the type to "ship" Tate and Violet, but I did find their interactions interesting because of their different personalities. Initially I didn't pay a lot of attention to Jessica Lange as Constance, but in hindsight I can say she played a vital role. I found the feud between Constance and Moira funny at times, and I also enjoyed Jamie Brewer's performance when she played Adelaide! I did find Hayden pretty irritating though. Besides that, this is an entertaining season and I have no bigger issues with it... was also happy to see Zach here, lol.
   
10. Freak Show - I like the concept of horror circuses and scary clowns, so this was an easy season for me to digest. I know quite a few people don't like Jessica Lange's singing performances this season, but I honestly think she killed the cover of "Gods and Monsters". Seeing Pepper's backstory was sad, but it was also interesting seeing why she had ended up at Briarcliff. It was pretty fun seeing Michael Chiklis (Dell Toledo) since I had previously seen him playing in the show Gotham, and as always nice to see Danny Huston. I know a lot of people here also don't like Dandy Mott, but honestly, I think Finn Wittrock KILLED this role. He wasn't your typical villain, he was a rich, spoiled, man-child who kept throwing tantrums and I found that so funny. I also enjoyed Frances Conroy's performance as Dandy's mother Gloria. I was surprised to see Neil Patrick Harris in this season, but he played his role pretty good and I think he made the later episodes a bit more interesting. I think the highlight of this season is definitely Dandy Mott, he was hilarious and appeared super annoying but also had a very dark personality... and his mother trying to defend him, lmao. Also was fun seeing Twisty return in Cult! Great season all around, honestly.
    

1.Asylum - you know it... this is a masterpiece, in my opinion. This season, I was interested in pretty much everybody's backstory (Sister Jude, Sister Mary Eunice, Dr Arden, the Monsignor, Grace, Kit, Thredson...). This season actually disturbed me a lot (Lana essentially being taken captive at this insane asylum for being a lesbian, Jessica Lange's spooky performance as a devout nun...), and don't even get me started on Shelley's mutilation. I like shows/movies centered around insane asylums generally, so it wasn't difficult for me to get hooked. I just think the casting was on point, the storyline was cohesive but it also made me think and speculate... I was relieved to see Lana killing her son in the end, honestly, and I think the last episodes wrapped this season up well. If I were to say something a little less good about this season though, it's that the whole alien-concept felt a little out of place (then again I'm biased, so I'm not really mad about that), and also the fact that Oliver Thredson's mommy issues felt a bit... fetishistic at times? which made me cringe and skip some scenes, but I mean, I guess disturbing was the goal? And y'all already know I like Zach... who killed this role yet again. Great performances from everybody. Heartwarming seeing Kit and Jude's relationship when Jude got out of the asylum. The perfect, number one season for me.
Okay, phew. That was a bit long which I apologise for... and please excuse my repeated usage of the words "interesting" "fun" "easy", I'm a bit tired right now, ha. I hope people will change my mind about Hotel because I really do want to enjoy that particular season more. Again, I don't mean to hate or bash any seasons, I'm just giving my opinion as a brand new watcher and fan. I'm sure some older fans on here can help me understand the appeal of the lower-ranked seasons! Not sure if I should proceed to watch American Horror Stories... if it's any good, I just might.

His grandparents got something last summer for our family reunion in another state that was absolutely amazing (and shockingly large for an inflatable water slide).
The bars been set pretty high there - so any recommendations for a quality location to rent something like this?

My wife and I currently live in a condo that's under my wife's name. This has been our primary residence for about 5 years.
I have another condo that was our previously primary residence, but has been rented out for the past 5 years. This one is under my name.
Now we are about to upgrade to a bigger house. We would like to sell both our condos after closing out the new house because we dont want to deal with the headaches of being a landlord.
I understand that selling and buying primary residence should not trigger any tax. However, what to do with our second condo? I would like to use the proceedings to pay off some of the principals for our new house, so technically it's used for our primary residence.
What's a good strategy to avoid or reduce my tax burden when selling my condo?

Ian immediately makes big changes: he tells them that he plans to take the Noble House public to Alastair and Phillip's indignation, he ends the compradore system, he makes them reveal to each other stock holdings that were previously unbeknownst to either and then takes it to use for the Noble House, and more. At the end, we learn that Lasting Cloud has been lost on the sea which had sizable cargo worth $12 million.

Armstrong and Chen meet Bertlett's plane on the tarmac. Armstrong inspects the cargo and meets the crew. Bartlett has a meeting with Ian Struan later.
Will Bartlett try to take over the Noble House? Will stock holdings somehow play a part? Maybe Bartlett wants to buy shares of Struan since Ian is taking it public. What do you guess?
Are mentions of firearms being forbidden foreshadowing? Janelli the pilot told a story about Hong Kong where only riots were put down because only the police, not the populace, have firearms.

"Four Finger" Wu Sang Fang - Captain of the Seaborne Wu
Wu is playing Mahjong with other Fisherman / Haklos and Tanka people. Wu is waiting for his Seventh Son (John Chen?) who informs him that something and someone (Linc Bartlett?) had arrived.
Ch. 3
Two Chinese men try to steal guns and contraband from underneath Bartlett's plane. They are caught by Armstrong and the police. Bartlett is interviewed by Armstrong and claims to know nothing. After Armstrong leaves, Bartlett phones K.C. and tells her "Geronimo." She says, "ok."
Ch. 4
K.C. reflects on the day of meeting Bartlett. Bartlett and K.C. wonder who planted the guns. Geronimo means "danger." "Houseboy" Chang and "Third Toiletmaid" Fung talk about the inappropriateness of K.C. sharing a suite with Bartlett while not being intimate. They play the stock market and place odds hoping that Struan succeeds so they become rich.

Brian Kwok - Hong Kong Special Intelligence
Chapter follows Ian Dunross and his interactions with police and assistants. He meets K.C. and they take an interest in each other. K.C. meets with the board of the Noble House and many don't know she's a woman. Women are still restricted in the world of Hong Kong elites. Claudia and Ian take bets on spies and information. Armstrong and Brian talk with Ian about their suspicions of John Chen and Tsu-yan, important figures in the Noble House, as being part of the gun smuggling, both currently missing. Tsu-yan left to Taipei mysteriously that morning and Chen is nowhere to be found. Ian is concerned.
