I know this may not be an equal comparison, but the Reddit API pricing change feels similar to YouTube hiding dislikes. Users were outraged, but what are you going to do? Ditch YouTube? Where else are you going to go?
Same for Reddit. If Reddit kills Apollo and RIF, some people might quit Reddit in protest and “find another app.” Yeah right, where else are you going to go? There isn’t an equivalent user base elsewhere.
Until Reddit has an actual compelling competitor, they can basically do whatever they want. We can protest all we want, but most of us are still going to be crawling back sooner or later.
I don’t like this situation, but it’s the one we’re in. Unless a significant chunk of Redditors banded together to form a new platform, we’re fucked.

I’ve got a few hair and beard mods installed and went into creation kit to edit him to my liking, but after I save my changes and load the game he still looks like this. Any advice? The changes loaded once, and then I went back into CK to remove a moustache from Brand-Shei, and Bryn is back rocking the look of my ex-boyfriend’s dad.

So basically I just got the waves subscription and did my first mix on FL, only to find out I can’t open that FLP anymore. It doesn’t say it’s corrupted but it freezes trying to open it.
On a test track I did 2 channels full of waves plugins and it opened back up fine, is it possible it at a certain point it’s just too much?
I used studiorack across 6 different channels in the mixer on the FLP that won’t open back up. I have a powerful pc so that shouldn’t be a issue either. Anyone have this issue or a work around? Totally defeats the purpose if I can’t re open my work. Thanks

I have been in LA since May 6th, but every day I'm here I'm more and more confused about where I want to live. Based on the info below, where do you think I should check out?
About me: I'm a 29, queer, poc, single woman, hoping to make a career in art/writing. I moved to find more creatives & community, to find my future wife, and to enjoy the warm weather. I do really enjoy swimming, so ideally would love access to a pool or beach. And I really need walkability to get me out of the house, and access to good parks (esp 420 friendly ones). I love thrifting and markets, I am a night owl so really love it when there are places open late near me. And I do have a car, but I really enjoy being able to hop on a bus or walk somewhere instead of having to drive 100%. I would love to have a ~500-600 sq ft studio that feels modern. My budget is under $2800/month
Places I've looked into, and the hesitations that make me confused:
West Hollywood: Very pricey and people say it's catered to predominantly white male gays. Love the nightlife and general greenery
Los Feliz: Pricey, not many apartments, and people say it gets boring living there. Very cute and I like the vermont/hillhurst strips
Silver Lake: Pricey, not many apartments, not very walkable, and people say it's kinda fake/hipster. I love the thrifting opportunities and central location
Echo Park: Pricey, not many apartments. I like the park and location, but not sure if I can find an apartment there.
North Hollywood: Feels small and a bit removed; the walkability of it is kind of limited to a few streets. I do like that it's a bit of a chiller vibe and has a good amount affordable apartments.
DTLA: Everyone seems to have a horror story of living in DTLA. I was about to sign on an apartment in South Park, but was worried that the mess and griminess of the city would get to me. Love the walkability, but not sure if it's safe at night.
Santa Monica: Pricey, lots of tech people. Santa Monica feels like SF where artists are getting priced out, so I'm worried about not finding my people. Otherwise, good walkability and beach access
Long Beach: Far from most other places, I'm a bit worried about there not being as much to do. Seems like there's a good queer community here, good access to the beach and generally walkable in some areas.
Feel free to share new places I should check out! Honestly, I am having a hard time feeling like I love LA. The sombrero was obviously used for the shade and rain which it comes from the word Sombro which is Shadow in English, these men would wear neckwear for the dust and to put it over the horse's eye. The Bandoliers were common just for more ammunition and storage of smaller items, bandits/vaqueros would wear leathewool for the warm weather, they used vests with standard equipment so the traditional is bests for this particularly Tan, Black and Brown. Collar over shirts were common amongst bandidos in Mexico and Texas during the last 1800s around the time period of red Dead and we're also common for businessmen, gamblers and cowboys. The gun belt and holster were the ones I found on some photos of bandidos and revolutionaries such as Emilano Zapata and were also found in some del lobos in New Austin. The Cabrera pants were based on the Calzone pants but could also work with the leather pants and bandito pants. Spurs were pretty much a standard for pride at least with vaqueros but they used it for better control of the horse as to not full kick the horse. Half Chaps and Stovepipe Square Toe Boots were found on revolutionaries, bandits, and Vaqueros were using this for leg protection and leg support. The queen and her dragon were a sight to behold. Both unscathed but also bearing signs of clear battle. Weathered and tired. Veterans of a fight they never wanted to participate in to begin with.
The both of them bathed in dried blood, Aerea slid off of the back of Lightweaver. Exiting the saddle and landing on the ground below, she dug her heels into the cobble with displeasure. Her armor had long become uncomfortable with sweat and grime and, of course, blood caked into its joints and on the layers she wore beneath. A long bath will be needed, Aerea idly thought, but nothing would wash the sin off of her.
Aerea would begin by removing her gauntlets as servants rushed to attend to her; Aerea would dismiss them after giving brief feeding instructions for her dragon. Her Grace required nothing and wanted for nothing. She felt nothing, too—how could one feel after they’d killed those they cared for the most? She did not allow guilt to consume her, however. There was nothing left for the guilt to eat at.
The long days and nights spent in flight were eerily calm and without trouble. They glided easily in the skies as though blessed with good, favorable weather, no qualms found. Aerea loathed it. Some part of her wanted struggle, strain, turmoil as to justify the pain that she’d endured. But nothing would do, and she would get no such luck. Only peace and her inability to calm her quarrelsome mind.
She found herself speaking, but did not recognize her deep, raspy voice as her own.

