Dear Internet,
As you may have seen, Technodad and I have just launched the Festival of Voices. We have been working on this since February. I have been working on this every single day since February. This has been my life for MONTHS and I couldn’t tell you all. I wanted so desperately to tell you though. Believe me, I did. BUT NOW I CAN TOTALLY TELL YOU!!! LOOK AT THAT THING WE DID!!! LOOK AT WHAT WE BUILT!! It wasn’t perfect, but it truly had the spirit of Technoblade in it. We may have limped along but we never stopped, AND we raised SEVENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS!! I am exhausted, but so violently proud of it.
I want to say thank you to a couple of people because I believe in credit where credit is due. Icy, my day one on this. She was studying with me the day that Technodad first responded to me on Reddit. I told her I had a thing I needed help with, and 5 minutes later she texted me a Discord username she made just for this. She has let me sleep on her floor and eat her party muffins and sob uncontrollably at her desk. She has stood by me on this since the moment the idea slid into my brain. She was the one who saw me fall apart, she was there through every doubt, and every issue. She held my hand as we posted the announcements. She hugged me when I needed it. Without her, this would not have happened. I would have fallen flat on my face without her support. I don’t think I will ever be able to fully explain the depth of my gratitude.
Hous, Boomer, and Scar, my weird little internet siblings. They let me burst right into this little community they made, and they handled how quickly everything snowballed with a tremendous amount of grace. They deserve so much love for how quickly they adapted to my breakneck pace. But they also helped keep me sane. They keep my feet firmly on the ground, and I love them for it. Thank you for letting me keep my secrets, and learning a million and one things I asked you to. They are the brightest kids I know, and a testament to the power of young people. I have no doubts in my mind that they will all go on to do beautiful and amazing things.
Code, Spanner, Kiran, and Bump, the OGs. These guys have known me on the internet the longest. They watched me grow up, make a million and one mistakes and bounce back from them. They have seen me when I was a disaster and chose to stick with me anyway. I am so glad we found our way back together and I wouldn’t have picked a better team to build this dream with. They are truly incredible developers, certified geniuses, and WAY overqualified to be my tech support. I am so proud of that team, I am so proud to have worked with them, and I am so proud to continue to do so. Tommy, the man himself. I was so initially nervous to work with him, but through this entire process, he has been unfailingly kind, endlessly patient, and beyond supportive. I wake up every day in the life I thought I could only dream about, in part thanks to you. You are insane, ADHD, eccentric, and so SO thoroughly weird it's ridiculous. But we are the same. You have taught me so much about myself and the world around me these last few months, even if it was entirely by accident. In our first conversation you said “Not just one of us, two of us.” and I had no way of knowing just how true that was going to be. I had no clue. Whatever cosmic forces or god or even Alex pulled some strings to make this happen, did it in the most SPECTACULAR way. I will never be able to thank you enough. You have a pretty decent idea already though.

Hey! New to overclocking, apologies if I sound like an idiot, which I am. I finally got tired of my system instability in stuff, and I've been troubleshooting for a while now. I ran memtest5 with anita777 extreme, and I finally figured out what was the problem. I got a ton of errors running it when my RAM was set to DOCP, which is basically XMP for ASUS if I'm not mistaken. I turned it back to Auto and it has no errors now. (It was 6000 36-36-36-96, now it's 4800 40-40-40-76.) Running at the stock of 1.35v if that helps. So is there anything I can do to hit the speed on the box, or did I just get absolutely screwed over? Thanks!

A couple of online articles from the likes of Collider, Yahoo, and Polygon along with a new WatchMojo video titled “How Across The Spider-Verse Is Connected To The MCU EXPLAINED” are saying that the new animated masterpiece is an MCU movie despite being animated and having VERY different rules of the multiverse. I’m not bashing on the MCU or anything, I don’t hate it, but I just thought I should clear up some confusion with the following examples:

• That quote about “Doctor Strange and the little nerd” is just a fun reference and a meta gag as co-director Kemp Powers confirmed that ATSV has “no ties” to the MCU.
  
• That white tree in the MCU is not what Miguel pulled up as it’s just white lines that turn into a red web known as the Spider-Verse.
  
• It hasn’t been confirmed that Donald Glover's characters in ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE and HOMECOMING are exactly the same person. These movies have all sorts of variants and alternate versions these days. It's at the very least a strong nod to his previous turn as the character.

