Hi I've worked in the food industry full time since I was 16. Usually mom and pop shops because they're a lot of fun to support, so maybe things would be different working for some corp but in my experience we're usually perfectly staffed and taking time off is difficult to do last-minute. I wanted to take today off and had full intentions of taking it off (pretending to call in sick for the first time ever, though my allergieshave been killing me so it wouldnt be much of a lie) but then learned my coworker already took the week off and others put some time off ahead of time, and that meant there was no one else that would be available to cover the shift if I wasn't there. It's possible for the kitchen to run, but it's not efficient at all, adds a large amount of stress to everyone, and wait times go from our usual 10 minutes to over an hour.
Now, since this coworker already took the time off, I'm needed to come in a little earlier than usual for my shift today. No big deal, means I'll be first off in the evening hopefully earlier than usual. My husband became furious that I was asked to come in early when I wanted to take the day off and is upset that I didn't just tell them I won't be coming in. That they can just figure it out and it's "not on me to pick up their slack."
I've tried to explain that even though my coworkers may take more time off than me, me suddenly calling out more will not change anything and will make me look bad in my bosses and fellow coworkers eyes. If I just start calling out morning of if there's no one able to cover, it reflects poorly on my character and he tries to tell me that's their problem not mine.
He has never worked in the food industry and has only ever worked from home, except for a year working at a vape shop that was very very laid back and the owner had another shop next door they were always at anyway so attendance has always been flexible. If he decides he doesn't want to work he can just not work.
I will admit, in the 6 years I've worked with my bosses I did let them walk over me at about year 3/4 when I was manager, so I know he has resentment toward my bosses for that treatment, but ive since stepped down from management and have taken a "not my problem" approach with most other things going on. As long as there's no theft or health code violations happening i dont get involved. I've put my foot down about working weekends unless its to cover in advance and have a shift change, and I only work 3 days a week, hours ranging 4-6hours.
I feel at my wits end trying to explain how working in service works and I know no matter how much I do explain, he'll never get it having not experienced it and he'll just continue to be mad at me and my job for things out of my control. If I he doesn't show up to work, nothing changes. He can do the work the next day. If we're down a person at work, prep doesnt get done, cleaning doesn't get done, food takes 10× as long to get out, we get more refunds and complaints. It's a huge domino effect. Everyone is upset.
Is there any advice to help this situation? How can I be better?

I'm having a debate with a friend about this. When I explain to him how an islamic bank would sell you a house with a profit, he says it's still interest. How do I explain this?

(TL;DR) I struggle to grasp what a socially accepted level of control of the parents over their child might be. There are instances where, looking back, I can see my parents' actions were a bit odd, but how much decision-making power regarding my life should have been delegated to me?
I (now early 20s) grew up in a family where my parents decided on everything related to education and career. Anything else, such as personal development and learning basic life skills, would be neglected, because my siblings and I's sole purpose of existence was to get good grades and a prestigious career.
My parents

• decided I must sit entrance exams for grammar schools at the age of 12 without telling me what grammar schools even were.
• ignored my wishes of a career as a caregiver at the age of 15 and decided I must attend high school (not that common in my country), though I was allowed to choose the specific school
• didn't let me take the chance to visit different places of work on a particular day once a year where kids/teens are encouraged to do so by the government and schools to find out what jobs they might be interested in. I was only allowed to visit my father's office every year, except for once when I was 10.
• partially chose the subject I was going to get my high school diploma in, those I chose myself were subject to scrutiny by my parents. I was 17.
• chose my University and Major by using a great amount of coercive control when I was 19.

My parents have always applied coercive control on me. They would tell me how horrible my life would be if I didn't make the right (their) choice, how choosing anything other than what my parents want for me is completely worthless in society and I would end up at rock bottom. I want to tell them now that I have found something I feel truly passionate about, but I am scared and feel sorry for them.
How normal is this?