Riverrun had been a sight for sore eyes, a reprieve from the mountains and fields and the thoughts within her mind. Sleepless for countless days, there was no doubt in her mind that this event would bring even more of a headache than the one she’d nursed for so long.

The queen and her dragon were a sight to behold. Both unscathed but also bearing signs of clear battle. Weathered and tired. Veterans of a fight they never wanted to participate in to begin with.
The both of them bathed in dried blood, Aerea slid off of the back of Lightweaver. Exiting the saddle and landing on the ground below, she dug her heels into the cobble with displeasure. Her armor had long become uncomfortable with sweat and grime and, of course, blood caked into its joints and on the layers she wore beneath. A long bath will be needed, Aerea idly thought, but nothing would wash the sin off of her.
Aerea would begin by removing her gauntlets as servants rushed to attend to her; Aerea would dismiss them after giving brief feeding instructions for her dragon. Her Grace required nothing and wanted for nothing. She felt nothing, too—how could one feel after they’d killed those they cared for the most? She did not allow guilt to consume her, however. There was nothing left for the guilt to eat at.
The long days and nights spent in flight were eerily calm and without trouble. They glided easily in the skies as though blessed with good, favorable weather, no qualms found. Aerea loathed it. Some part of her wanted struggle, strain, turmoil as to justify the pain that she’d endured. But nothing would do, and she would get no such luck. Only peace and her inability to calm her quarrelsome mind.
She found herself speaking, but did not recognize her deep, raspy voice as her own.
“Bring me to the Lady Tully, and the Lady Hand.”

My daughter (11) bought some sandals that have a rainbow on it, she really likes them and didn’t know about Pride month or had knowledge of how some people associate rainbows with the LGBTQ+ community. She understands what the words homosexual, lesbian, and gay are, I don’t think she knows (or cares) about the others, and I haven’t felt the need to go into detail about it. School had a dress down day yesterday and during recess they watched a movie so she switched to these sandals. A boy started laughing and said: “you are gay”, she didn’t quite understand why he was laughing or seemed to mock her, I asked what she did and she said: “I told him I’m not gay, but if I was, the proper term would be lesbian, and then the entire class went silent, a few seconds later most of them clapped” I explained why he may have said that, and unfortunately had to also explain the word homophobic. She seemed fine, asked some questions, I answered, and everything was ok. Today before bed she asked if she should stop wearing her sandals in public, and said talking to a friend about the incident, she was told that saying the word gay is ilegal (we live in FL), and that she should let the school know to have that boy suspended. She doesn’t want to do that, I wouldn’t encourage it either, I know the boy is just copying someone else’s behavior, and the “don’t say gay” thing is a whole different subject. I just want to tell my daughter something that is going to help her feel better, she is too young to be fully exposed to how ignorant some people can be, and I don’t want to ruin her perception of FL (yet) … what would you say/do?

My family of five really wants to travel to Greece but the only time frame that works is the week before/after Easter in late March 2024. We are happy to participate in religious festivals surrounding Easter, tour historic sites, and experience local restaurants and traditions. We'd love a 5-star resort that may have a heated (plunge) pool. We aren't concerned that this isn't the popular time to visit Greece, but want to make sure it will still be a fun and cultural experience. So many sites say everything is closed and the weather is bad this time of year.

Just a bit of a rant to get this all off my chest. Last period (47) was in early January. Since then my grandmother passed, early morning the day after my birthday. My parents have (continually) threatened to sue me and my brother over our inheritence. My landlords informed me the next month that they were selling the property I have lived at for 17 years (offered to sell to me before putting on the market). Bf and I kinda knew this was coming for a few years and have been saving like crazy. Gma's generosity rounded out what we needed for down-payment. But this also means we are buying our own home AND the attached rental. Never been a landlord.
Six years ago bf fell ill and ended up paraplegic and had complications that kinda make him less than helpful in this whole endeavor. And his daily care (so lucky to have his mum to help out!) I looked at single homes (no rental) in our price range but nothing was ADA enough for move in so we decided to stay and I guess I'm gonna learn to be a landlord. We maybe close in another week.
The current renters "sneaked" in two dogs, one of which is a pit mix. So every spare moment the last two weeks I spent trying to find insurance that would take us and allow the dog. Not to mention gathering both mine and bf ppw for loan...taking off work for inspections, doing spring clean and spring yard work from dusk to dawn alone every weekend..and feeling super guilty that my long haired tiny dog and cat haven't gotten their summer hair cuts yet...
I'm so exhausted. I just want this house thing to be over and the weather to hit 110* so I can just have an excuse to spend a weekend on the sofa cuddled with my fur babies watching true crime or just staring at a wall dreaming of going to Tanzania. I can't afford a vacation away bc house now, but I also haven't had a real one of those in like 6 years.
Haven't had time to go to the doc in years...and was trying to decide between roof shingle options this morning (sellers are replacing roofs) and was like..."am I having a heart attack? Or just being super dramatic rn?"