Back again with another game dev topic for discussion.
How realistic do you think the mechanics for a video game should be?
You have video games with very strict inventory size that add a touch of realism. Games like Earthbound, Hardcore Skyrim, some Final Fantasy games. Silent Hill 4.
At the opposite end you have link carrying items in his pouch of infinite size that also reduces the weight id all his items. I remember playing FFX and having dozens of weapons and armor for each character.
Suffering from injuries is also a place a developer can add some realism. Project Zomboid is amazing at specific body parts being injuried. Same thing with 7 days to die. If you sprained your ankle, running will delay the healing.
Fall damage is another place for realism in video games. In some games you can fall from infinite height and be fine. In other video games you can fall from like 4 feet and break your ankles.
Obviously video games are not going to be 100% realistic in all their mechanics.
What video games mechanics have you experienced that were made better or made worse by being more realistic?
For me the more realistic a monsters ability to track you the better. In the legend of zelda twilight princess, the goron boss battle, the one with the fused shadow piece can actually loose you in the area. His AI will then wander around looking for you.
Monsters that have the ability to track sounds the player makes is also great. Zombies in 7d2d can be awaken by the player waking over trash. I also want a video game where it has access to the microphone and the monster can track you with sound.

I have a job offer and a great opportunity abroad but I can’t go until my current house is ready to rent, and I can’t rent the house until I have some work done to it, and I can’t have work done because it’s cluttered and dirty. I thought this would take a couple of weeks but it’s already been over a month and it feels like I haven’t even started. This would have been a lot simpler if I were moving or storing all our stuff, but I’m only storing a few boxes and taking even less with me overseas. I’m just so overwhelmed and depressed and sad that I’m stuck here while my SO is already over there, and I can’t even see them until this is all behind me. I’m putting everything I touch into one of six categories: Send (to our new place), Store (in our storage locker here), Sell, Sort (stuff that must be reviewed before I can decide, like papers and photos), Share (donations) or Scrap (trash). Still, just finding a place to stage it all has been a bit of a nightmare and I’m making trips to charity shops almost every day. I can’t wait to be done but it feels like it might never happen, and there’s no option to not do it. I just feel so lost.

Inb4 "this one's actually unpopular"
Yes, I know that the last book in the main series came out in 2011, about 11.5 years ago. Yes, I know about that time Martin said his fans could throw him in jail if he didn't finish the manuscript by July 2020, and then didn't finish by that self-imposed deadline. I've seen and listened to all the Preston Jacobs videos and podcasts about the delays of TWOW (and refuse to watch the Nerdrotic ones, even at gunpoint). And I definitely get why people want a real ending to the story- season 8 of Game of Thrones sucked, and the story of the books really feels like it's nearing it's last act. But I still logically and emotionally understand what is taking him so long.
A Song of Ice and Fire is a truly EPIC series. It spans multiple countries and hundreds of main characters, all of which have deep, rich, entwining and interesting backstories and relevance to the plot. The total word count the main series (A Game of Thrones to A Dance with Dragons) is, 1,736,054 words long, according to Wikipedia. This is longer than The Hobbit (95,356 words), The Lord of the Rings (481,103 words) (according to Foster Grant) and The King James Bible (783,137 words, according to Word Count) combined (this combination being 1,359,596 words) . Hell, book 3 of ASOIAF alone is 414,603 words (Wikipedia), decently close the LOTR trilogy's total word count. Imagine how goddamn long and hard George had to work, plan, and write and write and write on this series. Then take into account his writings of the prequels and historical novels surrounding the peoples, cultures, geography, and histories of Westeros and Essos. And also writing episodes of the most mainstream cable television show of all time. And going to conventions, and doing interviews, and showing up to HBO offices to record video bites for Behind the Scenes content, and answering fan mail personally.

However, I do not entirely and unambiguously think George is correct in his delating. Personally, I believe that an author's creation of a series comes with an unspoken social contract with the fans, this contract being that as long as the fans continue to purchase a writer's stories, that the author will do their best to supply them with worthwhile (and existent) stories. Yes, I think that George has taken too long putting out TWOW. But unlike some others, I can understand why it's taken so long, and would have forgiven him for the delay if TWOW came out in 2021, a decade after Dance.

Got a Form 3531 mailed back, and I'm confused on what to do. Box 1 (Asks for signature because I forgot to sign it which is understandable)& 9 (Says the form is basically missing info (prob just my signature) and I have to resubmit the original completed form along with applicable schedule, forms, and attachments) are checked.
Questions: 1. Where do I sign? I see 3 times the "Sign Here" on the 1049 form so do I sign all 3?

1. Do I mail the last page? It says it's Form 8453-OL and says to not mail to the FTB, but there's a "Sign Here" on this form as well, and clearly I got the 3531 Form because of lack of signature, so do I need to mail the 8453-OL form anyways?
   
2. Does "applicable schedule, forms, and attachments" includes not only my signed 1040 form, but also W-2 and other documents mentioned on the 1040 form as well?
   