1. Queue system changes:
After the queue system changes half of my games are empty, rest of them have 1 or 2 teams. Space combat is completely dead, I either spawn first and see no ships/one ship at the other end of the map or I spawn in late and everyone is in POIs already. I can bring biggest ships solo with no fear of being shot down before I make it into the raid. Having to wait 3-5 minutes to get into a PvE game really ruins it for me.
2. Ship guns opinions and suggestions:
Flak is above everything else after the buff, and the fact that it's on the smallest and cheapest available chassis makes other ships kind of useless (for space combat, disregarding ship stash size). All of the other ship guns are too weak, I'd rather have the default 100mm cannon instead of anything that's not flak, rocket artillery or torpedoes.
- Flak Cannon - Revert range buff, or halve the current range and lower the dmg by 20. With lowered damage (assuming you can hit every shot which is easy with Flak) it would still destroy Scouts and Interceptors with 1 reload, Heavies with 2 and Capitals with 3, but wouldn't kill people inside ships as fast as it does now.
- Dual 25mm - The gun is easy to use, has decent projectile speed, but the reload speed makes it way worse than the default 100m. Halving the reload speed would double the dps in longer fights making it have 15 more dps including reload than the rustbucket cannon which I feel would be fair. Buff the reload speed to 3s, or 4 if it turns out to be too strong.
- 75mm turret is the worst ship gun right now. Has 0 AoE even though visually the explosion is quite big, deals no damage, has very slow projectile. Buff it to 100 (or even 125), give it 3m AoE and make the projectile as fast as the 100mm one. It would still have lower overall dps than the 100m but would have decent consistent dps if you could hit the shots.
- Triple Turret has very good stats, but slow projectile makes it meh compared to other options. Buff the projectile speed so it's the same as 100mm projectile. Maybe reduce the dmg to 200 if it turns out to be too strong.
- Rocket Artillery - The only ship gun that's good without being OP. Leave as it is.
- Dual Rocket - Buff damage to 100, or even 125. Would have overall slightly less dps than 100mm turret, but stronger burst dps.
- Torpedo launcher - A very specific gun that's both OP and useless depending on the situation. It's the only ship gun that can consistently kill people before they get to the pods if they're not spamming large medkits. I'd say leave as it is for meme value, but could be buffed to dual rocket projectile speed with lowered damage. Dual Rockets would need a projectile speed buff though.
- Howitzer - Look how they massacred my boy. It was the most satisfying ship gun in game. Revert the nerf, buff damage back to 250.
- Nuclear Launcher - Good as it is.
3. Ship customization:
I really don't like that a feature got completely removed from the game. It was fun running/running into weird builds and trying stuff out.
Ship customization could also be the solution to the 'breaching problem' for people who complain about getting breached right at the start of the game - there could be a 'breaching armor' customization option that would reduce the speed of the ship by a decent margin while disallowing being breached before the ship is destroyed. You could be safe from instant breaching at the cost of being an easy target or being the last ship docking into POI.
Could also allow other options - buying lighter armor so your ship is faster with a downside of being destroyed easier, or armor that's weak to certain weapon types (normal projectiles, flak, rockets/torpedoes) and strong vs. others. Would have to be represented visually on the ships in some way.
Some customization could be also balanced by allowing different gun types with certain customizations, eg. light turret guns - 100mm, 75mm, dual 25mm, dual rockets, rocket artillery, maybe flak. Heavy turret guns - Triple turret, howitzer, torpedo launcher, nuclear launcher. If you want to bring a big stash and good armor - you can't use heavy turrets because there isn't enough poweroom in the ship to run it all. Bigger ships could have more room/power to use more customizations at the same time.
Current ship variants could be sold as chassis with the default 100mm cannon with option to upgrade them as before the UA patch.
Unlocking better ship chassis in shop could be an option, so when you start you can only buy scouts, then you pay to unlock interceptors and so on.
No level requirements, so if someone wants to focus strictly on space combat could just grind the money and buy whatever they want. All of it would also be a money sink to be able to do something with all the money which is very easy to get and would allow to change focus while prestiging - eg. on my first prestige I focus on in-raid stuff, then on the second one on space combat to switch things up a bit.
4. Gameplay issues:
- After recent hitreg changes the torso hurtbox while someone is ADSing is too big and covers the head. It requires me to aim at the top of the head to land a shot that's not tanked by arms, which results in the gun covering most of the model so if the opponent crouches or moves I can't see it.
- Breaching spawns, one of the biggest problems for me. I hate dying right after breaching Merchant just because someone spawned right behind me and it feels equally shitty when I get a free kill because I spawned right behind someone. Add a simple check if a player is near a breaching spawn and spawn the next player somewhere else. I understand that sometimes there may be too many players but if that happens less often it wouldn't be as annoying.
- Being able to operate airlock doors manually. It's irritating that I have to go through the locking/unlocking animation just to access the ship stash. Let me leave the door open, use the ship stash then close it. Same goes for airlock camping, I don't really have a problem with that in general, I understand that it might be a 'balance' decision but just sitting there without being able to close the door feels... Illogical? Maybe add a 30s cooldown for the outside door, the current one is way too punishing especially when people camping the airlock still have huge advantage.
- Change the handling of mouse input. No idea why it isn't just raw input, mouse smoothing/acceleration is a bad thing in any FPS game period.
- Make the UI sound slider lower the sounds of picking up stuff/crafting in the inventory, no idea why it's tied to effects volume. Scrapping machetes hurts with high volume on headphones.
- Equipping and throwing grenades could be a bit faster and automatically switching to the last used weapon after throwing one would be a nice QoL feature.
- Fall damage, one of the weirdest things in the game - jumping over the railing on the rustbucket stairs takes 3% of the hp while dropping all the way down from high command on Navy deals maybe 15%. Make the players not take damage when jumping from low height but increase the damage while jumping from bigger heights.
- Crafting time should be reduced to 0 or increased so you have to wait and plan ahead for crafting bigger items. Right now it's just a minor annoyance where I have to alt-tab for 2 minutes while waiting for a ship to craft. If crafting times would be increased allow us to get more crafting slots in some way. I'd rather have instant crafting though because the fact that preparing for a game is super fast compared to other games in the genre is a definite plus.
- Add situational spawn triggers? I know AI isn't much of a problem in this game and is probably worked on, but having AI spawn while doing certain things on map like opening a Vault/Depot, accesing some areas (High Command) would be a cool thing. But maybe I'm biased because my games are very empty lately.
- Stash management - It would be nice to be able to CTRL click items both ways, but I guess it's going to be polished out later after adding content and more core stuff into the game.

1. Guns balance suggestions/opinions:

- Bring back the AP mine oneshot and disable the red light. They're hard to get and there's not many situations where it's guaranteed someone will walk into one. Make them deal decent damage to the ship if detonated onboard or make the breaching destroy them before the player spawns.
- Buff Viper. It's a rare weapon that's really cool, but the only way to kill someone with a Sten is to land headshots and Viper doesn't allow you to do it easily. Allow us to put Sten attachments on them at least.
- Buff shotgun spread, the recent change ruined them completely. Revert the change, I know adsing to reduce spread isn't realistic but is a decent solution for them to not suck and be usable at the same time without people running and gunning with the all the time.
- Make the body of the M16 scope smaller, it covers too much of the screen to be usable. The reticle could also be smaller. SVT scope sensitivity issue is probably known to the devs already so I'm hoping it will be fixed too.
6. ZTH:
Unpopular opinion, but ZTH is ok as it is. I was also pissed off at the POIs not appearing, SAS Captains/Commando Majors not spawning and other RNG things, but it's the only long-term goal along trader levels in the game right now so not being able to rush through it is fine by me. I switched to just playing the game regardless of having ZTH targets on the map and doing them if I get blessed by the RNG gods.
7. POIs and suggestion about getting the POI that you want:
Terraformer and Prison are both great maps that are mostly ignored by the players. I'm afraid that after adding soloqueue they will be even emptier because the playerbase will be divided into 2 parts.
What if players were able to unlock and craft coordinates that allow to get into a specific POI - You could find disk drives/CDs/floppy discs/whatever in the computers, then pay a large amount of money to allow one time entry to a specific POI. I know that Asteroid Mine would probably be full every raid, but if some people would want to have a calm raid they would select Prison or Terra, and if enough people decide to do that sudeenly you got a raid with some people and action in it. Also less players would leave just because they didn't get the POI they want. Would work even better if all raids would be a single POI raid. The idea obviously requires more refinement. There could also be a bonus for going into a raid without coordinates like +10% exp for going random.

The game is great, I love how SIG managed to get what's fun about extraction shooters and create a fun and unique experience that's also approachable for a casual player. I hope it'll get as much traction as it deserves and become a success after release.