3. Do I have to photocopy my signed paperwork for show of proof in case they said I never signed it?
   

By season, I mean put salt or pepper or other classic seasonings.
I was making Mac and cheese with my girlfriend the other day and as I’m finishing it up she goes, “did you put the salt and pepper in?” I was so fucking confused. Do people do this? I’ve always understood the cheese and milk was the “seasoning” and adds plenty of flavor on its own. Does everyone else do this?
Edit: When I say Mac and cheese, I mean boxed Kraft Mac and cheese, not homemade.

Any ideas/opinions about these wooden blade guards?
I have the ABS/felt lined guards for 2 of my knives, but the 3rd didn't come with any. I am still keeping the knives in the boxes that they came in...but these are cardboard boxes, so eventually they will wear down. So I was planning to get some more of the same ABS/felt lined knife guards when I found this wooden blade guard on Amazon:

Sayas are more expensive and there's no guarantee one would fit my knife perfectly. So these might be a good and cheaper alternative as long as I buy the ones that are longer than my knife blade length.

Without warning, I spotted someone in the rearview mirror, another black, unmarked and tinted pickup truck zoning in on us, flashing their headlights.
“Shit,” I groaned. “Is it a…”
“He’s a friendly,” Ripley said, as I looked back to see the driver of the truck held his arm out, his thumb pointing towards the sky.
“We can’t pull over, we haven’t even hit the highway yet,” I replied.
“I think we should,” Ripley sighed. “Just for a minute, see who it is. If he was from the prison, he would have started to open fire by now.”
We pulled over slowly, and I stepped out of the car, walking towards the truck as my heart dropped.
“Hey,” Tanko said, staring at me, an eyepatch covering half of his face. “You know me?”
He was around average height, with tan skin, bright red eyes, wearing a black jumpsuit with long black hair, and a charming but malicious grin.
“You’re Tanko,” I replied. “The prisoner, right?”
“Damn straight,” Tanko said. “I saw y’all did that prison breakout, basically the only reason I made it out of that shithole. Mind if one more tags along?”
I knew he had deeper intentions.
I stared him down for a few seconds, before answering. “Sure, but trail our car from a little bit away. Honk twice if someone’s coming from behind.”
“Got it,” he said. “And have you seen Dani around?”
My blood ran cold just a little. “No, last time I caught her was at the priosn. Never saw her since.”
“Alright, let’s go.”
I walked back to the car, walking in and sitting down as I sighed and told Ripley to drive.
“Tanko’s behind us in that pickup.” I announced. “He’s tagging along becuase I apparently saved him from that shitty-ass prison.”
“Oh, really?” Ripley asked.
“Yeah, I made sure he tags along from behind because he seems really fucking suspcious.”
“Guy’s a dangerous felon after all.”
The radio suddenly crackled to life, and an unfamiliar voice came on, searching for the Warden.
“Warden, do you copy? Have you detained the rouge guards?”
I realized the man on the other end was the leader of DOSACD, Smith, when I stared at Cerberus, as I pulled her in and whispered for her to mimic the Warden’s voice.
“Yes sir,” Cerberus said, her voice almost a perfect reflection of The Warden’s. “We have all of them in custody and are heading back to the prison at the moment.”
“Good,” Smith said. “I’m sending three high-level Unkillables to the prison to assist. I’m going to have the Mercenary patrolling the surrounding fifty miles for any stragglers.”
“Of course,” Cerberus replied. “Thank you, over.”
“Over.”
I punched the radio, causing it to crackle and fizzle as I groaned.
“Fifty fucking miles. We have to clear that or he’s going to be on our asses.”
“TANKO!!” I yelled out the window at the hybrid. “WE NEED TO CLEAR FIFTY MILES!!”
He gave me a thumbs-up in response, and we sped up, the off-road tires on our vehicle kicking up dust as we roared through the Nevada desert.
“Fucking hell,” I said. “Can’t you go any faster?”
“It’s literally the fastest it can go. And besides, if The Mercenary spots us, he’ll catch us in a second. That motherfucker can go faster than a fighter jet.”
“Go off-road,” I said, the headlights of our jeep flashing off to avoid detection.
“What? It’s just miles of desert.” Ripley replied.
“Exactly. They probably have checkpoints and roadblocks up ahead checking every vehicle leaving, so we have to just push through another way.”
“We’re going straight, then we’ll hit a gas station a couple dozen miles away and we’ll rob a car and burn the shitbox I’m driving right now. It’s been a long time since I’ve been on the outside, but I’ve memorized this entire landscape.”
“Good idea,” I said. “Keep going, as fast as we can.”
Ripley sped off-road and into the barren Mojave desert, heading for the nearest non-government road as we crashed through and ran over dozens of perimeter fences and smaller unmanned checkpoints. The atmosphere in the humvee was tense, we had tasted the small victory of freedom, but we weren’t quite out of the woods yet. The ground beneath the tires were bumpy and hard, causing me to jump in my seat every time a rock hit the tire, or we ran over a crushed electric fence.
Tanko trailed us from behind with completely blinded headlights in his truck, keeping pace while I tensely gripped onto my pistol with my blood-splattered hands. If we encountered even one of the mid-level Unkillables, none of our guns or even explosives would damage them, maybe if Cerberus was at full power, she could hold one off. The Mercenary was notorious, both in the criminal underworld and anti-supernatural government-owned agencies for being one of the former Five Leviathans.