Otherwise i am happy with everything the device offers
Now for the bugs i faced
- Battery life is bad and SOT is horrible even under light usage it's around 5 hrs - Display flickering is major and horrible and unlike earlier it only switches between 120-60 and doesn't do smart switching for certain apps like YouTube where it earlier used to switch between 90-60 And though the device is very much capable of going down to 48 hz it never goes down that low - There is a picture in picture bug where if you lauch the app from the launcher when it's in p2p mode it will glitch out - Also there appears to be a bug in regards to the nav bar weirds out and becomes unusable at times when you rotate the device. - the fingerprint can at times not respond to presses or touches - standby drain isn't terrible but is at roughly 6-8 percent which is fairly high - the heat produced by the phone is quite a lot and even under light uses can easily reach 60-70 degrees on all cores under light usage like watching YouTube and paradoxically it stays surprisingly cool in the 50s - the vibration motor is being overdriven and doesn't feel that good - the display even under natural mode is way too over saturated and setting it to a cooler profile didn't help much - i believe the charging speed has gone down as well - and the kernel governor keeps the X2 core activated and hence i assume is a major cause of the poor battery life - there is some touch issues where it at times won't recognize touch
- when the display refresh rate refreshes and incase you are watching a video, the video will flash black for a brief second
-this above issue also occurs when the screen is rotated
-5g even when available never seems to show up( yes i have made sure 5g is set as the preferred speed)
In low brightness the screen is nearly unwatchable and is only even usable at half the brightness
- Camera quality at low brightness is terrible
All these issues i face appear to be purely software related other than maybe perhaps the displays terrible purple tinting and the bad battery life. Which i am going to confirm by taking this to a service centre just incase.
Its my request please do fix these issues or atleast inform the concerned people. As the device seems to be really good but the software even with the stock android goodness is going to absolute garbage.

- An update to rework the Stat system used by the Shack, to improve build variety and possibilities.
- The major change is the ability to choose your casting stat (stat used for magical abilities) between WIS, INT, CHA and SPI, a bit like how DnD classes work but more freeform. This is to give these abilities combat relevance on a basis and allow for more diverse builds. To do so, add in your Racial Traits what casting stat is used.
- This is because SPI shoehorns people into using it exclusively when building a magic user, reducing build diversity and making the overall possibilities of building poorer. SPI is also notorious for having no out-of-combat usage, making it essentially a combat only stat.
- This update tries to expand the possibilities a build here can have in terms of stats by allowing more stats to be used for casting, opening up possibilities for magic users.
- Over an all, this aims to give both in and out of combat relevance to ALL stats to make them more playable, and avoid stats such as Charisma becoming dump stats in most builds. Overall, quality of life update. Welcome posts have been updated already!

SPI: Pure, innate attunement to the magical powers of the world, the strength of the soul. Used to resist arcane magical effects and curses, communicate with magical entities such as demons, angels, eldritch things, and interact with knowledge or materials beyond the scope of intelligence. Statistically speaking somebody in the world would have this Trainer ID number, sure you can always mod/hack your pokemon game to change it but naturally is there somebody who does infact have this ID number
There are 999,999 different combination of numbers for somebody's Trainer ID so there should be a 1/999,999 chance of it being out there somewhere probably even higher with only a six digit ID and over 10 million copies sold (of Scarlet and Violet)