Hello fellow Redditors,
I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to share my current situation and seek some advice and support from this wonderful community. Recently, I secured a job in Gujarat, a state that I was excited to explore. Coming from Kolkata, it was a big move for me, but the job opportunity seemed too good to pass up.
Before I made the decision, my dad was already concerned about the potential challenges I might face as a alone Muslim girl in Gujarat, due to the prevailing anti-Muslim sentiments that have been portrayed in the media. However, I reassured him that it might not be as bad as it seems, believing that these were just media exaggerations.
Now, my parents are away on Hajj, and I have arrived in Gujarat with a few of my friends to join the company. Unfortunately, I have faced significant difficulties in finding accommodation. It's disheartening to share that I have been denied housing opportunities solely because of my Muslim identity. This has been a recurring issue across various societies I have approached. The only alternative option of shared accommodation in girls' PGs, with a room filled with seven people, isn't something I feel comfortable with.
After an exhaustive search, I finally found a small room near my office. However, the space is cramped and suffocating without having no windows, and the owner refuses to install an AC. It feels like I have to compromise on basic comforts just to have a place to stay with privacy. Although my name sounds Bengali, which may not immediately reveal my Muslim identity, and I don't wear a hijab, I can't help but feel fearful about living alone in a city where hatred towards my community exists.
I must clarify that the landlords I have encountered so far have been polite and haven't expressed any issues with me being a Muslim. However, the general atmosphere of hostility and the tragic incident I recently learned about, involving a Muslim girl who took her own life due to relentless harassment and familial pressures, have left me deeply scared and concerned.
I wanted to reach out to this community to gain some insight and advice. Are Muslims generally targeted in Gujarat, particularly in the workplace? I understand the dynamics of corporate politics but fear facing additional challenges simply because of my religious background. My intention was to work here for at least 2 years for the experience, but now my priority has shifted to ensuring my personal safety and well-being.
Considering the difficulties in securing accommodation, I am now considering the possibility of finding a place where I can live with my parents. Having them by my side would provide a sense of comfort and security.
Are there any areas or communities in Gujarat known to solely provide accommodation for Muslims? Are there specific housing societies or agencies that prioritize offering housing to Muslims?
Additionally, if anyone can recommend reliable resources or websites that specialize in connecting individuals with Muslim-friendly accommodations, that would be immensely helpful.

Suddenly remembered a video I saw a few years back, where there's two curtains that would go up and down to hide and reveal a different character on each side of the screen as they danced.
Don't remember the motion itself, don't remember the song. (Now that I think about it more, though, there was a part I think where a dancer slightly bends their knees and slowly moves in a circle, shuffling their feet, arms down in an A pose.)
Pretty sure it was an animation meme, and the version I'm remembering was Yandere Simulator characters but the animator made all custom models with varied heights. (Like the red-haired girl was really short, that stands out to me for some reason.)
It'd be cool to see the version I'm thinking of again, but really if there's any version at all, or just a download of the motion, I'd be happy. It's the kind of video I'd want to do to showcase models of my characters.

I'm not trying to sound like a "grammar police", but I have noticed that most of the videos on Tik Tok or Instagram that have those colour text boxes edited in the video ALWAYS lack a good form of grammar. I know since it's social media, the videos are usually just made for fun so people probably don't feel the need to be grammatically correct. But sometimes, it takes me a while to understand what the fuck the creator is trying to communicate with us. For example, the spelling is often WAAAY off. Like, I once saw "kiss" spelled as "kids" which didn't make sense with the context around the word and I was like huhhh??? until I realized that they meant "kiss" (and I've seen more unbelievably stupid typos like this). It's just so distracting! Also, these text boxes NEVER HAVE PUNCTUATION! Again, I understand it's social media so there's no need to be formal with good grammar. BUT NO PUNCTUATION MAKES EVERYTHING SO CONFUSING! Personally, its fine if the text box doesn't END with punctuations, hell, I don't end every text with periods or shit like that. But sometimes their text boxes contains paragraph of words with not. a. single. punctuation. in. sight. And again, this makes it so hard to separate their ideas and what they are trying to communicate!
I don't know if this was the right subreddit to ask this, but WHY THE FUCK ARE PEOPLE TO BAD WITH GRAMMAR ON SOCIAL MEDIA?!?!