I went through a breakup over a year ago, she also went through a break up around the same time. I have been working on myself and so was she, I felt I was a much better person than I was a year ago. We met after about 10 months since our respective break ups. We have been dating for about 5 months now.
Despite the age gap in the beginning and hesitation in getting into a relationship in the beginning because of it (Her family is somewhat conservative), we had a conversation and decided to go forward with the relationship. We got along so well. We had great chemistry and I felt we were really compatible. We pretty much had very similar mindset when it came to politics, family, relationship, future.
I actually sometimes feel I am head over heels for her. I can tell how much I am in love with her. She's so thoughtful, so kind and so patient and laughs to my dumb humor. The relationship to me is a 11/10 when we are together (when we meet or when we are like on a call, talking.)
So, she work from home (she's in tech). I have been on a from working ever since I decided to take a change in career. I have been working towards learning something new (I've found what I want to do for the next phase of my life) and have been working towards it the past couple of months. I plan to start looking for jobs in this field in a few weeks once I feel confident enough.
We both could be in our own world through the day, occasionally maybe sending each other memes or whatever we find during our breaks. Maybe have a 5 minute conversation along with that. We used to regularly talk for about an hour in the evenings, after she's done with work and before I hit the gym.
Lately though, the 1 hours down to few minutes. Maybe 5-10. I'd wait for her to finish work so I can talk to her before I leave. Sometimes I get late, but that's fine. We text for a bit before we go to sleep at night too. But even that's gone down quite a bit. She'd either do a little more work at nights or sometimes study for a bit before texting me. I too usually study for a bit at night and pause when she texts me, then resume once she's asleep. Also, I want to mention, lately we've been watching shows at night (online, on call). So we don't text much anymore, we call, watch and go sleep.
I have mentioned to her before that I like spending the little time with her, just talking or even texting. We don't say anything except if it's related to the show, during this time.
I'm a physical touch kinda guy. I like just holding hands, cuddles, just being near my partner. I've mentioned this to her. I've mentioned that sometimes I don't even wanna do anything physical, I just want to see her. She's communicated to me that it's hard for her to get out of her house randomly unless weekends (I've mentioned the conservative family) so yeah, I don't pressure her into doing anything she can't do.
We used to meet up every weekend, we'd go on dates. Dinner, or an activity, whatever. Saturdays and Sundays. She'd also come over some weekends as it's our only private time together. But again, lately, we don't meet up so much. We don't text so much. We don't talk so much. She told me that she got extra workload this week and it's been taking most of her time. I get it, I understand. I try not to bother her.
Now I know at the back of my head, I am overreacting and that I fell too fast too soon or whatever. But my past relationship went down the same exact road. I could feel my ex growing distant and eventually we broke up because she lost "feelings" for me. (We dated for about over a year)
And normally I would just let this ride, accept that she's busy for it's temporary. She'll have time and we could spend time again. But man, it's been messing with my head. It's hindering my ability to focus on studying. I thought I'll come here and get different perspectives and maybe some peace?

TLDR; Gf of 5 months, used to spend a lot of time together, is now temporarily very busy with extra workload and is unable to spend as much time anymore.

So, I'm a refugee from ye olden (pre-internet) tymes, when I did alternative comics for zine-type publishers. At that time, the artist/writer usually did it all: writer, penciller, inker, letterer (my old stuff had terrible lettering lol).
In those days a single page of b/w comics usually took me around 8 hours to complete. I made no money at it, and didn't have enough time to devote to comics. Eventually I gave it up even though I loved it.
Now I'm geezing hard but for some reason I want back in to comics. I lost my drawing chops years ago and frankly, I don't have enough time or resolve left to regain them. So I would love to collaborate with artists who have the skills and style I'm currently lacking.
I've spent the last 20 years writing - thinking about writing, story, characters, plots and pacing. I have a lot of great concepts that I've written as fiction prose and I'm just now realizing that a great deal of them would make fantastic comics (with the right artwork).
But I don't know this crazy modern world of comics - I am a simple caveman who doesn't understand your Procreates, mangas and TikToks. These days, from what I have found, few publishers are interested in writers without x number of page samples of finished artwork.
So for me to try and get my stories published, I need finished artwork. Am I understanding that correctly?
After lurking around Reddit and doing my own research, my path forward seems to be hiring an artist to do at least 5-10 pages of a script to submit to publishers? Does that sound right?
Or instead of being published by Fantagraphics or whatever, I could just self-publish but to my grey old head that means going to record stores, coops, head shops and seeing if they would stock my little booklets I printed at Kinkos. And stapled myself. Quaint, I know.
As for publishing/promoting my stuff online, I don't even do Facebook, let alone IG or TikTok. I mean, I guess I could learn but Jesus I don't wanna. Social media sucks and nobody should indulge in it. Consarn it!
Of course, my stuff is not suited for mainstream comics - I don't do superheroes, manga, etc. So I'm not trying to get published by Marvel or come up with the next Jojo's Bizzare Adventures. It's mostly arty, alt, imaginative work that is heavily influenced by magic realism, scifi and punk and fine art.
I'm not worried about making money- I mean, I'll probably I'll be dead or senile in 10 years or so. I just want to introduce my characters and ideas to the world in general before it's too late. 😰 In case you haven't guessed, I'm 60 years old and sinking fast.
So my best bet is to cough up some scratch to pay an artist to illustrate a few pages, then submit. Right? Rinse and repeat.
Am I on the right track, or am I missing something? Any suggestions or tips? Any eccentric billionaires reading this who want to fund me? Elon, you'll do any stupid shit, right? Gimme a publishing contract!

I just got a new Lectric XP 3.0, and this if my first ebike. To me, the PA1 and PA5 feel exactly the same and get the same results (top speed 21mphish). Is this normal? I really can’t tell the difference between any of the settings

Hey y'all. Help a girl in distress here.
(My English writing skills are not great, so please bear with my story which might be haywire)
So it's been about 6-7 months that I've been working at my present organisation. There's this guy from another department with whom I started talking casually like just the usual hi-hellos in corridors as we don't get much time to sit idle.
Soon after, one day I was sitting in the break room where he came and sat with the book he was reading. Then we started talking on the usual stuff of daily lives. This went on for about 20 minutes and we got back to work. This was just one incident of us sitting together back in January-end.
There were another 3-4 incidents like this over the next 2 months when one day he casually stated that we should meet outside. This didn't had me surprised because obviously when others see any interactions like these, they would casually just assume that something is going on between them.
Mind you, these were all just normal conversations that any colleague would have. And apart from the 4-5 conversations we had, others were just corridors greetings or I had no sight of him at all.
One was where we exchanged numbers and he would call me sometimes.
Anyway, so the same pattern continued till recently when we actually did meet outside (with some of his friends outside of workplace, which he asked me before). He hugged me and I wasn't even expecting that. Like I thought that it would be just a less-formal encounter as it is at the workplace. Anyway, later we talked and had dinner. He dropped me and hugged me again while leaving, like boy it felt really good.

I have really started liking him as a person. I've just joined a classwhich I've kept on hold since like 8 years. I'm more physically active and have started to become a little more productive throughout the day especially after work. I've also started preparing for the upcoming exams lol.
Now I don't know if I'm overthinking this,but I can't get him out of my mind at all. It's him running at the back of my mind at all times and I don't know what this feeling is. I can't seem to figure out where am I going with this. Is this even worth giving so much attention to? Or is if just something anyone would do?

So it's been about 6-7 months that I've been working at my present organisation. There's this guy from another department with whom I started talking casually like just the usual hi-hellos in corridors as we don't get much time to sit idle.
Soon after, one day I was sitting in the break room where he came and sat with the book he was reading. Then we started talking on the usual stuff of daily lives. This went on for about 20 minutes and we got back to work. This was just one incident of us sitting together back in January-end.
There were another 3-4 incidents like this over the next 2 months when one day he casually stated that we should meet outside. This didn't had me surprised because obviously when others see any interactions like these, they would casually just assume that something is going on between them.
Mind you, these were all just normal conversations that any colleague would have. And apart from the 4-5 conversations we had, others were just corridors greetings or I had no sight of him at all.
One was where we exchanged numbers and he would call me sometimes.
Anyway, so the same pattern continued till recently when we actually did meet outside (with some of his friends outside of workplace, which he asked me before). Veeran” does share some similarities with other films like Vijay’s Velayudham, Nikhil’s Karthikeya, Ram Kumar’s Mundasupatti, and Basil Joseph’s Minnal Murali. However, in the end it maintains its own identity, thanks to Da Vinci Code (Maybe an inspiration 🙂 ).
Veeran reminds us of “Velayudham” because of the dialogues, costumes, and the climax, where the protagonist assumes a guardian deity’s identity to protect his people.
The character sketch of Veeran bears a resemblance to “Karthikeya”.
The narration around the temple in “Veeran” is quite similar to “Mundasupatti”, and there is even a dialogue referencing it.
The major difference between Veeran and Minnal Murali is in the writing. Minnal Murali has a steady, well-paced character development and transformation into a superhero, whereas Veeran tends to be more sudden in these aspects because of its poor writing.
Veeran doesn’t quite reach the heights of films like “Minnal Murali”, it still manages to entertain and engage the audience to a certain extent.People were laughing and clapping at theatre, especially children enjoyed the most, I guess.
Remember the first half is slow-paced & poorly written, but in the second half Veeran team did a better job. You may find some thrilling moments.
If you’re a fan of superhero movies and are interested in seeing a different take on the genre, Veeran Movie could be worth a watch. But go in without high expectations, and you might find yourself enjoying the film.
